Honestly with my Krieger Barreled Remington 700 with handloads shooting from a seated position off a sandbag I can make a nice cloverleaf at 200 meters.

None, anyone that needed to be shot got shot. You just concentrate on that front sight tip and squeeze off a round. A bit disconcerting the first time you target a human willingly, but when you see them with an RPG you only care about self preservation to tell the truth.

I also am much better trained than police, In fact I probably shoot more in one week than 99.9% of police shoot in training in a year.
Well good for you. I didn't want to get into a pissing contest when I made my first post in the thread. I was supporting the OP. You break into a home in our culture and you're likely to get shot. I simply pointed out that even someone such as myself (I abhor violence) would defend my home. I personally would attempt to avoid taking a life. It is because of my experience both that I would wish to avoid taking a life and that I would have the nerves to remember to, even if I were in mortal danger.

I my country they do some sick shit to people when they home invade, torture, rape, murder and they don't steal anything. South Africans are at the stage of shoot first ask questions later, dangerous outlook but that's how it's become here.

In SA we have a major race problem, the goverment keeps trying to seperate the races by doing things like this; A white guy is sleeping in his bed, a noise wakes him up, he sees a black guy trying to climb though his window with a firearm in his hand, the white guy shoots the black guy dead, the black guy falls out of the window and lands in the garden, it becomes a racist murder and the dude is still in prison to this day, camera's around his house confirm the white dudes story, but because a white guy killed a black guy, it was a racist killing and he must suffer. Sad country SA has become.

Ten foot away with a AR-15, standing position until I fell off loft onto ground floor. Pic taken from ground floor. Impressive, huh?
Good one! You hit the narrow side of the barn.
Standing position is called 'Offhand' in marksman terminology, Then you have kneeling, seated and prone. Prone is laying on your belly and is the most stable position. Most people with a modicum of skill could hit people sized objects at 500 meters with an AR-15 using iron sights, unsupported, and hit them 95+ out of a 100 tries in the prone position. It's that good.

Clover leaf? Nice cock and balls.... Intentional?
Hahaha!! I never even noticed until now!!

Cloverleaf is just shooter parlance for any target where all the holes made by the bullet are all touching. when you just shoot 3 shots ( because it's easier to get 3 to all touch than 5) it tends to look like a clover, but I couldn't find any of those because I tend to only shoot 5.

It wasn't intentional, I'm not THAT good. I'm no Martin Riggs.

Even I would shoot.

However, I do have the wherewithal to not kill, even when in mortal danger.
A lot of people want to sound like bad asses. If you're really good with your piece, you can at least try to avoid killing. I wouldn't expect most people to be able to make a moral decision in such a situation. Most police can't even do that. All I said was that I would be able.

so why in the fuck ? would you only shoot to wound?? This is absolutely absurd and how even more innocents could get hurt. not to mention open yourself up to a lawsuit. If you are gonna pull a weapon, you better damn well be willing to go the distance.

and before you ask...no i've never shot someone. Hope I never have to either, but I can say with absolute certainty I wouldn't go for a leg shot... wtf???

I don't reckon you have been in a situation like that, it's hard to think straight, you first emotion is to protect yourself. I reckon they only way to make that moral decision is if you used to people shooting at you, when you lose the emotional attachment. Me personally, I don't think I could make that decision and if you hesitate well then you screwed in most cases.

I doubt this is true.

I didn't say that. You just completely turned what I said into something else. I said nothing like that. If you must know how to avoid killing a person who is armed, you take fucking cover and tell them to surrender. There are many ways to do it but it always requires balls and nerves. It's also risky. The alternative is to kill.
