Hey greenthumbs coming from the SIP thread.

I have most of the components for a SIP based in something like the one pictured in another forum thread.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?threadid=356985

Could I do a no till with EM-1 in the res with that build or would I be better off in a global bucket?

I ask because the growbox and earth box are to big for my space
Well I cant click on your link bc I dont have an account there anymore. But I don't see any reason it wouldn't work just bc its smaller. But when it comes to no till, it's better to have a big bed, life just works better in a bigger amount. Doesnt mean It cant be done tho.

Here's me newest gg4, and dam shes becoming a beauty! Between my new lights and getting my soil dailed back in, I kinda lost control of her and the growth got away from me, normaly i like to be way more controlled and uniform but like I said the growth just got away from me this round. But nonetheless shes doing great and should result in a hella nice yield.

Hey guys let me get your opinions and guesses on this possible yield of my current grow! Just for shits and giggles.

I am thinking close to 2 pounds. But a bit about the grow, its 2x plants both gg4 in a 30g sip, covering a 4x4 scrog. Running a mix of 3000k and 3500k QBs with added 660nm, IR & UV. The pics in the above post were taken this morning at day 50 of flower since flip of 12/12. Thinking about letting her run till about 58-63 days of flower, haven't fully decided yet.

This pic below is a much older run that I did, its the same strian, gg4 in a 18g sip, and I got a final weight of 1.3 pounds off of her!

Hello green, looking to cook up some soil. Not sure exactly what to use but here is what I have collected over time. I am more than willing to buy more.

I have:

Bu’s blend
Potting mix
Grokashi
Em1

Bone meal
Agriculture limestone
Blood meal
Kelp meal
Crustacean meal
Dolomite lime
Gypsum
Alfalfa meal
Need cake
Azomite
Langeinite
Oyster shell
Crab/lobster shell
Green sand
Worm castings (store bought...)
Fish bone meal

I read over your medium mixes and how it has evolved through er-ammending. How would u start a new mix today after lessons learned?

For a brand new sip, and brand new soil, I wouldn't cook anything! Just add your soil, toss in a small amount of oyster shell just to help counter the ph of the em1, and your good to go.

But do remember bag soil will probably run out faster than my recycled soil, so be on top of your top dressings. Couldn't hurt to add some extra guano or other treats to the top dressings. But keep in mind less is more!

Also toss out the dolomite lime, everything else looks good!

Also I dont use any bone meals, or blood meals anymore. They can be hot, and it's really not needed when using everything else.

And crustacean meal and crab meal are essentially the same thing, pick one.

Hey Green, Thanks for posting your Ladies they look great. have you given any thought to making your own LAB serum? It's the main ingredient in EM-1, Bokashi and can be made cheaply.

What does LAB serum is it different to LABS? I know LABS but EM-1 has more in it. like molassas, yeast and some other stuff haven't looked to deep into it. LABS is easy enough to make

I actually have a recipe from a very talented guy from this site, I'd have to dig to find it. But I've considered it before, but honestly I already have alot of work to do, I buy my bottles of em1 and just expand them to make things a little easier. One day I do plan to make my own, and also my own kashi but for now, it's worth the price for the lack of hassle.

Now as for how much they differ from each other, I really cant say bc I do not know. Like I said I dam sure dont know it all and this is still a learning process for me as well. Anyone who claims to know it all more than likely knows the least lol.

But I'd like to say regardless of how much they differ I'd put my money on saying that they both will do the same job fairly close to each other.

Yes it's the same as "LABS" I believe the original recipe of EM1 has labs, yeast, a photo bacteria and molasses. But I think I read some where that the recipe was changed to have labs, yeast molasses. Something like that. I'm still rather new to it my self.

Right on man I totally understand not having time for new projects. I actually got into this because of this very thread. So thanks for starting it and continuing to post. Some pic of the homemade LAB serum hope you don't mind. IMG_3605.JPGIMG_3626.JPGIMG_3623.JPGIMG_3624.JPGIMG_3625.JPG
