This is the latest base mixes i use. Roots organic dry fertilizer is great since it is not pelletized like others - more powder like . DynoMyco is my myco source.

Armor SI with 10:1 pee ( seriously ) in spray for foliar whether soil grows or coco - it works well.

Water source - local tap . No magic RO or other nonsense ( cats drink it )

Trust me - it makes shit a thousand times more simpler to let the soil do the feeding instead of throwing bottles at it.

Optional : Neem meal ( in case you get suspect bags of soil with gnats)

It sure as hell dont get much easier than this⬆. Its been fun as hell using this method and I get better with each successive run. Wish i could get that Recipe 420 soil around here. FFOF should have gnat eggs listed as an ingredient. :hump:. I wanna try the terp teas. Dude, everytime you show me something new it just helps me up my game a little more. The P has been amazing (except when my stoned ass poured it undiluted and generously on the girls). After they got over the N claw theyve taken off like crazy. Anybody says theyre having trouble using FFOF i dont even bother trying. I just send em here.

As far as FFOF - i hear there are “ regional “ differences in bags ( amendment sources ) - depending on which part of US you live in.

And yes , the gnat issues. Since it is so rich in soil makeup - should be a given to prepare and prevent possible gnat issues - hence the neem meal.

Sometimes i cut bag top - add a few cups of neem meal on top ( not mixed yet ) just to have that preventative neem meal sitting there to discourage the flying fuckers. Or i dump whole bag into a large tote / throw in neem meal and mix well / cover tote.

Oh my god i just spewed soda through my nose! lol! For real though, I cant believe people still refuse to get it. Theyll feed plants bat shit, earthworm shit, chicken shit and cow shit. There is literally a nute line called," Fish Shit". Alot of bottled nutes are derived from urea. All that stuff is deemed "OK" because it has an OMRI sticker and comes from a store. Pee is Free. Plants dont care where the nutes come from as long as they get them in the proper amounts. Dang. I thought we were past this already. Anybody doubts it go check out @Budzbuddha plants out and see for yourself. Its worked well for me too so long as i remember to cut it with water. Yeah , weve had good fun with the irony of this method but it works.

Old Saying :

“ You can bring someone to the toilet but they refuse to drink “

:joint: Some bullshit like that or something …. I’m high.

Can you make one for photoperiod. I'm confused on weather I should top dress each transplant from 1 gallon to 3 to 5. Will the nutrients in the soil be enough? Currently using FFOF and plan on adding Gaia Green All Purpose/Power Bloom, Wiggle Worm worm castings and maybe recharge & mycros.

The layering method ( soil ) is from this thread - PEE work will be posted on other thread.

The layering method is the closest to a “ water only “ style way for containers. NO multi bottles - NO measuring shit - occasional fresh soil medium top dress ( if needed ) . No BLOOM additives - Straight ride or die

Good evening. I have been looking through this thread, am about 14 pages in, and am loving the info on autos. I recently became unable to adequately keep up with my usual grow due to some health problems (nothing fatal, numerous big musculoskeletal issues with lots of pain and several surgeries in my future). I ending up unplugging everything to leave to the spider mites I had missed.

I have always (past 10 years) grown photoperiod Northern Lights (Seedsman) from regular seed (clones from feminized seeds seem to stay close to preflower more than from regular seeds for me). I have a 3 x 6 foot flowering chamber, painted white, about 7 feet tall, with 2 Mars Pro II Epistar 160 LED lights suspended on adjustable ropes, big 6" vent fan exchanges into room, and window AC of room runs to keep cool. The lights are suspended side by side instead of end to end. I usually grow in two 10 gallon grow bags, one plant under each light, in FFOF with extra perlite and some lime. If they need anything more before finishing, it's fish emulsion. Oh, and I also sit the grow bags on a layer of hydroton that is in a big black (mortar?) tray to catch excess water and so I can bottom water if wanted. I'm putting what I'm planning below - and wondered whether anyone might have any advice on anything that would/could be better without plowing up and planting over TOO much. Thanks in advance!

My wife, daughter, and son in law are able to help and are going to start a new grow for me/us. To get some flower faster, grow more than one strain, and be simpler for beginners I'm guiding through their first grow - I decided to grow a few autos. I just put the seeds in water today (floating on top of surface in shot glass) and am waiting on germination. One each of Daydream, Lemon Pie, Purple Lemonade, and Purple Punch - Daydream was freebie from Dank, remainder from Fast Buds seeds. I am going to put them in coco pellets I have readied and, once they root, directly into finishing pots. These are 5 gallon pots that I plan on putting two in each tray under the old setup (AFTER they clean it out and set off a Dr Doom in the flower chamber and one in the room to be certain).

From reading on here, I have decided to use soil as follows - my usual FFOF/perlite/dolomite lime on bottom two-thirds, Happy Frog/perlite top third, with coco pellet tucked straight into it when roots begin to show. I have gleaned from reading that it looks like 20/4 light cycle will be what we use, and have seen to not stress them anything beyond minor LST. Probably just bend top over from what I've seen from others. That's all I can think of now, what do y'all think?

I send well wishes concerning your health and am glad you have a particular system of growing down to your liking - i am glad i can help streamline and simplify container growing. LST is a given to pretty much all autos as well as other training methods - autos have come a long way compared to early versions. Although i dont really add lime or much of anything else - i find just a simple top dress will carry an auto without much fuss.

But , run yours as you see fit. Find whatever ideas to your mix from here and from other growers. I am always experimenting my self.

Look at my other thread on “ container “ growing- i think you will see a very simple approach and pics to prove it.

GL and take care.

@Budzbuddha thank you so much for this thread. I’m brand new to growing indoors so please excuse my ignorance/ lack of education. I’ve read through the thread and noticed changes a bunch of times as you are very thorough in your testing. What would you say is your favorite/ best/ tried and true mix for your indoor grows?! Please also forgive me I’m not sure I follow on the pee thing.

The PEE THANG ( which btw is a great strain name ) is an off shoot of my container threads. Both funny and informative.

But for you young Padwan garden warrior- just keep things relatively simple - if you buy in to the hype around colorful nutrient lines or youtube bullshit - then problems happen. Think of your plants as any other potted plant - meaning just let the host soil its in do the feed - water it occasionally and pretty much that’s it.

Follow along in the other “ container “ grow thread as i am pushing that one along more frequently. This thread will still be open but i post mostly over on the other ones - including the PEE one.

Happy to help - reach out anytime.

Budzbuddha knows his growing for sure. He helped my so much. It makes growing easier and you get the opportunity to see that you can grow buds that are superior to what the despencery sells. One thing I really like about Busz is he will share his knowledge and never makes you feel as though your a bother to him. He is a straight up good person. I have made many photo runs before, but never run autos. Always believed they were inferior to photos. But he makes it so easy to understand and see the results. All around good dude Budz is.

Your the BEST thank you!!!

one last question because I definitely don’t want to drive you guys and gals crazy, I want to eliminate any chance of bugs from the soil, so do I mix neem meal in with all soil, or do I sprinkle on top layer?! Sorry for so many questions, just trying to stay out of pest and nute trouble!!! Haha. I have in hand FFHF, FFOF, Great White, General Hydro trio which I bought for Coco, Perlite, and my ppm of f tap water is coming out at 108. Should I pick up earth worm casting?! And how about your most recommended dry fert?!
