Giving up smoke for a job, focusing on the grow

Tolerance Break

I have to quit smoking for the IBEW, its a nessessary sacrifice. I refuse to stop growing because I love it, it makes me genuinely happy. I am a bit bummed, but I am looking forward to growing the best bud I can.

I am curious if anybody else has had to quit and continued to grow? Did it help or hurt? What would you do in my shoes?

Here are some pics from my first ever grow, earlier this year.

Ibew is electrical is it not? I know plenty of folks here who are union and smoke. You worried about random tests?
Yeah. I know people get away with it, but I'm not going to go into the apprenticeship presuming I can beat the system. I will decide if that's a good move down the line after learning the ropes. I smoke for leisure, not because I really need to, so its not the end of the world.

I would still grow even if taking a break as I sell MJ for a living (black market). I smoke less now than before I grew, maybe a gram per day. I wouldn't risk growing if I didn't sell it or smoke it, though. Good luck on the new venture, those plants look dank and frosty.

Luckily I am allowed to grow with a medical card. My end goal is to have a well rounded skillet that allows me to work in the marijuana industry at a level where the pay isn't complete dogshit. If that fails, I want to grow the best God damn weed I can and teach others to do the same.

Quit for 27 yrs. for my job. Job that gave me a excellent wage, healthy pension, lifetime medical and all the other goodies. IBEW is that kind of job.
I didn’t grow during that time.

When I was in the trades, alot of jobs would ua during their orientations. Suck up all the work you can be, be cool with the coordinator and the dispatch dude. I saw guys who rubbed them the wrong way or put little effort in and they would try to starve them out.

If you choose a career that has random testing make sure you don’t play too much on Friday with the stuff you won’t pee dirty for Monday morning. Booze included.
No worries there. When I can't smoke weed, 4 beers is more than enough for me on a Friday/Saturday night. The closest thing I have to a vice is weed and I've quit for months at a time. If this really is the start of a long term hiatus, I welcome it.
