oh, don't spray them much. maybe weekly. Not much if anymore. potential mold if they stay wet and if you do put them under direct light before the leafs dry the lights will burn the wet leafs. Kind of like when a rain storm passes usually clouds let the leafs dry before the direct sun hit em. Outdoor plants do become much hardyer if that's a word...

Gotcha! I really appreciate all the info you guys give me! LoL... so far so good on the bugs. (saving info) Last night we were looking at the BB's thinking they needed some water... so I told hubby.... remember water a day or so after you think they need water. I am just wondering how much water is enough?

I had him lift the pots too, to get a feel for them now. But it is so much easier when your not watering every couple of days. The leaves are a nice dark green and in my opinion looking better than any previous grow.

Relaxed what did you normally grow before? We have this planter box, I am dying to grow some Roma tomatoes in. Finally have room for a garden and I have been procrastinating. But, if I do grow some nice roma tomatoes then I will be happy. I can make a nice big pot of sauce or gravy... depends on who your talking too. But I guess thats a whole different website! LoL:-P

Ya those plants aren't big enough to handle being water every other day in those size containors (sp). The soil around the root zone will be dry a couple days before the bottom but that is fine. You want to make the roots dig deeper by forcing them to go deep to find water. If your watering every other day it doesn't give the roots a chance to dry out and go on the search for more.

I just got my plant out of being overwatered she didn't water for damn near two weeks and still not one sign of underwater lol. You could even almost let the plant go long enough without watering that the leaves start to droop then water. Once they get bigger every other day will be good depending on size that is still. I've been giving just a half gl to my lady till she gets bigger.

Try not to make it hard to mix a batch of soil.

Mix it this way if your 2nd guessing - get a one gallon container like an ice cream container empy or something and a tablespoon.
I mix in this order and repeat as needed so I don't mess up: 1 gal. OF / 1/2 gal. Perlite / 2 tbsps. domalite lime per gal.,1 gal. OF, 2 tbsp. domalite lime per gal., mix like no tomorrow...repeat if more soil needed. As Long as you mixed up the domolite good should no be a problem.
Did you germ the seeds in a moist paper towl till white tails showed then plant tail down in moist watered soil using a toothpick to make a 1 inch hole? That is really about 100% unless you noticed some off colored roots like maybe yellow or very thick roots have not come up in the past. That would be a genetic thing causing an issue imo. It is nature and giving birth isn't 100% or we wouldn't have adoptions....
My background had some horticulture in it in the past. I enjoy growing roses, perennials, veggis, and herbs. I don't like annuals much b/c I don't like replanting. Depending on your area you may be late on planting veggis unless your talking fall veggis? Herbs are always good and easy in a container. Some fresh basil in a spegetti sauce mmmmgood. I went on a mojito kick last year and started making my own special spearmint for my own recipe of mojitos. Love em...mmmgood on a hot day. I am in the deep south where the margarita is king. Going for a couple tonight...
I would suggest including the preventive spray in your weekly plant tools. The neem oil is really the stuff that helps naturally prevents bugs. Doesn't kill them but doesn't let them reproduce and they don't like hanging out in soil with it. You May be ok without it. I am an organic guy if at all possible.

Ok.... its offical I fugged up the soil mix! I know I had to. I used a gallon container and measuring spoon set. But what I had done was cut the mix as not to make a complete batch, but I dont think I cut the lime. So in turn, I bunt the shyt outta the girls! And I am usually betty crocker when it comes to mixin things, guess the old saying, dont do shyt when you tired applied for that night.

So we are now germinating 4 bag seed and 2 more NL's (to replace the ones I killed as Hubby put it):-x They should be ready to plant by tomorrow. And this time I am just gonna follow th recipe to a tee and not cut it.

And yes, Relaxed I do germ them and plant like you described. I also told Hubby about the bug spray... He is gonna pick up the items to make a batch. And ummm Fresh basil.... I could do that. I need to really get on my own garden. I have a perfect sunny spot in the yard for a lil garden. I just have to put something around it to keep the deer and rabbits from eating my stuff.

And Thanks Green, The root things makes complete sense to me now. We overwatered on the last grow and when I tried tieing them off to the side, the uprooted. So Complete sense now, thanks.

How long has it been for the burned seeds? Don't give up on em for a couple weeks. If its been 4 days water em. They might....pop? The plant is pretty hardy but then again seedling aren't. Sorry. Remember, less is better then more or overdoing anything...like don't over water, nuts, soil mixes, lights u get it....I am begining to think your being hard on yourself and doing to much....Good luck..

Hmmmmmm seedlings shouldn't be getting ANYTHING at all not even in the soil. Just use straight FFOF when in the 16oz cups. Transplant your seedling into the special soil mix so it has had some time to grow a bit and get established before sucking up nutrients that it doesn't need.

Relaxed... should I use 2 tbsp per 1gal FFOF and FFLW together or a total of 4 tbsp, being 2 tbsp for each 1 gal of FFOF and 1gal FFLW?

2 tablespoons of lime for each gallon of soil. If you end up using 2 gallons of soil of any brand 4 tablespoons domolite lime. Mix well. Perlite is not soil.....I found a mailing zip lock baggie that holds about 4 gallons perfect for mixing and keeping a batch of soil. Kind of like the old shack n bake commercial for chicken. As someone said. You could skip the lime for seedling if you want. I wouldn't because the idea is consistantcy-spelling for the plants and very little to no changes lowers stress potential...for a lot of things like health of plant and hermie potential....Gl

fox farms light warrior is more than sufficient by itself to both germinate and sprout healthy plants. No need to go through all the mixing.

I was actually wondering what I could use.. and I do have some of those Hefty zip locks. The Nls' are germed and we are going to plant them tonight. Just waiting on the bag seed to crack now too.
