Giving up smoke for a job, focusing on the grow

I agree. That's a great opportunity to set himself up for a solid successful career
If I hadn't dicked around so much in my twenties, not spent so much on wine, women and song and been more serious about investing, I would have been able to retire at 48 instead of 58 ;)
I thought I had my mind damn near made up when I went to bed, but this outpouring of support has me reconsidering. When the holidays are over and life calms down a bit, I think I will be able to look at this more objectively and make a well informed decision in large part due to the advice of the anonymous denizens of RIU.

I sincerely appreciate all of your advice. Thank you.

Love the look and smell of them. Wish I could figure out how to bottle the fragrance into a spray
It's been figured out for you!! Any flavor / smell you want! Natural or artificial. It's what they flavor most cartridges with.

What's the the package for a journey man. Is it a 4 or 6 year apprenticeship. What do you make now. Shit I don't smoke or drink but finding growing relaxing (momma smokes thou). Weed will always be there opportunities might not. Also as someone who at anti depressants for over ten years go find a good naturopath get a full blood work up and see what they say. Find a new therapist also. At 27 you should be thinking about long term because in a blink of an eye your 47. Electricians are always in demand. I wish I could go back and pull wire 30 years. But hey your the only one who can decide what's best for you. I wish you luck

My therapist is good, trust me. Not a fan of naturopaths, but I dont judge, it just isnt for me. Its a 5 year inside wireman apprenticeship. JW rates around here is just over 40 an hour. My current line of work tops out hourly at 30, management gets 80k salary, upper management goes as high as 100k+ but I wont get there with just a GED.

Union sparkies in the bay area make around $75/hr where we only make $52. It’s fucking bullshit but if I was a sparky i’d be laughing all the way to the bank. My brother is a union plumber, they make about the same as sparkies in the bay area, as does the tin knockers too. Those three trades are 5yr apprenticeship where ours is 4.

sparkies hardly even get dirty. And hardly even work up a sweat lol. They def think they’re the smartest dudes on the job too. I say go for it but please don’t end up being a typical premadonna sparky.

If your in the right district there is money to be made. Get into the right trade with a decent package you can't go wrong especially during a boom
Thats the thing, my city is in a boom, but every boom is reliant on a strong economy. One of the people interviewing me said verbatim "as long as the fed keeps the (interest) rates low, we will be booked out for years" and they've already announced they will be raising the rates as soon as march. I know if anybody is going to lose work, its going to be the first year apprentices, and as someone with a mortgage, that fucking terrifies me. This is just a microcosm within the big economic picture that just isn't looking too bright from what little I've read.

This shit is all the more terrifying to deal with sober lol
I got in the year after highschool in ‘92. Work was pretty slow you kinda had to know someone. I stayed busy through good times and the bad. If you aren’t a dumbass and you know how to look busy when you aren’t(we always are lol) they’ll keep you busy. I say quit farting around and do it :-)

They half to have so many apprentices per jw's. Might be different where ur at not all halls are the same Look at when the housing market went bust. There are always going to be lean times. Nothing is safe but look at it like this there's a big push to go electric who's most likely to be busy. Plus once you have ur card you can go anywhere.
