No clue what I've spent over the years.
I know it's going to go up a bunch of $$$ when I buy my next toy, a rosin press.

about 3/4 of your list is crap....

plant label plastic sticks-5$ make them out of old containers for nothing
magic butter machine~150$ i use a 25$ crockpot and get perfect results
bubble magic hash washer ~ 150$ a 5 gallon bucket and a stick works
nova ardent decarboxylator lift ~ 150$ useless, the crockpot or butter maker decarbs by itself
trim bin by harvest more ~ 60$ i use 3 dollar dish tubs from walmart
chikamasa flourine scissors ~25$ ....not that bad, good scissors don't make your fingers hurt as much
herbsnowdryer~150$ worse than useless. bud isn't supposed to be dry now, it's supposed to be dry when it dries. it's supposed to take a few days, to allow sugar, carbs, and chlorophyl to break down.
if you want to spend 400 dollars on a tent, go ahead, but you aren't taking it camping, it's going to sit in the same place, not exposed to the weather....i bought a 150 tent 4 years ago and it still looks like new, except for the floor liner.
a good ph and ppm meter are a necessity, but 200 seems a little too much. i got decent units for around 35 each, been using them both for over a year and they've required very little adjustment. the ph meter has required no adjustment, the ppm meter was 2 points off once.
You have some good points, and I have used all the things you've listed. In my experience out of everything, theherbsnow dryer was the biggest waste of my money, but I still really like it. It frees up alot of space in my little home so to each their own. Winter time I can't use this thing which is lame but, It worked great during my humid season. Next year I'm going to grow hops and use it to dry them.

the butter machine was free from my pops, and I like the product alot. Takes alot of the hassle out of it
the bubble machine was free after I processed my buddies trim for him. He bought it and didn't know how to use it. I did the work for him and as payment he gave me the machine. Using this is better than the old spoon technique because it uses centrifrugal force with the ice and breaks less trichome heads
the decarber i bought so I can make more potent, less weed tasting edibles

you have your own opinions and think of all these things as a waste, but realistically they were worth it for me because it makes processing my harvest way easier and less time consuming.
the trim bin was definately worth it, and you probably wont be convinced until you've had the experience of actually using one.. It is hard for someone to say something isn't worth the money when they haven't even used it don't you think?
Sure some things were a waste of money, but some things arent.

the ppm and ph pens are 10 years old and work still.. I think they were worth the money. Bluelab . I do agree that there are cheaper, ones out there that work just as well.

400$ tent. I had a cheap one before, didnt like it, and now I have a good one. If I wanted to I could bring it outside and camp in it.

about 3/4 of my list seems like things you haven't tried

Wow, what some people spend boggles the mind.

I can see spending thousands on larger grows but not some of these small indoor grows costing thousands. But if you buy into all the overpriced cannabis specific products I guess the cost can add up quick. That's why I don't buy cannabis specific products. Treat cannabis like the plant it is and not some mythical Unicorn that needs fairy dust to grow and people could cut their costs significantly.

You do realize all those items burnout and a "boat" analogy is poor at best
My wife refers to a boat as a hole in the water in which to throw money into
My buddies refer to a "boat" as "Break Out Another Thousand "
Your cost are higher than you think
My costs are what i say they are. Also the boat analogy was me saying ppl have much more expensive hobbies, mine can make me money. I understand depreciation and how assets devalue over time especially boats and vehicles. I think u missed the point.

Excactly, so there are cannabis specific products which have been designed deliberately to work on cannabis (eg AN fert) so they give good results.

I can get better results using the same ferts I use in the vegetable garden as people using AN. There is nothing special about cannabis. It requires the same things as most other plants. I see all these pictures of crappy looking plants from people using these "Cannabis" specific products to know they are not needed. It's all marketing, stoner science and just blatant lies from many of these companies. But feel free to spend as much on one grow that myself and many others spend on dozens of grows.

I don't buy into all the bullshit, youtube infomercials, and all the other "You need this" crap. I've been growing plants of one kind or another for fifty years.

Go take a browse in the marijuana problems section and look at all the fucked up plants people are growing despite using AN or "X" cannabis specific brand and paying ten to twenty times what those in the know do.

Fancy labels and cool sounding names don't grow good cannabis. A good grower that keeps the environment nice and feeds properly with any nutrient will have great success. Newer growers that buy into the marketing nonsense and follow some ridiculous feeding chart that has you using a dozen bottles of unnecessary shit are not growing anything better than me. All their doing is transferring their money to some shysters bank account.

But feel free to spend $100 a grow on nutrients. I'll spend less than that for a couple of years worth of very good grows. Take a look at the labels on these cannabis specific nutrients. Same shit as products that cost a fraction of the price. It all comes down to the elements and AN nitrogen is no better than the bulk calcium nitrate I buy for dirt cheap just like all those fancy bloom boosters and such are made with the same MKP, potassium sulfate, magnesium sulfate, etc... that I buy in bulk as well for pennies of what it costs to buy AN overpriced nutes. Plant science is real. Cannabis specific marketing is crap.

I have used general gardening ferts for my first grow, I managed to keep them alive. But I am doing better using MaxiGro/Bloom.

Then you should have said that, dipshit, instead of taking cheap shots at DIY guys.
"All the broke 'diy' guys who act like it's cool to have a half ass setup held up by duct tape can do that, but I consider my tent like someone considers their hot rod. Or boat. Etc. Take pride in everything you do. If being cheap is your way of having pride then do it. Pride for me is knowing I have a top of the line grow set up. "

And once again, I laugh in your face at spending $450 and calling it a top of the line set up, while calling others 'broke' and 'cheap'. Enjoy your bagseed, rockstar.

Lol. I, too, am a broke DIY guy. Maybe one day I can have an awesome $450 set up. Hopefully...

I'm up to about $450. And I still have more to do. This is an amazing hobby. Priceless, imo. After I get my next light I'll be around 650$ but I'll be able to fill a 4x4 and vent it perfectly, keep it lit up. Will hopefully produce some sense nugs. I have no problem spending money to produce these flowers. You lost all credibility when you said tent. One of my lights costs more then your whole set up. Stop being a fuck boy noobCB1AA983-FC26-4F4C-B7F2-92B1C9D4C20F.jpeg

But you posted this.....this is a Ford Pinto part that you stuck in your Mustang.

"I'm looking for just that, I bought a 20$ vivosun 6 inch fan but it's super loud. I'm willing to spend more than 20, was just testing the waters. Need a fairly cheap quiet efficient fan/filter combo please? "

"So I can use a 4'' filter with this 6'' fan? That's good to know. Also I'm looking into the exhaust. I bought some ducting yesterday online, hopefully it's insulated, lol. Didn't realize I needed insulated until after I ordered. "

A hot rod can't run if the air filter is restricting the input, and you stuck a 4 cylinder motor in a car designed for an 8 cylinder.....That $20 fan is not going to run anything but a dust filter, never a carbon filter. What size ducting did you buy? Hopefully not 4 inch also...
