Hi,
So it is almost end of week 6 of these girls life and I promised some pictures so here they are.
As you can see they are now taking up at least 70% of the canopy space in the room vs. like 35% 9 days ago.
3 Vanilla Kush and 1 Super Lemon Haze have taken well to LST. The other 2 VKs were a different pheno that did not take well to topping. The circumference of their main stems continued to expand rather than the bulbs on the 4 lower branches. The stems split down the middle after LST, so none will be done.
The 4 main cola branches have been trained out into a cross. This allowed 8 smaller growing sites coming off of these branches to become rather large and fill up the inside of the plant. There are now anywhere from 16-20 tops at similar distances from the lights on each trained plant.
Here is the Super Lemon Haze. Tomorrow I going to tie those four main growing points to the side and hopefully keep her under control when the stretch occurs. I think it will be interesting to see how she takes to extreme LST as I've only see people really keep her under control with screens.
green tomato tape is being used to LST. I like this stuff (think it made out of some sort of polyethylene) because unlike wire or string there is no way for it to cut the plants. Also, it is easier to just tape it to the pots with electrical tape, which leaves no holes or residue.
Look at how even that canopy is if I don't say so myself.
This is the vk that has had no training whatsoever. This strain is very bushy and seems to take to topping very well. It will be interesting to see what the different yields will be on 3 different techniques being used to train the vk. The 4 cola stems produced from topping on this plant are much thicker than on the other ones, b/c of the auxin displacement from training. So, will 4 giant colas produce more cannabis than multiple growing tops? Only time can tell...
