Nice. Great job on the journal! I like the way you trained the plants to make them even squatter (is that a word?) Sweet. I am a big indica fan, I love to see them grow. Hashberry seems to be getting popular. Can you tell us where you got the seeds? From what company I mean..

I got them from drchronic.com. I did get a male I've already got a little pollen to make some seeds with. I haven't gotten a lot yet & still may not because of the way I went about it. I'll post some pics in a bit. I've also got a clone of a male that I'm going to grow out to pollinate one of my Northern Lights #9.

Thanks for the love guys.

I got to smoke some of VicVicious' hashberry,
and it was very sweet.

I still have a sample he left me.
I'm going to let it finish jar curing.

Good luck with your grow,
wish I had some of those beans.

A well put together journal and a great job on the grow McLovin, I just read it from front to back.
It sounds like the gnats are fighting a battle they can't win, well done mate.
I love your bravery with trying new things out, it's growers like you that make it possible for the likes of me to be successful and advance our own set ups.

Thanks guys. Barking Mad almost everything I've done in my garden I've learned on this site so it's good to hear I'm passing it on.

I was to lazy to build a separate room for my males so I did a little research and can up with a little something. I cut the topped a few of the branches. I cut a hole in the bottom of some plastic cups. I put my male clippings into the cups & then placed both into a glass of water. The clippings stem should be submerged in the water.

I put them back into my flower room off the the side where they were able to get some light but not to close to my ladies. They stayed in my room for a couple of weeks until I had some pollen. I didn't get a lot because I should have waited another week before I took clippings. I've had never grew out a male before so I didn't know. I wish I would have taken a picture of a male flower ready to pop but I'm lazy. If you don't know the balls actually open & 5 or 6 tiny banana looking things will be inside. They have pollen inside them & seemed to drop their pollen in a day or so.

I used a make up brush my wife had. I gave it a good cleaning first. I wiped a little pollen on the brush then put it to a bud. I seeded one branch on #s 2 & 7. I took them out of my flower room to do it. After I pollinated them I left them outside the flower room for a few hours.

I've still got gnats. Tough little bastards to get rid of.

#1 looks to be suffering from a little burn but the others look pretty good. My clones are doing good.

My NL#9 are doing pretty good but the Matanuska Tundra isn't worth a shit. I germinated 8 MTs & 4 NLs. All of the NLs popped in a couple of days. Only one MT did, 2 more popped above the soil & after a week & a half of doing nothing I popped the seed off. They are alive but haven't grown a bit. Talk about a waste of $140. Well maybe the one will be female or I'll get lucky & one of the last 2 seeds will be female. If I only get male I'll cross it with some hashberry.

Finally all my ladies are in flower.

I decided to flush my ladies today. I flush with city water & use my garden hose. At this point in the grow I've stopped using distilled water on them anyway. I took some photos before the flush so they aren't droopy.

It's funny I didn't realize how fast they have grown until I looked back over my journal. I hate the wait. I haven't had truly killer pot in some time.

I've noticed the leaves are starting to develop a few trichs. I'm hope I don't have to spray them again but I will if the gnats become a big problem. I've only been spraying the ones on the sand in the flower room & have avoided the plants. There seems to be fewer everyday. I hope before I harvest these ladies the problem is cured.

Sand on top is not a great idea. I just wonder how much if any it filters out my nutes from the water. If I still have a gnat problem in a few weeks I'll pick up some small rocks to spread out on top of my plants in the veg room.

I threw out what I had left of my soil mix. I cleaned my tub & sprayed it down with a pyrethrin mix. I let it dry out for a few days. This time I mix the soil my self instead of buying some organic potting mix.

60 lbs top soil
40 lbs mushroom compost
30 lbs soil conditioner
16 liters perlite
8 liters vermiculite
I didn't measure the peat moss, I probably put about 3/4 cf
I got the basic soil consistency the way I wanted before I added the good stuff.
1 1/4 cups blood meal
1 1/4 cups blood meal
1 1/2 cup dolomite lime
1 1/2 cup of aluminum sulphate
1 TBS muriate of potash
1 TBS copperas

I let everything sit over night then I pH ed. It was 7 so I added a little more aluminum sulphate to bring it down to 6.7. I like to hit 6.8 but I used all my aluminum sulphate so I didn't want to go over.

The list above is the final mix I started out with less of of a few things but added more to get the everything right, or at least I hope better than the last soil. :blsmoke:

I think the gnats are out of my grow room & I haven't seen many in my veg room. The few I have seen I've been quick to spray.

My plants are looking pretty good. I put a dehumidifier in my room & had more heat issues. So now the intake to my room is hook to the duct work of my central air system. She stay a nice 82 degrees now with everything running. RH is between 50 & 55%.

A few bud pics.

I been watering with a 16 oz soda bottle since I started grow. I finally bought something better. Man if you don't have one of these get one now, it's so much nicer than that old bottle.

First off +rep for the pollinating of the branches, you have the balls to try what we all would like to do but are too leary. You will be smoking on some fine ganja soon. Your set-up is great, your strain stellar and love for the grow below none. I look foward to seeing the end result and wish you all the best, GOD SPEED

damn looking amazing:blsmoke: i gotta learn how to do that tie down thing with the branches it looks like it really makes a big difference in the size of the plant.
