You really need to hit the FAQ section of the forum. Spend some time there... I sure did when I first joined. There is so much basic info in there...you will love it!!

Ok...restate ur question again? I didn't quite get what you were asking me....

I was just asking if I am going to care for mine for about 2 months before putting them into the ground, should I use some type of nutrients and/or fertilizer? And should I continue it, if when I water them int the summer and so on? And the second part of my questions is what kind of nutes/ferts should I use...

Yes you should give them a veg fert especially for the first 2 months.

Use a basic ratio like 3-2-1. 3 parts N to 2 parts P to 1 part K. That's the front of your grow. then when they bud out....reverse it. 1 part N to 2 parts P to 3 parts K.

thanks you so much for that, do you have any specific brand or brand name that you could point me too?thanks...... then when a week before I harvest I should flush it by doubling the water do-sedge? just what I herd. And could you possibly tell me at what point from a little seedling to a a giant bush when does it produce the heat it gives off? if that sounds right.....

O yea I forgot one thing. One of my plants is between 6-8 inches, and it has been very windy these past few days the plant looks healthy. I was curious if anyone had like popped there stem or lets say put slight pressure and squeeze it till you hear a a pop when it is 6-8 inches. Which lets not make fun of me hear since I dont know the proper terminology but it would force double the stuff it already pushes up through the leaves after having popped whatever you did with how i tiold you above. Outcome from it, its a thicker stalk or lets say fuller buds> IDK just something I herd and was wondering... thanks a bunch again

I use a professional nursery fertilizer, but in the end...just pick up something with micro nutrients added and/or humic acid.

No matter how fertilizer is derived, be it chemical or organic....to the plant it is all the same. It only sees N-P-K. The marketing is for the humans and their money.

Chemical ferts are faster acting and if you go crazy with them...you will burn the weed.

Organics are slower going, but again...you can burn plants with them too. It just takes longer to show up.

Just follow he directions and don't get impatient. Usually the grower ruins the plant, not the fert....although the fert is usually blamed.

U R talking about "topping" a plant. yes, it will make the stem stronger and give you more than one main cola. You can get as many as four colas if you do it properly.

So do you think it is worth me being a greenhorn in using them? and I can get everything I need at a local nursery? I probably sound stupid for asking all of this but how is the ferts/nutes applied? mixed in with the watering of them each time you go out? for instances I will be only able to water them once or twice good every other week, in hopes for a humid hot rainy summer. So therefore I would add them in when I water? And for the topping lol lets just not get into that right yet...... I have lost of questions about that lol... I thank you alot for helping me out man.....

If you can get a nursery to sell you fert... you will probably end up with a better version than you can in any weed shop...that's for sure.

Weed is basically an annual, so it can always be top dressed with ferts, meaning there is no need to mix it into the soil media. Either liquid or solid... you can just apply it to the surface.

As for how often...again...read the label...they work very hard in a lab to come up with the correct amount and when to apply it. Baby plants get diluted ferts usually about 1/4 strength at first and then slowly building up to full strength.

Questions you have... but I have the answers.... so far .

I don't know if the nursery will sell you fert. just a guess on my part. Just tell them it is for tomatoes.... everyone grows tomatoes. Tomatoes are also Nitrogen hungry so it's a good match up.

I buy directly from a wholesale distributor.... I do not need to buy from a nursery. I also buy a pallet at a time. That helps.

And probably dont want to give a name up? Maybe you you should me something a name I can look up on here? its cool if not too...... thanks alot... i got the nuet/ferts covered now well when I know which one exactly to buy, but after this response from you maybe get into topping lol? just curious on where to cut it.... too scared ill fudge up. I know the basic part of the plants but i dont know the names I cant just generally describe how or what the thing I am describing looks like.. Noobish kind of terms but trying my best lol

PS..... When exactly do you apply the nutes when its budding... like as soon as you see them appearing?

The name of the fertilizer is Osmcote Pro. It is the best quality fertilizer Scott's makes, and is not typically found in stores. The coated fertilizer is designed specifically to push N on the front part and K on the back end. Finely tuned stuff for ppl who's incomes depend on a quality plant.... nurseries. There are many variations and formulations, but to get a better price you need to be in business and buy bulk.
