Grove vs Mylar. How much better are actual Grove Bags

Has anyone actually tried both? Almost every review I see is from people switching from glass to Grove or Mylar. I've never personally tried Grove bags but have used a few cheap Mylar bags and love them compared to glass.
$3 for 100 Mylar bags compared to $3 each for actual Grove bags are they really worth it?

Grove bags let the contents "breathe", mylar bags do not "breathe" unless they are specifically designed to. If they are, and you like them, use them!

Yes they are worth it. Try the search feature as many of us use Grove bags exclusively.

You MUST be able to heat-seal the Grove bags in order to get the most out of what they do. I love them!

Is the seal not good enough?

I've got 5 of the 1lb Grove bags, I really like them.
But if I sealed them with my vac pac I'd not be able to keep doing it repeatedly

I've searched a lot but haven't actually found anyone say they had better results using Grove compared to Mylar. Just glass to Grove or people resighting quotes from Groves website about letting them breathe. My mylar bags seem to let them breathe perfectly.

I would be curious how mylar would do. I use grove bags and have read other threads with LONG discussions on grove bags and curing, and it's usually a war between grove and glass. I have noticed and was backed up by other users... Grove bags will eventually dry your bud out.... depending on your environment.
If you live in a dry climate (20-35% rh), like I do, they absolutely will dry out over time, even kept in a cool basement. Grove's marketing seems to make it sound like Grove bags will auto adjust 58-62% RH, and not fall below that. Users have reported this even heat sealed.
I wonder if MYLAR would seal in the moisture better? If I put it in at 62% RH, I want it to stay there... I'm not worried about mold.

True. But what I do is I get several of the 1-ounce size and then I weigh out an ounce (or so) in each one, heat seal them all. and then store them in a cool, dark place. I break open an ounce, as needed, and then I fill my little glass jar with the buds from that ounce, that I will be smoking for the day (or so). I use the zip lock on the bag AFTER I have cut open the heat seal, obviously. That works great for short-term use. In the meantime, the other bags stay sealed for longer term, which allows them to do their gas-exchange thing. If you just use them for short-term use and continually reopen the bags, you will reintroduce more oxygen each time, causing faster degradation. If you keep the bags heat-sealed, then, eventually, the oxygen is driven off by the way the material is designed to trap some of the volatile gasses and allow oxygen to be driven out.....something like that, anyway.

I use an impulse sealer and I try to position the Grove bag so that it will be sealed as close to the top as I can get. I use a razor blade and a straight edge to cut just below the seal and leave enough room to reseal the bag if needed. Like, say I open an ounce bag, but then a week later, decide I'm tired of it, I can just reseal it and put it back into storage.

I keep mine in grove bags, in a tote with a lid, in a room that’s 55-65 rh. They work great like this.

Grove bags work great for a few times then the zipper seal usually goes bad and does not seal properly anymore. Ive tried heat sealing them but its quite a mess as the black of the bag comes off and it does not always seal. I moved on from groves to foil/mylar bags, much cheaper and works just as well for me provided the moisture of the buds is perfect when you bag them.
