I dont know anything

Between the tent, lights, fans, and what ever else is needed up to $750.

I only plan to grow one indoor at a time. Its legit for indoor fun during the rainy season lol.

My thought on the 2x2 is less space to fill with light. I probably understand it wrong but the same plant in a 2x2 if put in a 4x4 would need extra light to fill the extra square footage? A 2x2 might not work for me anyway. I dont fit well in real tight places lol
One thing to keep in mind is you measure the plant canopy to figure out what light you need, not the grow space. No sense in lighting unused space. There will be less reflection if the walls are further away but it's really the canopy you should be thinking about. Just a thought.

Considering the cold temps wouldn’t cmh/hps be better for battling temps?
I didn't want to bring HID into the picture as you usually get shot down and told you're living in the past. But HID lighting is perfect for growing in the winter in an unheated garage. Plus you can get lights for the fraction of the cost of LED. An oil filled heater will keep the temps up during lights off.

Yea that’s what clicked for me too. I keep hearing they give off the most heat. If going they a winter cycle “almost” outdoors I figured it would fit best and cheaper to get started.

Can elaborate on this please.

When you say measure the canopy what is the light to canopy measurement ratio?

Probably how wide you want the canopy depicts how much spread you need. I guess you can go off how wide your canopies usually are but outdoors tend to be a lot bigger so idk if we can really go off that.

I'm running

Current culture UC8
1/4 hp water chiller
2 x Rayonled GLM 720 / 720W lights
3 x money fans
1 x wind devil
1 x 8" vortex S line fan and carbon filter for exhaust
1 x 6" vortex S line fan and carbon filter for

+++running a smaller intake keeps a negative pressure in the tent. Two 8 inch fans even with exhaust in high and intake on low was impossible to maintain negative pressure and my whole house smelled++++

Gorilla 5x9 tent - 7' with the 1' extension kit incase
Idealair humidifier with water hookup to automatically top up water
Blue labs guardian monitor
Blue labs auto PH and feed doser
Small floor stand air conditioner unit
Small floor space heater
HT2 climate controllers that controls everything for day and night.
A 75 gallon flexitank for a top off reservoir
And a 300GPD RO filter
Additional water pump for pumping water out for water changes

I spent $10k Canadian dollars and made that back on my first grow. Grew 8 plants (wedding cake) and got about 9 lbs of bud.

The plants grew like fucking monsters on steroids!
The trunks were so thick they were pushing out hydroton balls out if the baskets. Never seen anything like it...

Indoors is the way to go, my only suggestion is dont cheap out.

Is gorilla with it? Yes!!!
Is current culture worth it? Yes!!!

Cheers man and good luck

Sure, take a look at this bad drawing I just made real quick. Say you have a 5 x 5 tent and inside have plants that will be in center. The canopy is the amount of real estate the plant tops or canopy will take up. If the canopy of the plants only takes up a 4x4 space in the tent than that is what you need to light, there is no point in being to concerned about the perimeter around the plants since there are no plants in them.

Or just train them to keep in a specific footprint. Look at it this way, if you were growing a plant in an open room you would not light the whole room, you would put a light over the plant to cover the canopy.

Right. I’d put it in a corner so the light would reflect off the walls.

Please excuse the mess. Have been installing baseboards and flooring around the house. But that piece of cardboard covers a vent window that goes directly outside. Perfect spot for the tent to draw fresh air from. Thats where it will be getting set up.

Think that will work well? View attachment 4701853
You can probably install a louver for a hole that size
Something like this

You'll also want to do something to keep the plants off of the cold concrete slab. I rigged an elevated floor for the inside of my tent. Makes a big difference for temp at the root zone.

But if your running rdwc the cold is good...less work for the chiller and depending how cold the floor is maybe no water chiller at all

It can be set up on milk crates also with plywood over them to level the surface. Should be easy on Wizz’s knees too. We ain’t getting any younger.

If you're running rdwc maybe. I didn't see any post where the OP said they growing that style.

Milk crates take up too much height. The floor I put in is just a couple inches.
