George W. Bush: The Food Stamp President

“more people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in American history.” -claims gingrich.

http://frac.org/reports-and-resources/snapfood-stamp-monthly-participation-data/

january 2001: 17,233,964 on food stamps.

january 2009: 32,204,859 on food stamps.

bush "put" 14,970,895 on food stamps.

october 2011: 46,224,722 on food stamps.

obama has "put" 14,019,863 on food stamps.

14,970,895 > 14,019,863

10/2011 is the latest report available. based on available raw data, newt's claim that obama has put more people on food stamps than any other president is false on its face.

second, neither president "put" anyone on food stamps. economic factors put people on food stamps. people go on food stamps during tough times. nearly 5 million people went on food stamps the year before obama was sworn in, which mirrored the fact that we were leaking nearly 800k jobs a month at the same time.

third, food stamp recipients are not often welfare bums. many food stamp recipients work hard for a living in shitty jobs to support larger families. more common with wage stagnation brought about by certain policies.

fourth, hunger is a national security issue AND a moral issue. what kind of country lets their weakest starve?

fifth, please ignore the obvious racial undertones in which newt is speaking. politicos call this practice "pandering". it is the same strategy that republicans have used for a while, catering to the bigoted tensions of the more conservative south. it has worked tremendously in the past and is still a good strategy to this day, if you have no moral compass.

discuss.

Noone here likes "the amphibian one" anyways, you're not really proving anything to anyone.
nonsense.

i have a certain fondness for newt. i would trust him more than romney to do what is right for the nation (if i had to choose one).

i would even give up many of my social issues and support santorum over romney. such is the undesirability of romney upon closest inspection.

and i can name one person offhand that does not so much dislike newt: nlxsk

for your edification, i am literally proving to you (and everyone else that has not looked at the raw data) that the claim gingrich makes is "categorically false", to use some of his own words.

this last little jab is gratuitous, but oh-so-much fun...

Newt is a career politician, sucking lobbyists off and bathing in money...how many people are surprised he lied for political gain?

Interesting information? I guess. Just more of the same He did,,,She did,,,They did...bullshit that keeps us right where they want us. Seems pretty simple to me. However,,,,, it is still frowned upon to fire without predjudice entire governments and military industrial complex's and start over from the bottom where we live lol. Apparentley that scenario is highly undesirable to a very few,,very powerfull individuals and organizations.....We have no such program up here in Canada....Just plain old welfare and our locally run foodbanks and soup kitchens.

Yawn,
You can put all the lipstick and mascara you want on BO but he is still a decietful, cowardly pig gorging on the public tit, while destroying the USA.

He has not kept any of his promises and lies about everything under the sun to cover up the fact that he is inadequate and insufficent to the job at hand.

I dont "blame" him so much as I blame the devils in high positions around him, from bankers to department heads of all the fed agencies such as the SS. I would not be suprised if he and the last couple P's have been forced to do things they did not want to in order to destroy Americas soverignity and force her to join the NWO.

I also feel he is under attack constantly from the unseen forces of evil that the Bible speaks of.

I pray God gives BO the wisdom and strength to do what is right for the USA and its people, however I feel BO does not have the moral fiber to resist evil.

lol you are partly right, so do want ketchup or mustard on your turd sandwich?

Both Bush & Obama & their daddies (the head of the CIA & Bubba from Hope Arkansas) and almost all of the R's & D's on both sides of the aisle for decades have sold out the country. It matters not if it was by design or by stupidity. They are all mostly incompetent and they all manage to get filthy rich "serving" the Country. And that right there is most of the problem.

We need to move fedguv.con to the middle of the country. Somewhere in cornhusker country. Turn the D of C into a tourist trap and charge money to see where the elite pols once lived like kings.

Make it miserable in Neb. no fancy places to eat. Make them eat cake from the dam cafeteria or bring a bag lunch. Impose term limits. Then only those who really want to serve will work hard to get business done and unconvene Congress as quickly as possible. They are suppose to be regular people, not some member of a priviliged class entitled to rule over others because they won a good looking contest,
the basterds are not suppose to "work" year round passing insane laws and regulations while screwing the hired help and anyone else who gets in their way.

Rant Off

It would be more likely that the people on this site have a greater grasp of responsibility , higher values and a much better overall moral compass than all of the politicians that are in office today . These bloodsuckers have been draining our country for decades while profiting from it's demise . Too bad that no one but from an elite group will probably hold a position of leadership in Congress or the Whitehouse
