if they are older i generally smile/say hello
hubby and i do too...although it is getting hard to find older people anymore--we are the older people! lol anyways it is such a small thing that could make3 someone else's day--nothing with a random act of kindness. this one time there was a female cashier at walmart--she never smiled--didn't want to be there was like an old maid or something always unfriendly(how'd she keep her job?)she was about 70 or so. anyways--hubby-is super friendly...afgter about three months or so of trying to cheer the bitch up--we were walking past her working on our way out with my in-laws and my hubby called her name and she looked up and hubby said these are my parents they are up from florida. she actually smiled! i think it was because she was waiting on other people and him talking to her she must of felt liked! it gave me goose bumps i ain't shitting you. and isn't it ironic-shortly after...she retired. hopefully a happier woman cause of a random act of kindness. quite touching
