I got a small pair of pliers, but that immediately broke one of the wings with the second wing breaking right after. Well, two other ones did the same thing, and I managed to get 1 off very very carefully. That made me stuck with a socket that I couldnt mount to the hood, and ended up going through hell getting the broken ones off finally after a couple of days. I replaced the bolts and nuts with new ones, and I have been happy ever since.

I had the same problem with all the sockets.

I used very delicatly a pair of vice grips and took the back off and a screwdriver to work off the nuts, Broke two wings per socket.

Those nuts are very cheap plastic buggers.

ya i bought a 400w hps too and just got it today so i hope it works fine and doesnt blow but if it does im glad theres a warranty i can fall back on

is the inside of a cooler reflective?the flat white coating??ima have some seedlings inside,with a few cfl's...sounds good?will it reflect light somewhat??

go for the 400 watt from htg, the 150 is only like $10 cheaper. the ballast seems spot on. i may get better bulbs though.

Wow I was gone for a couple of days and this thread went all to hell, LOL.
Im still a big fan HTG even though the light shouldnt have blown. I guess it's not the prices or the product, It's how nice polite and their willingness to make sure the customer was happy. There is alot to be said about that now days companies like that are getting harder to find.
OH and Im not Gangster Either is that OK?

Well just to add my dos pesos.
I ordered a 400w hps on the 30th from their ebay site. I was able to get everything for 150 including shipping. I was excited and figured i'd get it next week b/c of the 4th... well to my surprise it showed up yesterday!! And for the price you can't beat it. And they sent me a bad ass little can opener lighter :mrgreen:

I've purchased mylar and this light. No problem and it was quick! Huge thumbs up for HTG!

We bought our t5 system and some other stuff from there... came within a few days and it's been working great! I would... and probably will... order from there again!

You guys buying these $150 400 watt setups from htg are you getting digital switchable ballast for that cost or just the old heavy outdated magnetic ballast that you have to use conversion bulbs that loose tons of output via the conversion? I hope your buying digital ballastsand not wasting $150 on old inefficient magnetic technology. Make sure its digital setups

I like digis and all, but Im sticking old school magnetic for a few years till digitals prove they can last 5 years like magnetics can....

haha have fun GG, I'll see you in 5 years, when everyone has gone digi and your sending your old magnetic ballast in for repair. just an idea...I have a PC that my mother recieved from ENRON corp. in 1998, it hasn't been more than debugged since and works like a charm, its outdated but it still WORKS. Digital is the way of the future old timer....

yea packaging isent bad at all, nothing about growing on the package at all, i brought my my 250watt HPS/MH conversion setup (kicks ass by the way) in the box upstairs and told my dad it was speakers : D Best of Luck to u

Thanks bro been waiting for that comment, would such balls shipping to an apt after paying good money to have a big ass weed leaf on the side or commercial industrial lighting or something big printed on a side......

for those interested, I just got a 250mh and 400 hps ballast kits, and a400 hps bulb from HTG . It took about 30 min. to wire both the ballast and the whole thing only cost $160 bucks. The instructions are so easy to follow, and the lighter comes in handy. Only took 1 week for shipping. Now all I need is for my bread tubes to arrive (ebay $25 for two, and that was a high price) HTG, BEST DEAL IN TOWN!!!!

IDK man,I always hear that HTG is really cheap,yada yda..BULLSHIT!!To me,HTG is actually rather expensive,and Ive found MUCH cheaper websites....theres cheaphydroponics.com...with is extremely cheap lol...oh and go to ebay and search for a "SunSet Hydropnics"...cheapest prices ANYWHERE and oh yeah,FREE SHIPPING!!!on eevry order..no exceptions...you gotta be smart about where your ordering from man..for ex I heard that BGHydro kept a guys order details for like 3+years!!!No cool man..what ever happened to "discreet"service??

And,sometimes you gotta be creative...check out the local scene,see if you can get supplies locally without havin' to pay shipping...get mollases at the supermarket...BOOM you got a wonderful additve for next to nothing..


BTW,some of thesel these "wonderful,plant addtives"are nothing more than mollases in a fancy bottle with a neat label lol...come on guys,think

HTG just has the cheapest complete light systems of any website, also a few other things are cheaper.

But cheapHydro does have good priced ventilation.

Idk..have you checked out HIDHUT?digital hps ballasts for 75dollars..but yes htg has the cheapest "plug and grow"systems

$150 for 1000 watt magnetic

$179.95 for a 600 watt digi that also comes with a Socket set, HTG
$159.95 for a 1000 watt magnetic that looks a HELLAVU lot better than HIDHUTS budget grow ballast.
