all I know tomorrow is gonna be a long day for trimming but i cant wait till I start the girl needs to come down tomorrow if I feel not dead after harvesting I might start building the pvc frame for my room gonna be a nice adventure I think I might start a page when I get everything setup gonna be interesting having and considering I have a male in flower and I have no clue when they start to mature and open. very young still tho but when I have all the pvc cut then ill take the tent down and throw the plants into my veg room because ill just need to setup the frame then I wont tarp it all until I get everything in their gonna be a fun time but who knows moving from 36sqft for flower to like 92ish sqft its gonna be nice

There are environmental factors that can cause foxtailing such as heat and over fertilization. But it can also be genetics which in that case there is nothing you can do to prevent it. Pure sativa's from tropical regions like Thailand, South, and Central America are prone to foxtailing when growing indoors under lights. It's just the way it is. If you're getting foxtailing on an indica dominant strain then chances are your temps are too hot, light too close, or too much fertilizer is being used.

The OP doesn't have foxtailing, that's sativa calyx stacking; and they need another week or so.
actually thats wrong. i have clear spires of calyxes developing on multiple cola tops. the resolution on my phone camera is not good i have an old phone. this is my third run off this same cloned plant and i did not get anythjng close to this much foxtails last run when my ppfd did not exceed 850 max on 12/12.
either way thread closed, i harvest on monday, the older calyxes i observed today are at 75/25 cloudy/amber. honestly i should have already harvested and the foxtails are semi welcome. i am hoping it will offset the amount of amber that will develop within the next few days before i take her down. due to my work schedule i will be unable to spend time chopping the plant until monday

Your fox tails are from led and the amount of light you are giving them? You have hot spots everywhere?

I'd suggest, cutting a test bud, quick dry and smoke it for high profile. It will taste like shit because you haven't cured it but you'll get it's high profile and know if you like it. If so, chop it. If not give it another week look at the trichomes and take another test nugg. This will allow you to correlate trichomes to the high you like in that strain.

Anyway congrats on getting to the end.

i already have taken a test bud at week 7 and at week 8. they didnt taste like shit. i hung dry and then bagged like i normally do. tasted amazing and smelled good as well ( i was suprised to be able to get the smell from drying in open air. dry trimming MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

Quick drying is putting your bud in the oven (or microwave though I've only used an oven) so you can smoke the bud within an hour or so after cutting. That way you can immediately chop the entire plant if the high profile is where you like it.

Unfortunately after you take the time to hang them dry, bag etc... you can't go back in time and harvest them at that point if you liked the high. Hence using a quick dry to test.

Great idea, I have a Volcano. I'll have to give it a try. My only problem with my Volcano is no matter what temp I set it at I seem to get a far more cerebral high than in a joint. But I'll have to try that.
Thank you!
That's the strains I usually try to grow. Cerebral. I find after a few months of jar they usually change a bit. I actually prefer milky clear. I ran a c99 until very ripe once. Very sleepy. Got to see what you like. We are all different.

Actually I love sativas. I grew C99 and was raised on Mexican Brick Weed. I wish I could find those genetics LOL Back in '96 I did find some seeds in my underwear drawer that had gone through several moves. Four of them germinated LOL. I chopped the females (don't garden while high).

The Volcano doesn't give me the full effect of the weed. It's like only 1/2. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong but I just love joints :eyesmoke:

ah i see. well i figured i definitely wanted to go at least the breeders recommended time before i chopped. anyways tonight i will start 48hrs of dark and chop at 9 weeks 5 days since 12/12 flip.

-looking to be around 60/40 milky/amber on a few of the cola tops old calyxes i checked.
- bottom buds look to be 20/70/10 clear/milky/amber
-plant is definitely not drinking like she was, i have run CANNA’s suggested ripening dosage of nutrients for a week and have achieved a good fade
-took a cola off that was so heavy it was leaning against the tent wall
- secured a few others to prepare for the darkness to end
-starting dark cycle after a watering so i can keep moisture in the buds for drying in a dry enviroment

the buds from the HLG are super dense, these lights are great.

looks to be 42 cola tops (including this one)
typically the buds dry to 25-30% of wet weight so looks like i will hit my yield goal of 1 gram/watt.
