I've had the same thoughts about how awkward it can be. Mostly this is a problem for me when I'm super baked.

but we would miss you :eyesmoke:
I see what you did thar! Haha, I would just be invisible you could still hear me, and read my post! :D I dunno, my love life sure wouldn't go down because no one could deny me based on looks and would have to go off personality and that's where I snag em lol, just need to get them talk to me and what better a conversation opener than talking about being INVISIBLE (If I don't scare the shit out of them and make them run away...guess that will just be how I weed out the weak ones  )

Mediation helped me a great deal...a holiday helps change perspectives also...if it wernt for those people take the time to be kind and say hello the world would surely be a fucked place! I hind pot has a way of disconnecting our compassion leaving some introverted...
Fear is the mind killer! Don't be scared, listen to your heart....

Haha yeah i tend to do the nod thing mostly. But i just always think it' an awkward moment.. I was on citalopram myelf a while ago ,and it does give you alot more confidence in those situations.. I actually realise how stupid it is but i can't do anything about it.Which is why i believe brain chemistry is the single most important factor above all else when it comes to our psychcology.

I'm a pretty serious walker and I know that sounds odd but it's how I see myself. I have the streets smarts to recognize a threat before it gets to out of hand and seem to know instinctively how to react in a uncertain situation. I've been known to walk 10 miles just to get out and have look around, I once walked my entire city just to enjoy the high from the LSD I took.

I have no problem engaging others and I often can sense whether someone is a "hi or walk by" kind of person, body language is key.

It costs me next to nothing to say "hello" and I get out of my head for .75 of a second. (sometimes my head is not a good place to be in. lol)
The rewards are 10 fold for me. If only one in ten make eye contact and return the greeting with a smile, it's worth it.

I smile and do the head lift/nod. If it is an older person, especially a woman, they usually are more friendly so I say hello. If it is a younger girl with a nice rack, I say, "How you doin'?"

what an interesting thought. I never put much thought into the question but you bring up valid points and now I have a feeling that today I am going to be aware of all the diffrent ways we choose to enteract with eachother. I do exactly what you do, all just depends on my mood, the situation ect... I think your on point with the the akwardness of not knowing whats appropriate and when though... I think we all do it to be honest. We just dont realy ever put too much thought into it. Got to get out of your head though and just be you! Peace.

I never realized social interaction was such a hard thing for a lot of people. I say whatever I feel is necessary, sometimes nothing at all. I don't feel obligated. I usually say something seeing as I'm naturally social, even more so high.

Your letting your fear control you....no one has power over you...you need to realize that regardless of anything thats said and done you are an awesome person and need to love yourself accordingly...you have great worth! Connect with love in your life..not just your girl...love manifests in many forms, the beauty in nature, music/sound... Just take baby steps bro, if you proactivly try a lil bit each day, your heart will open and shit will surely change for the better ....get yourself some helpful books for guidance...

Hahaha, this thread cracks me up because I can relate so much. I go on walks all the time and it's often after smoking a bowl.

The worst part is trying to decide when you should wave or say hi. I am always grappling with this issue, and I've made a fool of myself on more than one occasion by initiating contact way too soon or too late. Like, do you wait til the person is 15 feet or 5 feet away from you before you say something. Is it when you make eye contact? Do you wait for them to initiate? GOD DAMMIT WHAT ARE THE RULES???!!

I go on walks in forest/swampy areas and usually say hi to deer and squirrels but they're usually arrogant jerks and just run away....

But to be serious I spent most of my life similar to what you described.I went on citralopan( anti-D) and what a difference! Simple things are just that, simple! No more anxious feelings and unneeded stress..
I take those to and your right they make a big difference.

I'd love to run into some of them coots!

My parents basically live in the country, and I've had plenty of run-ins with animals when walking around there. Deer, fox, otter, and even bears on a couple of occasions.
