all mine are fem seeds ........ even the photoperiod skunk.... but i'm sure i could come up with some bag seed that would produce a strong male for such a task. i'd like to seed a bud on one of my skunk plants (when the time comes), as they are well reported to be easy to grow and pretty much bullet proof.............. so i thought a great place to start a forced breeding program with random large males!

I did think about that with my current bag seeds... but I figure it's not really worth it as I already know it's not great bud.
I'd go for a high yielding strain preferably strong too and buy maybe ten regular seeds. One of them, if not all, is bound to be male. Collected and preserved pollen from that male could allow me to cross pollinate any strain I wanted to :)
There are issues though, with not getting a stable strain as a result, but it would no doubt still contain only good traits from parents as long as the parents are good. Cross breeding should take place at least six times to get a stable new strain. But does it really matter that much if it's free to make?

I have a pair of non femmed Big Bud seeds which are said to harvest massive yields but not particularly interesting to smoke, I'd like to grab some pollen from one of these bad boys to cross with some interesting strains. Though I'd prefer some White Rhino or some higher genetics like Jack Herer ;)

They got to wait though, I must get my interesting strains dealt with first and I'm still on my bag seed grow lol I reckon it'll be a fair few grows before I start breeding but I already know I want to.

Yeah as long as you grow the bagseed yourself, It will be 10X better than the swag you got it out of. Brick weed could give you a great mother. I think you are gonna be very impressed how bomb it comes out.

okay a quick update cos I know a few peeps are excited about my new cab. It's no where near finished yet but I got a few pics of where Im at;

The walling insulation is now put together, but I need to go find some duct tape to seal it all before applying the mylar reflective covering. Also before applying the mylar I have to set the wiring and the heating. I've also yet to build the door frame and doors to include my exhaust - my passive intake is through the underfloor heating. So just awaiting some bits to be delivered before I can carry on.
But I did purchase my new bulb - a 65w red CFL (325w eq) and I'll be ordering another one in a few weeks to sit with it, giving my new flowering cab a total of 650w of 2700K :) I think my plants will like this much more than the 400 or so watts of little bulbs I've got currently.
Once set up, my current bulb set up will be changed to all blues and left for vegging only :)

Quick pics to show the under floor compartment - I intend to make some channels to have the heated cable running down, kind of kettle element shaped. Then cover the heated cable with some gravel before laying the proper floor on top.

Plants are doing okay too. The potential male is going crazy and drinking like a student on the weekend lol
Little scraggler is not doing much really since a few days but that could be down to my temps going down to 18-19C from 24, need to raise that back up...
The other plants are not really doing anything interesting yet, still waiting for sex to show - damn! this takes long!

IMAG0152.jpgIMAG0153.jpgIMAG0154.jpgIMAG0155.jpg

Long it may take, but hopefully it'll all be sorted by the time I harvest this crop. My next grow I want to be spot on.
But I shall be careful this time and not plant new seeds until their environment is proven to work lol

Enjoy the pics, I'll be back with more when there's more to show :)

oh... I've also learned how to make feminised seeds ;) I may need to experiment with this for my next grow.
@Trout, this can also be done for auto's!

My mate grew from the same bag, that was his first ever grow with lights (with 1 single CFL!) which made him go buy a grow tent and proper HiD's lol
So I do know the smoke is okay as I've been smoking it since. He managed to yield 5.5 Oz from about 9 plants, so although I know I'll get something hazey I know it won't be much. It is an experiment after all so I won't be too disappointed. I'm hoping my next grow will achieve much better results than this one.
My mate has just harvested his blueberry cheese - his first grow in the tent. Looking forward to sampling that :) It looked good hanging up!
Already tried the prime trim from this and t'was goooooood ;)

i like this one :-) ..... tidy looking and well healthy ........... BIG GIRL!!!!
Aye that's my favourite too!
Also is the potential male!
BUT...
Like one or two of the others, the little shoots that popped out are starting to sprout little hairs :S I can't be sure if they're new branches or actual pistels yet. Another few days and I can be sure.

A few pics of possible pistelling preactivity :)
Sorry bout the focus on some.

Oh and say hi, to my new friend (or frenemy) guarding my garden lol
I expect it's dead by now though, the amount of blueberry cheese it just got blow backed :fire: pmsl

IMAG0162.jpgIMAG01620.jpgIMAG0158.jpgIMAG0160.jpgIMAG0161.jpgIMAG0159.jpgIMAG0163.jpg

Been struggling with lowering temps these past few days and things are chilling down to around 13C-16C. Much too low, so I've been smothering everything with duct tape! Seems to like it so far.

One of my new bulbs arrived today too. But I fear it may be too small. Equivelant to 325w of HPS and with 2 of them would 650w. But I think I could go more... I need to consider my next bulb purchase carefully.
New cab is coming along slowly as I can buy the bits. Just gonna go buy some more stuff and work for a few hours so may have a kit update by tomorrow ;)

I think she's got nutsacks :S

Another is now showing clear signs of gender, but still too soon to tell as the little sacks are too small to see if they're raised or not.
Sigh... another day or two to be sure.
But as they're the first to show, the strongest, the bushiest, healthiest plants, then it stands to reason they must be males. Which then leaves me hopeful about the other three... not so pretty ones.

I've also just figured that tying up the top node with fan leaves is great for bushing out the undergrowth, it also makes it harder to tell the gender. It's only when opening one up just now that I saw the little sacks growing inside. Didn't have the cam with me so no pics this time. But I am pretty certain these two are males.

oh cumbers i'd fuck that queen wasp out off out of there as come spring you'll have an army of wasps in that shed..... i had to deal with a dozen when i moved into my shed (dealing with involved me crouching like a girl swishing at them with a piece of cardboard with one eye closed until they flew out the door, i really showed them whos boss)... but seriously that things gonna get busy while enjoying your nice warm temps!

be a right blow if both sexy ones we're dudes :-( ... fingers crossed you get a positive girl real soon bro

yeah man thats exactly what happened to me. LOL I started an la con about 3 weeks after the older ones, it cought up I was excited! Then balls grew i was like fuuuck... then the last three which were decently growing were all females. Sounds like good odds to me tho for you and I. id give it a couple days tho just in case, or if you want to breed.

Thanks man, yeah I'm sure one of these babies will have pubes soon ;)

The wasp LoL I think it's a queen too. Why else would she be there in November? ffs! She's kinda fierce too so I've been avoiding contact and similarly, flapping a piece of board indirectly in it's direction with very little consequence except for less watering occuring lol but funnily, the plants have enjoyed having a little dry period and perked up loads. Only water today and just a little.
I know I gotta get that wasp outta there, just gotta devise a good strategy lol
I thought the blow backs would seriously fuck it's tiny little mind but the damn thing wants more! You see her little tentacles raising up to receive more smoke LoL

I just looked at the pics, and yup. Its a male. Some one showed me a technique to figure it out. balls have their own stem, and female buds do not.

Nah, as soon as I know for sure they're male. They're outta there!
I do want to breed yes, but I only want feminised seeds. So no males allowed in this party ;)

yup same here. Im going to breed my autos together since theyre fems... and maybe try a run with just autos and compare the weight.. if that works good, both my boxes will be flowering all the time LOL. that would be ideal. Hey I just updated my thread btw, new pics and none of them are sideways lol check em out!
