Courtship. Stealing a kiss. That is something different than abusing power, abusing a situation. No, I have never asked a woman if I can kiss her. Which reminds me of another situation in the same bar (after hours, yes I was one of the Night People.

Wait, that is not it. Wait, Night Creatures.

A trio of girls used to hang out there also, one in this story. We were all sitting around the table having drinks and this girl and I had a discussion about something along the lines of Man Smart, Woman Smarter. She was a smart cookie and I would say my bit, then she would say hers, back and forth, some of the bartender staff university educated because what else you going to do with an Arts degree? So anyway she says her bit and thinks she has me now, I leaned over and got within an inch of kissing her before she realizes and pulls away. Everybody laughed as it said, "I could be a dumb guy and you can be smarter than me, me don't care, me just want to kiss you."

Or something like that. Yes it was not in courtship but it wasn't threatening. A little bit of a shock for her, in a way I outsmarted her, winning the argument. There was an age difference between us anyway. Fast forward at a party in a back yard by a fire she caught me off guard and planted one on me. I was a little upset. Not because of the kiss but because I was not expecting it and did not have the foreplay leading up to it so I can enjoy it as much as I should have.

Anyway, that is where we are right now. I guess there has to be some give and take between the two, you can not just grab a piece out of the blue, even if you feel you are being romantic. The other person has to be a willing participant. Not just, "I am falling for this girl, I am going to win her over with a kiss." I think that might be the order of the day. Don't surprise the person, especially if there was no signs you two have something going on.

More for the guys who think every woman is attracted to him. Or woman actually. But I am not telling you that story.

We shouldn't be so quick to deem the natural courtship process assault is what it comes down to for me. Me too is a movement that will run it's course and become something a little saner. If somebody goes in for a kiss and gets rejected, that's punishment enough under normal conditions. This is not about strangers grabbing ass etc, although many of you want to argue that.

And I am glad that some of you gentlemen always asked before they kissed a woman. I personally think it's a dorky as fuck thing to do. But maybe you're from the mid-west and it's a cultural thing? I'm from Tokyo, very very different. Because the way the language is, no can actually mean yes in Japanese....(hate to break it to some of you men, but in America no also sometimes means yes. NO! means NO! ahhh ha ha ha, stop it ha ha ha might not.) If you can read the situation correctly, you bust a nut, if not, you're a rapist!. But for real, a lot of you men sounds a little, watered down. Life like scotch should be experienced straight, not watered down.
Look at you pretending that isolating a young woman and stuffing your tongue down her throat and asking for permission to kiss them are the only two options.

Words meanings take different meanings over time. Having a Gay Old Time does not mean what it once did.

And since at least the 90's (the 80's were a blur and the 70's I am not sure about) 'No' means 'No'. There had been enough information out by that time that unwanted sexual contact is not acceptable. It does not mean no don't stop. That is just someone justifying their actions.

I had a serving wench warm my nights for a while. If you took liberties with her you have only yourself to blame for missing parts. As for my parts, "Ahhhh... ..those were the days."

I would respond horribly but I would also ask my wife how they created a dynamic where a man just thought it was OK to kiss her
Curious, would you drag her out by the arm and berate her for causing the guy to lose control and sexually assault her? What do you mean when you say you would act horribly?

"Oh sorry, I misread you."
“I thought you wanted me to assault you with my tongue”. Poor fella, the assault was just a big misunderstanding …….. FFS
