First Grow And Box Design

jp does hydro, maybe he knows??? i didnt have any luck with hydro, so i went soil, just seems easier to control. good luck man.

I use GH flora series and when i was feeding my girl the ph stayed stable because the nutrients buffer the water. Whats the ph of your source of water? I use distilled and it starts out in the 5's but when i add the nutrients the ph goes to 6.

Since i have been flowering, Im running just plain distilled water and i have had to use a splash of the ph up twice. it stays in the 6's.

You may need to do a flush, empty the res, use clean ro/di water and let that run a week or so. then start back on nutrients no higher than 1300pm (while flowering) 700's if vegging.

so u buy jugs of distilled water???? my ph is at 8 if out of tap. its about 7.5 if its rain water
. i also use the gh series. do u use the flora-gro in the flowering. i took it out.

No, i own my own distiller, it makes a gallon of water in about 4 hours. bought it off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/AquaVie-House-W...all_Kitchen_Appliances_US&hash=item2a0716b660

and i have my own ro/di system for true 0ppm
I did use grow in mine until the flush, ive read about taking it out but i saw no harm. Your water is a bit high from source, either one, is driving your res up each time you add water to your res.

I would filter my water, that usually lowers the PH of water or manually adjust it with ph down and get in the 6's then add to res.

So i feel kinda dumb. i might just be ebaying the solution to my problem. its a reverse osmosis digital system. i found this at a garage sale and am trying to resale it. it has neverbeen used. they bought it and was too lazy to install it. it retails for $449.99. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250639839281&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT check it out. would this lower my ph?????? if it don't sale i might just use it if it would solve my problems

Yes that's a ro/di filter. Mine just hooks up to the faucet. 75 gallons per day. If hooked up properly, yes it would clean your water and lower the PH at the same time.

i read on the back of the ph down bottle that some water may have so many minerals in it that it can cause "PH Rebound" after the ph has been lowered. Last night i had droped the ph to 5.8 and it was sitting on 6 this morning. which is great. usually its at 7.2 - 7.5. so i am thinkin that maybe the suberthrive that i had been adding to the water was spiking up the mineral content and making it go back up. the water with my aks in it was at 7.2 today and i had dropped it to 5.5. it still has superthrive in it. on another note it may be the high levels of lemon juice and vinegar that i already put in the ak water that could have cause the ph rebound. i am going to have to do an experiment.

i am just goin to stick with 6.0 that is right in the middle of 5.5 and 6.5 so it sounds good to me, but As you can tell by reading my journal that i am open to suggestions. The one suggestion that i am glad i tried out was LSTing. otherwise i would have buds touching my hps bulb. when i post these next pics i want yall to notice how much bigger the bud is thats directly below the UFO is. its my fattest and tallest. ohhh and its not the main cola. really unless you trace the stem , you wouldn't know which one it was. so do they just start getting fatter from now on or tall to.

Hey lucky, Your buds are lookin Awesome. in a couple of your pics, the leaves are so covered up they look like they got snowed on. :) hope mine start lookin good like yours. i have noticed a difference in the way the leaves look around the buds, but nothin like yours.

ok. just took the new pics. the old leaves look like crap. but the new ones are lookin good. and i take back what i said about that bud under the ufo being the fattest. the one next to it is. its still the tallest though. i swear it got fat over night. That steady ph has helped big time. you can tell a difference in fullness in just two days since the last pics i posted. however i thought it would be fun to repost the pics from 14 days ago. so you can see a side by side comparrison of growth. so i am goin to put the old ones in this post and the new ones in the next so they dont get mixed up. and you can definately see what i was talking about with the leaves lookin like crap. the new growth is looking good though.....and one more thing i forgot to mention. i know some people say your not suppose to, but i cut off most of the bottom half of the plant after i took those pics two days ago. doesn't look like it stunted it any

Thanks Concord......it doesn't seem like it has been growin that fast but when you compare the pics over a two week stretch. its undeniable. that may be slow compared to alot of peoples but i am pleased with it. this might end up bein some good bagseed afterall.
