Oh you are welcome Doug, I always enjoy talking with our northern neighbors visiting the coastal state parks here in Oregon. Or I used to, fuck 2020. My wife and I joke that we can tell if a campsite has Canadian visitors by the extremely elaborate blue tarp shelters that are erected. Is tarp building 101 a required class in school? :bigjoint:
LOL, no but they are an optional course. I can also make a brush shelter and create working hand/bow drills. Those were extra credit. :bigjoint:

Doug,

We're all stoners here so take a puff before taking offense to anything I say :bigjoint: ... also keep in mind you have a LOT of posts saying basically the same thing, so I strive to be a voice of reason.

I have high expectations and am the type of guy who will boycott a company over little shit if I think its an indication of a big problem. But bro, I just think you read it wrong this time maybe?

I am glad you noted how great Mandy was, because that was my experience as well dealing with HLG Canada numerous times. When I noticed some of my newer 550 had a Meanwell driver instead of the Samsung I was immediately tweaked because these are expensive lights. I sent an email and found the quick reply and explanation satisfactory. I guess people can argue over which driver is better but my lights have a great warranty and I supported at least in some part Canadian and Americans in doing so. They've been great so far.

I've looked at the sticker on one of my 550 just now. Its a "nice" sticker... in that its not something blown off on an inkjet. It has standards info and other stuff as you're aware. My understanding is that HLG Canada is just the Canadian distributor. So lets imagine high demand for the new product, units arrive from USA... and they don't have the right labeling. You've sold the units and customers are waiting. Do you just send the units out to customers because they are the right product and the customer probably wants it ASAP, or do you wait for the USA mfr to send along stickers? Who knows. All I am saying is you got the right light, and I don't see any evidence of the blatant awfulness you accuse them of. Sounds like you had a good experience with Mandy, who you knew to be a reliable source of info. Seems the sticker issue was explained. I guess its possible the sticker issue is an indication of something bigger but its slim evidence if you ask me?

Would it have been better maybe to just chill when you first emailed them and wait and see instead of freaking out here? No wonder companies wind up creating insane policies... to insulate from madness. Would it have been better if they ceased communication with you, or if the light looked like it was poorly manufactured? Dude that light looks bomber go enjoy! I'm jealous I'm stuck with these crappy old 550 :D

I'm no fanboy. My opinion is still "we will see". Maybe they are more hype than result. Maybe you can diy better etc etc. But from what I see, you got what you paid for, you got communication, and you're missing a sticker :peace: :blsmoke:

LOL, that's interesting but you missed the point. No company should intentionally mislabel a product, period. It's that simple, if you cannot see the issue there than clearly you have lower standards than I in such things. Also lower standards than those who make the laws to ensure people don't do this. You do realize it is illegal to label stuff with the wrong info don't you? It is also illegal to import stuff with the wrong label? The fact that you are ok with a company intentionally breaking the law is a bit sad. Saying customers are waiting so just sell them anyway is not a good business practice. As for saying I am freaking out I just say you are the one not reading this right. I did not state the product was bad and gave credit to Mandy for trying to help. What I did bring up was that the first person who answered my call about this issue gave me totally wrong info so that is a problem. When Mandy got a response from USA I was also not happy with that as they stated they did it on purpose. This is not a mistake, it is an intentional creation of a problem. They also stated they have had multiple complaints about the same issue yet kept doing it. That shows a lack of concern for those buying their expensive products, also not a good thing. The reality is I have only stated facts, have not exaggerated anything and only spoken to my experience with the company. If that is beyond what their reputation can handle they should have not created the issues in the first place. Funny you seem to object to me posting the facts of a situation where I have been fair and honest yet defend deceiving business practices as no big deal. I don't really get that way of thinking but to each their own. Now I came to give an update to this so I will get to that and leave you to your day. Take care.

Hey all, so I get an email from HLG Canada today and they are going to ship me a proper sticker to place on my light. It shows that Mandy from HLG did what she could and got my issues resolved so kudos to her for that. Hopefully they will re tag all their stock that was labeled wrong so nobody else has to go back and forth with them about it. Just wanted to give all an update to say they came through in the end.

Honestly to me it was more about them doing the right thing, I will likely never sell it but am happy it will be made right. I will let you know about the heat once it is set up. Started germinating 4 seeds yesterday, should be going into coco plugs tonight as all 4 had popped open this morning. Just got to finish my one plant in my tent first and than take out the HPS light. I will document the grow and post it. I am expecting great things from this light and don't think I will be disappointing.

The fatty is 1200 in us I really don't know which to go with
Dan at Timber is a super straight up dude. Before you buy anything really look into Timber. Even call or email him with questions. I have t he 4vl and I couldn't be happier with the light or with their service. I just ordered some cables to move my drivers and their response was fast. They made me a far red 730 nm light bar to whatever length I wanted. They mailed me extra fuses free when I used one a couple years ago. There are spares on the units but they sent me a spare for the spare I used. Great service and powerful lights.
Also sorry it's not !y thread. My bad Doug.

Wanted to add that she was started under LEDs then moved out then because of the weather brought back indoors. 3 weeks since first sign of flowers.
That sir is awesome. I am excited about my new light. Germinated my 4 seeds, they popped and grew great tap roots, they are now in coco plugs. Pretty happy to see them grow great tap roots in less than 20 hrs. Will be putting them under my cheap blurple light in the back room for a week or 2 and than chopping my current plant, removing HPS light and getting to work with my new HLG. Good times are a comin.

So just a quick update. HLG came through and sent me a new label to put on my light. Many thanks to Mandy at HLG Canada for fixing this issue. Now if only my big plant would finish I can install this light in my tent and throw my 2 week old seedlings in. Gonna be a fun ride.
Sweet. That's what I expected from HLG. Awesome man. I know it's just a sticker, but that's awesome they made it right.
