What about the equatorial strains developed in countries on perpetual 12 hour days...do these not flower based upon age?.

So just a quick question. If I have just started to plant ( I have only seedlings very baby plants lol) and I get around 10 hours of sunlight will I be ok as well. I just bring them in the house at night because it still pretty cool around here.

Yes you can bring them in or you can use t5 tubes

in the equator they can only veg pure(or close to) sativas, indicas will go straight into flower anytime of the year.
That's why it takes so long for pure sativas to start heading in non equatorial places.
In NZ at 37.4S indicas will have started flower by end of January, pure sativas can take as long as mid-late march before the even begin flowering.
If you're strain hasn't begun flower by march it's safe to say it's 85% sativa minimum.
My daylight hours are 12:30 at the moment so my equatorial plants(Malawi) should start flower in the next few days if not already.
I know this is old but just wanted to mention that my Burmese ended up showing flowers with the light cycle at around 13hrs (outside) it is currently on week 7 of flower and looking good. So it would seem that plants can show sex and start flowering with longer light periods, however only if the days continue to get shorter

there Is still fluctuation of light cycles where you live right? its not consistently one time all throughout the year right. Is there anywhere that has absolutely zero fluctuation of light hrs. through the season? It seems places near the equator remain close to a 12 hr cycle, but still fluctuate,(i.e. they may only fluctuate between 12h15m to maybe 13 hrs, maybe less than that). but even this small yet gradual fluctuation, triggers flowering in the equatorial strains.
