When our forefathers came over, did they have welfare, food stamps, etc? No dude, they killed turkeys and farmed corn and potatoes... They worked for their living, which is the point I'm arguing. In my knowledge, there has never been a large point in time where people were starving on the streets due to government not helping them. Moreover, back on point, this country FLOURISHED when the age of men included working to put food on the table for you and your family. Pioneers, settlers, etc, they are did well for themselves without any handouts.most people on food stamps do work, smarty.
show me how better things were for the hungry before social safety net programs. the stats should pan out, that seems to be what you're arguing.
The only reason socialism or spreading of wealth is even remotely reasonable is because of the gargantuan population of our country, as well as the ratio of people to open and free land. If you haven't caught on, I'm conservative when it comes to making a life for yourself, and being able to look in the mirror and call yourself a man.
EDIT: (LOL had to)
In before Unclebuck considers trades between Native Americans and settlers as spreading of wealth and socialism!!
