Help choosing most efficient cobs

Take No.2!
One LM301b bar would be perfect for a 2x 4' area... The only thing I don't like is the way dimming is integrated. I would remove the 4 step switch and use a 100k poti instead ... this allows stepless dimming down to 6-10%.
How much is a 100k poti? Would dimming it that low just let me throw my seedlings under it sooner?

You could use it from seed to harvest, mate. Such poti's costs only pennies. I always take a 10pack B100k poti's from e3ay for ~2$ or so. Then I use a multimeter to test it's real maximum resistance. The best one is the one with 108 to 110k. Such a poti allows to get up to 108% out of your driver.
Probably you need only to remove the switch from the blue and white dimming wires and connect the poti instead.
But I would contact bcblondes before and ask for it. I don't want to be responsible if you loose the warranty.

If you are from the EU area I would recommend DIYLED. The shop owner is from GB and member of this forum too( @diyled ) and he can ship via GLS which also means no custom fees within the EU. You can ask him for preinstalled COB- or strip kits if you like and you can also get fixtures based on Samsungs latest 220lm/w diodes(LM301b).

Edit! Here's the link:

Thank you my brother. Just shot him a message

Cannabis is a C3 plant. It does not "do" anything during the night cycle. C4 plants use the night cycle to process CO2 using stored energy (in the form of ATP).

Emerson Effect occurs at 680 nm and 700 nm. Emerson found that both wavelengths together increased photosynthesis by about ten percent more than if only one or the other frequency was used. It is probably the most misunderstood concept in plant biology. All it really showed is that there are two different chloroplasts at work, one with an absorption peak at 680 nm and the other is at 700 nm. Nothing more. When compared to the total photosynthesis occurring when a plant is bathed in strong white light, the Emerson Effect is completely buried and is quite insignificant.

IMHO, chasing the Emerson Effect is a complete waste of time unless you plan to grow under very weak light.
ok, so i was close, and not wrong, not right, lol..

I just chopped my 2x 12/12 from seed, dried, 82 grams, not to shabby. So is 200Watts considered weak lighting,? and probably still going to use the 730 puck during the day. Not doing any harm,

Oh, and I ended up cutting off that branch farthest to the right,

not sure if greengenes youtubes are still up but that was some great COB porn as well
I think they are still there. I looked a week or so ago when I was looking for Mau5 comparisons of HPS to COB. Looks like only Mau5 tutorials are up and all grow vids have gone.
Not sure if he is a victim of the new youtube policy or if he has removed them since he moved and got involved with ChilLED.

Finally thinking about constructing a bigger luminus cob structure instead the single driver setup.
I am planing on having 3x3 total of nine on one structure and four structures with 6 cobs each for my 4x8 tent, total of 24.
Can you guys please tell me which is the best driver to run a 6x Luminus cxm22 3500k 90cri cob setup.
And which driver to run a 9x luminus cxm22 3500k 90cri cob setup.
And besides just the driver, what else do i need?

going to be a nice rig.. for the 6cob build, the HLG-480H-C1400b will work great. for the 9 cob rig, it gets complicated. need to use 3 of the HLG-240H-C1400b.

Then, u need to figure out if your going passive or active cooling. at 1400ma, i use active cooling myself. They get pretty warm without the active cooling, i would think, Cobskit would know about more of that.

$670 just for Cobs and heat sinks with fans..
$186 for Hlg-240's (3 drivers)
$144 for the hlg-480
$30 driver for fans
wagos, aluminium rail, rivets ??
Prob use a power hub station, for on/off control.

so, $1050 just for the most important parts, plan it out on paper,lol..

Migro just did a comparison with cxb3590 and Luminus 32cxm, They put the cxb in the same encasement and lens like they use for their Migro line (luminus32) Its on Utube if u want to check it out. This is at 12inch above canopy, Open area.

Still haven't decided... I'm having a hard time with understanding the tech, but now I think I get it. more or less ;)

I'm thinking to go for 6 cobs @ 3x3, using cxb3590 [CXB3590-0000- 000N0HCD35G] or the Vero29 [BXRC-35E10K0-C-7X10] run at

The goal is to get the most ppfd per buck for my space. Should I go for two 3-cob fixtures on seperate drivers or one for all 6?
Which driver/s would be best? Trying to be in the 900-1200 ppfd range. That's essential.

Please help guys, I really need a clear answer bacause I'm struggling with this for weeks.. I don't care about the life of the lamp, I want it to be in ~3/5 degrees celsious to ambient temps.

My awesome Tasty LED T2-2100 on cxb's put out 954 ppfd @ 2x2 and I didn't need to get additional fan cooling in that small tent. It ran at 2.1amps providing 50% emitter efficiency using hlg-240h-c2100b per 2 cxb cobs @75W each. I want to replicate that setup and power with a new fixture for 3x3.

Always beneficial to have 2 sets of fixtures in case your hanging heights need to vary greatly.

Thank you, that's easy to understand ;) but that doesn't answer my main questions regarding the the drivers and temps per cost.
