If we had a consumption tax then they would pay for all the materials they used for their businesses instead of the current tax code you seem to be fighting so hard to protect.
so what you're saying is, you're okay with fortune 500's not paying any taxes? on all their profit? on the roads you and i paid (and continue to pay) for?

What I am saying is that it is the current tax code that allows corporations to avoid paying certain taxes. BTW, if you think any fortune 500 pays NO taxes then you are delusional. Certain corporations get tax breaks FROM THE GOVERNMENT that are hyped to the point of ridiculousness.
A flat tax would be much more fair for all businesses as there would not be loopholes for the big boys over the little ones.
And BTW, I am the one advocating a change in the way we pay taxes, you seem to be the one defending the staus quo. You are making yourself look kinda silly here defending the same people that created what you consider to be a problem.

yeah. that's what i mean when i say stinkin' thinkin'..i've got my own theory which has to do with those who can accept blind faith of an afterlife yet cannot factual real time events. consistently willing to believe conspiracy theory where none exists. it's the way their brain is wired is the best way i can put it. willing to believe fantasy over reality.
EDIT: also having their belief dispelled by factual makes them more intense..like you're lying to them even though they have no facts to prove you're not. you and i believe that true and correct information makes us smarter..facts take them out of their comfort zone and has the opposite effect.

I never said taxes are not necessary, duh. It's the manner in which they're are assessed and collected that sucks. Our tax system is a big mess. Hopefully the new conservative president will support a bill to simplify it based on people's consumption as shown in my example. The top and middle tier of tax payers are picking up the tab for the rest of society's losers. It's time they pay their share.
When you get a check from the IRS (me) and you haven't worked a day the previous year is just pure bullshit. Hate to use the worn out term, but it's not fair. We need a fair tax that hits everybody in their pocketbook. That includes the typical RIU loser buying a $200 bicycle or a family buying a $200,000 yacht.

What about materials purchased abroad and imported in? Are they taxed?
Will the poor pay more taxes as a percentage of their income with this new tax scenario?

Since all you do is piss off your time in this forum, why are you worried about capital gains? Most likely you have none because you have no capital to invest, and most likely you want what doesn't belong to you. Folks' capital gains is none of your business.
Taxing capital gains works as a disincentive to invest, numb nuts. That kind of thinking is what's wrong with our system.
