I think my next harvest I will 1/2 flush. Ill make a mixture of 1/2 RO, 1/2 Tap water, boil the roots of the previous harvest, and flush 1/2 of each container, but ONLY halfway. Then only 1/2 the buds will be half flushed. I should get about a pound.

Flushing is meant for toilets.

I guarantee that the reason people think Un flushed cannabis tastes shitty is because the nutrient levels have been kept too high - nute burnt weed tastes shit. That's what makes people think flushing works.

Every time I read one of these threads I think about how the U.S. education system is failing this country. Rick got it right.

Flushing is in my opinion a left over old school cash cropping method of harvest.

Over feed and pump the plants up as much as possible then water only to help fade the plant of chlorophyll some to get the product smokable and on the street as soon as possible.

And it does do that. All curing in jars does is slowly get rid of the chlorophyll from inside the buds. If done properly.

Why do i need a control? I wasn't doing an experiment. You want proof, do your own experiments. I'm the op, who asked for no debates because i have read it all before, a million fuckin times. I asked a simple question for which i thought i would get an answer from someone who flushes.

I made my decision years ago after several grows without flushing and then several with flushing. The flushed plants produced better tasting and smoother smoke. Thats my opinion based on my own runs and my own comparrisons of those runs. I don't need a research paper to agree with my findings and I especially don't need anyone on this ridiculously negative forum to agree with me. This place is a breeding ground of negativity!

They arent thats why the ppms continue to rise in the runnoff water even though the feed water is low....ok i will say they will eat some of whats left in the media which is the point of water only....but if you just keep feeding your plants....check the runnoff for yourself...dont take my word for it...waste of nutes imo.

Not really...its because if u continue to feed u harvest green plants....chlorophyll is harsh....hey some people cant tell the difference between a mcdonalds burger and a kobe beef burger...actually some may even prefer mcds....as a career chef i know that 90% of the population doesnt understand good quality food over garbage just look at peoples carts in the grocery store..the same goes for weed....its about palates....the temperature of the smoke and others....people bring me weed that everybody says is great.....and to me...garbage....

Ah there he is. Didn't you have a good link to the plant tissue study which demonstrated the increase and decrease in nutrients with and without flushing.

So you flush or water only?
I water only most of my grow. I dont flush unless I have a salt build up

Flushing is the stoner term for leaching. Leaching the medium is more extreme than watering.

No i dont run 3 x the water through my media...fuck that. I just use plain ph water the last 2 weeks until i get runnoff and check ppms until im under 100.

I never taste chlorophyll because i have a proper fade at harvest....i can smoke my gear after only 3 days of hang time when wet in a pipe if i want....and do so to try a taste.......smooth as silk......i dont need to wait 3 months to smoke...if flushing is for toilets then curing is for smoked meats....

See, this is the negativity i speak of. Its a difference of opinion and nothing more. It has nothing to do with someone knowing or not knowing how to grow, dry, cure, etc.. There is no science to back up either claim and both sides have determined that their way is the best. I have never seen such a nasty, hard headed bunch of assholes as i have had the displeasure of meeting here. From my first post where some simple minded douche bag couldn't possibly believe that in 20+ years of growing that i had never encountered a hermie nor that i could possibly have my shit dialed in to my last post which this will be.
