First Frost

What exactly is the first frost? Is it just when the temperature hits a certain degree? Also once the first frost has occurred is your plant just finished? If buds aren't fully mature are you just screwed? Does size of plant matter at all? Basically I have two plants(sativa) that haven't even started budding yet or even growing pistils, am have been doing a lot of math, and just don't think they'll have time, unless I can leave in slightly after first frost.

You get a frost warning, cover them. You get freezing temps, pull em. Simple as that. Most of the time you'll be alright to finish unless you started in June.

They were clones, and I put them in the ground the first week of June, already just under a foot tall. My other plant is an early flowering indica and started growing hairs the first week of Aug., I put that one outside the last week of May. I live in Michigan so, unless I get really lucky, I'll just have to pull them a few weeks early. If I get unlucky, I'll have to pick them after only like 6 weeks flowering(assuming the start to flower by 9-1) How much worse will my bud be if I have to pick 2-3 weeks early, awful, or just not as good

My last sativa grow went for 100 days of flowering. Can you move them inside to finish them off?

I have a greenhouse, but the plants aren't in pots and I worry moving them at that time, will mess them up. I have no indoor setup, plus they're just under 8ft tall. Maybe move them now into green house/huge pots and see how that goes.

That would be better than leaving them in the freezing ground
Look. your just fine leaving them where they are. They'll be just fine. It's their job to enjoy the enviroment, sun , babying, tlc, etc, your job is to keep your eye on the same thing. If you feel a frost is coming and its two early then drape them with a tarp hanging from a wire, or cover them with painters plastic, and be sure to cover the ground around the plant. Either way, its quite a while before first frost, and with the growth you got going on:weed:, they should be ready and they'll be colas hanging all over the place....don't overthink yourself:leaf:
