Is any one else not proud to live in a country where the worst thing that happens to gays is they don't(very unlikely) get a cake from certain vendors?

Goddam I know that shit in not ideal, and if I were a baker I would bake up gay cakes quicker than shit but is there anywhere more gay friendly than the US in general?

well, if you ignore the hate crimes against them, the fact they have no workplace rights in half the nation, no civil rights in most of the nation, unequal access to protection of the law, and so much more, then you might have a point.

fucking dumbass.

now make some snide remarks about liberation theology while deriding civil rights as "not a good idea".

Do the math Buck. Hate crimes, no workplace Rights, no Civil Rights, unequal protection and so much more means ....ready ? ....Not welcome. No?

I agree

I disagree

In one sense, all sins are equal in that they all separate us from God. The Bible’s statement, “For the wages of sin is death …” (Romans 6:23), applies to all sin, whether in thought, word, or deed. In the Old Testament, God applied different penalties to different sins, suggesting variations in the seriousness of some sins.

At the same time, it seems obvious that some sins are worse than others in both motivation and effects, and should be judged accordingly. Stealing a loaf of bread is vastly different than exterminating a million people.

When Jesus spoke of his second coming and judgment, he warned that among those deserving punishment some would “be beaten with many blows” and others “with few blows” (Luke 12:47-48). He also reserved His most fierce denunciations for the pride and unbelief of the religious leaders, not the sexually immoral (Matthew 23:13-36).

I'm going to give you some credit here by saying this; I spoke to broadly, obviously "all Christians agree" is way too vast a phrase to encumpase much. There is a lot of variation in Christianity.

However, I like how you, in your research to make a counterpoint to me essentially disprove your first points in this thread. You seem to have liked Mr. Graham's saying that those who abuse clergy are worse than those who are sexually immoral.

As to your other points, about killing multiple people worse than stealing a loaf of bread, why, yes, to our civilization and society, murder is worse than stealing bread. From what I've heard, and this ranges from Greek Orthadox to Roman Catholic, to Methodist and Church of God, a sin is a sin is a sin in God's eyes. So no, Hitler is no worse as far as God is concerned than any other atheist. Those who have accepted Christ (whom hitler rejected) are a little higher up on the totem pole when compared to atheists and non-believers. However, god loves us all.

Think of it, God is created of the universe, time is meaningless to him as we understand it. God brings us to be with him when we die, so what difference does it make to God if you slit my throat or take my muffin? Events of the Earth are so insignificant to him. It doesn't make sense to me that this can be the case, but it seems to be the accepted theology in western Christianity, and even eastern.

After exploring it a little more, do you still think telling homosexuals to leave your business, that they disgust you and you choose not to serve them is still a Christian thing to do? Or do you think it is motivated by ignorance and hate, rather than a belief in what they think Jesus wants them to do?

Serving a homosexual does not make you a homosexual no more than serving a black person makes you a black person.

Be a Christian, offer your fellow man a kind word and not make him feel inferior.

Leviticus 19:19 is clearly tied to one time and one place, unlike commands relating to (for example) love for God and neighbor, honesty, integrity, and sexual behavior.

These and other prohibitions were designed to forbid the Israelites to engage in fertility cult practices of the Canaanites. The Canaanites believed in sympathetic magic, the idea that symbolic actions can influence the gods and nature…. Mixing animal breeds, seeds, or materials was thought to “marry” them” so as magically to produce “offspring,” that is, agricultural bounty in the future.

When atheists and laugh at this verse and other culture-dependent commands, what they’re really displaying is their ignorance of their own ignorance.

I've been hearing on the radio lately, I think from a talk show host named Mark Levine, often lamenting how new laws might force religious people to do things like make a wedding cake for a homosexual couple preparing for marriage.

This has been delived as an attempt to say the religious freedoms of the (pseudo)Christian are being violated if the law forces them to violate their religious beliefs by baking a gay wedding cake.

Horse shit.

As a Christian, nothing offends me more than when fellow Christians use our collective religion as an excuse for their bigotry or ignorance. Not since the crusades has a more bullshit story been attached to Christian philosophy.

The Bible says do unto others as you would have done unto you, Jesus said how you treat the least of these is how the father will treat you, and he says that the first amongst us without sin may cast the first stone.

He says a lot of other shit that makes these people look like the charlatan assholes they are.

The only thing the Bible says about homosexuality is that it is a sin, it goes on to say we are all sinners, and that a great many things are sins. Jesus goes on to say that we should have love for sinners.

So do we have any pseudo-Christians out there that are willing to challenge this?
It isnt about Christians and the Christian religion or Muslims or anything else. It is about the government forcing people to do things they have a problem with. The first amendment provides for the freedom of association. I assume the freedom of dissasociation is also a right although not enumerated. The government has decided that if a person is of a protected class as defined by the government they now have rights above and beyond the citizens of a non-protected class. We no longer have equal protection under the law.

A guy doesnt want to bake a cake for 2 lesbians and instead of going somewhere else they drag his ass all the way to the supreme court and we have idiots wondering what the problem is...

It is the intolerance of gays regarding the respecting of other people's religion obviously...

Serving gays is fine. However the level of intolerance and bigotry has risen to such high levels in the gay
community that many would insist on a Christians Muslims etc.. participating in there deviance.
Example a wedding photographer or minister being forced to take part in something against there belief.

When people shame you, and treat you like less of a human, you tend to take offense and often rebel.

Gay pride parades were a rebellion against oppression. If oppression didn't exist for gay people, neither would the pride parades.

Wow I learned in 3rd grade that if somebody else does something wrong it doesn't mean I have an
excuse to. It seems like gays now think they should have special entitlements not afforded to others.

And what would those privileges be? Throwing a parade? Wanting to have their marriages recognized?

There are lots of parades.... they just happen to do things that make some people uncomfortable. Seeing gymnasts in spandex throwing batons, doing the splits, etc., is fine, but a gay dude in a spandex suit kissing another man is 'disgusting'. Just because something makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean you can outlaw it.

You may have graduated from 3rd grade, but you still have the same mentality.

Based on what? Your expert opinion? lol
Based on reality just take a look on how they parade around naked in San Francisco.
they are certainly not discriminated against there in fact they probably have more rights than non gays.
Many members of the gay community thrive on intolerance and like to flaunt there deviance.
