Hello my dear growers all around the world! I've been alone with few questions on my mind, so I'm willing to get help with these questions and I hope the questions will be answered with honesty.

First I wanna say that growing weed in my country is strictly illegal. One of the reasons why I grow weed is to support the "high culture" in my country. I also want to understand the process behind the legal weed production. I'm not against the use of THC products or psychedelics and I've also wanted to work for a legal weed business some day.

I've had a grow once before and I'm used to plan, schedule and study stuff before taking action on anything. Latest grow could have been better but was still successful.

I've been planning on building a fake window on my setup (hidden exhaust output).

How safe is it to have one on your setup? Will this big black canvas window be suspicious from the perspective of my neighbors? Here's a link to define what I mean by exact:

Lastly, in my country cultivation is a huge thing. The people who do a lot of farming here, the people who own these massive fields of wheat and other plants, these people need massive amounts of nutrients, so their solution is usually to produce their own nutrients.

So could I make my own nutrients? I mean, how hard would it even be, realistically? I mean full mixtures of micro -, macro - and bloom formulas.

There is several videos online that show that it is possible to make your own nutrients. Only thing is that the videos won't tell you how much the food waste contains different substances that can be later used as a fertilizer. As an example question: How much can an average size banana have potassium in it, when measured in -mg's?

Besides, I need to know the right form of the substance to make it accessible for my plants but when done right, producing your own nutrients could save a fortune.

When replying I hope you will greet me by saying: "respect from your country here". I hope this article will create some creative conversation and general innovative thoughts about growing.

I Hope you will have a nice 2020 and Peace out!

My setup:

- Tent: 2,0m * 1,5m * 2,0m.
- Hydro: Four bottles that each hold 1l of water, (for rooting phase). Four buckets that each hold 10l of water, (for rooting and veg phase). Four containers that each hold 45 - 40l of water, (for veg and grow phase).
- Lights: One 1000w LED.
- Exhaust and other air conditioning: Carbon-filter, a fan that exhaust air by 350m³ / 1h and a one oscillator fan.
- Ducting: 2m of noise cancelling ducting.
- Other: Temp. - and a PH-meter.

Setup uses passive air intake (open loop).

Looks like you’ve got the right mind set for success. Maybe you should steer more towards an organic soil grow if you have no access to hydro nutes.

I think soil is good too. The reason why I chose hydro is mainly because its much more easy to get very much water, than to go and get the same amount of soil. I would need to use about 200kg of soil before I could harvest maximum yield. I have access to hydro nutrients but they are really expensive so I've planned to buy my next nutrients in powder form.

@spek9 might be able to help you further.

calcium Nitrate and mono potassium phosphates are the initial dry Chemicals you’d need but I’m unsure what else.

spek May be able to help or point you in the right direction.

I use:

- Jack's 5-12-26
- Calcium Nitrate (15.5-5-0)
- Monopotassium Phosphate (MKP) (0-52-34)

The MKP only gets used from week 2.5 after switch to 12/12 and beyond.

I also use Botanicare Cal-Mag Plus as a Calcium additive. My water is only 65 PPM so I need the Ca boost (I'm in Sunshine #4 inert peat), but can't bump the Calcium Nitrate because I start seeing N toxicity. I'm currently investigating ways to make my own Ca in a water soluble powder so I don't have to buy anymore Cal-Mag (my Mg levels are fine even without Cal-Mag).

For a Magnesium additive if you don't need the Cal-Mag for extra Ca, one can use Epsom salt.

And the bonus with Epsom salt is that it gives you extra sulphur during flowering to help terpenes.
