im not saying my ratios are better ... dwc is different

for all I know I could do to raise my N maybe who knows... I set my ratios by establishing the bottom number I need to not show deficiency

but if I was using your gear I would mix

for bloom
1.5 grams per gallon Ca N
2 grams 5-12-26 mix
1.5 grams Mg sulfate Epsom

which yields

N 88
p 28
K 114
Ca 75
Mg 38

well your salts may not have the same limitations and maybe you can keep a low P without raising the S.. im not sure

I also don't use phospuric acid as a ph down... I use sulfuric acid I get from auto parts store... its 4x the strength and $10 a pint

I have never grown in DWC so I really shouldn't be giving you direction anyway

The currently fashionable ratio for N-P-K is 3-2-4, that is to say that there is twice as much K as P, and split the difference for N.

The above equates to roughly a 3-1-4 ratio, not enough P?

You are providing a perspective and that is valuable. I've run coco before, the differences aren't so much.

I raise my P with MKP, so I don't need to add sulfur.

28 ppm of P is what your currently running with the amounts you provided...you posted you use 2 grams of P per gallon in your bloom formula

given only those elements you stated you use in your bloom mix you would need to raise the K drastilcy to get the P up

the addition of mpk or monopotassium phosphate makes a world of difference in how i would mix it... I didn't realize your where making that addition

I thought the question was how would I mix it using only the 3 elements you mentioned

OOPS! Sorry, I totally forgot to add the MKP into the bloom ratios!
I run .5g/gallon of MKP (0-52-32) in bloom.

Try that again? LOL
 
I was thinking..another factor ... for me is water frequency

if I water 1 time an hour I can run lower N without sign of def

but if I water 1 time every 2 hours I need to raise the EC to avoid the n def

dwc is running water 24/7 so I would imagine it makes a difference

The main advantage of RDWC (recirculating deep water culture) is that the plant has constant access to water and nutrients, thus never a need to slow down for the lack of them.
 
for my set up I would mix it

1.5 grams Ca N
2 grams mix
1,5 g mg-s
0.4 g mpk

N88
P52
K144

if I ran the K any higher I would end up with mg or Ca lock out

but I also have soft water
ph 6.0 from the tap

Much better! I believe an even bigger factor in dialing in nutrients than media is environment. Humid vs dry, hot vs cool. Another important factor is lighting. For example, I can run about 1.7 EC with HPS lighting, but the plants thrive at 1.9-2.0 EC with 860W CDM lamps.
 
I ran my EC that high for a long stretch of time and was never happy with the yield .. the more I lowered it the higher my yield became...

for me .. that high an EC created stretch ... lots and lots of stretch

I guess if your not showing sign of Ca def (red spots) or Mg def (taco curled leaves) then your fine

I don't feed as much Ca as you so you might not suffer the def symptoms that I doo from the higher K

do you seem to always be chasing magnesium?

I get red petioles and stems sometimes...

the red is hard to say... some times some strains just have it.... It could be low N in some cases but not in yours

I have had it in veg and I felt it got better with a bit more P or at least that's what I guessed...

have you removed the large fan leaves?
