Examples of GOP Leadership

I call it recency bias. Bagginski is saying we've never been a democracy. He's not wrong, just not altogether right.

Republicans have underperformed Democrats in national elections 6 years in a row. Where you see a small margin in favor of Democrat and Bagginski sees some conspiracy to keep the people under The Man's thumb, I see a trend in this country away from what had been 200 years of white power. I don't think any of the three of us is wrong. Bagginski has a point. I just don't agree that because the far left has no chance that means democracy has been defeated.
Clearly, you can & do call it anything you like: you seem to have no idea what I said, since you’ve completely inverted it…. If you don’t understand my remarks, please don’t comment on them - and don’t ascribe positions to me that I don’t hold and have never supported here or elsewhere. If you MUST create straw men, leave me OUT.

"Let’s change our behavior now. Let’s sit down. He’s the president. We’re the majority in the House. The Democrats are the majority in the Senate. And that’s exactly the way the founders designed Congress to work, find the compromise and find the commonsense compromise that puts us back onto a balanced budget," McCarthy told reporters Tuesday on Capitol Hill.
What is with this manufactured delusion that our system was INTENDED not to work? Anyone want to make an actual CASE for minority dominance as “original intent”? ANYONE?
In this first comment, I’m decrying the trend among congressional GOP to claim this ‘divided Congress’ as part of the plan, when congressional GOP has been using it to claim justification for their history of minority rule (specifically under McConnell in the senate…here spread by McCarthy to the House). It’s typical partisan gaslighting, and particularly egregious since the ‘permanent Republican majority club’ joined the insurrection.

Please note the lack of me saying anything like you claimed.
Sorry, but reference to the founder's intent is what Republicans do. There is a large contingent in this country, perhaps a majority, that intend for this system to work.
I may have been off-base in thinking you were telling me ‘not to be Republican about this’
doesn't change the real criticism I offered to your complaint. There is a large contingent in this country, perhaps a majority, that intend for this system to work.
DUH, okay? I myself intend for this nation and our system of government to work. Never believed otherwise, never said otherwise, never intentionally suggested otherwise, here or elsewhere: I honestly had no idea that this boilerplate was your “real criticism”, but then, you didn’t try to connect them when I asked:

Please, show me how that’s “real criticism” of my “complaint” about a well-worn wrong-wing myth
…instead, you decided to scorn me as a cynic:
Oh, I'm sorry, did I upset you with my positive views?

I'm not a cynic. I can see how a cynic like you might reject a positive viewpoint without a thought but that is a stultifying way to view the world that I reject. I saw 80 million people vote to save our democracy in 2020 and focused on that instead of the minority who didn't.
At this point, you’re simply making up things I didn’t say or imply & attributing them directly to me, and arguing against your own presented misapprehensions. That’s the logical fallacy known as the Straw Man. It suggests you’ve read NOTHING I’ve posted here (or at least not understood it) - and I’m not sure I believe that’s true. Maybe you just didn’t really READ my initial remark re: McCarthy. Maybe I worded/approached it badly & ‘helped’ you misunderstand.

Either way, let’s try not to do this, okay?

Okay

I went back and yes, I took one line of your post out of context and inverted the meaning of the whole post. It got stuck in my head and I kept referring to what I thought you said instead of what you said. So, my bad. Next time if what I read feels wrong, I'll go back and re-read. It's not an excuse, but I know what happened.

So, I'll press the reset button and try to do better going forward.

I wouldn't worry about it Stevo, Donald will be in federal prison soon and you'll be in a NY state one. Your "movement" will be whittled away as the FBI focus on the grifters of the right as a national security threat. The vulnerability and moral weakness of the republicans has been noticed and every con artist in America piled on, even guys like George Santos. Most of them probably thought, if a dummy like Trump could fool these idiots, they can too.

Being a republican means being a fool and a prequalified sucker for con artists, how many examples do we need?

McCaul said that, despite Greene’s past comments about conspiracy theories, including questioning the Sept. 11 attacks, the Georgia Republican has “matured.” He added that the senior members of Congress should educate her on how some of the conspiracy theories that she has spread are “not accurate.”
“I will tell you she has matured,” McCaul said. “I think she realizes she doesn’t know everything. And she wants to learn and become I think more of a team player.”
“I think it’s incumbent upon more senior members to try to — she’s a member of Congress — bring her in and try to educate her that these theories that she has are not accurate,” he added.

i'm not even going to comment on his statements...there isn't enough room in this endless digital page to express my scorn for mccaul, greene, this article, the idea that greene has matured, or ever will...

but perhaps they should quit nominating people that need to be educated, and start nominating people that ARE educated...

A lot of these clowns look set to go up the river in 2023 and 2024, they should be years of reckoning if Jack knows and does his job. Not just Jack, but state prosecutors too and then there are the civil cases which will stretch out for years. I think they are gonna start at the top on this one and chop the head off the snake first over the docs and obstruction. Then Jack will use the shock, awe, plea deals and Mark to take down the rest, starting with Trump's inner circle. I hope he continues on into congress however, since some are guilty as Hell and they declared war on the DOJ and him. Either he does them in, or they do him and the country in, since they have got off to such a good start trying to kill the government with the debt ceiling fiasco.

The legal cost will ruin many of these assholes, even the unindicted, as an example it cost Scooter Libby $14 million for his legal defense over ratting out a CIA agent. Dubya commuted his sentence, and Trump later pardoned him. They did however have to raise money for the expenses of the legal ordeal he went through. Cheney tried to get Dubya to pardon him, but commuting his sentence was the best he could do, until Trump.

Fermented might be a better word than matured.
Being stupid as a fucking stump makes it hard for her to learn anything, much less common sense. From what comes out of her pie hole, I doubt her high school education, as well as her IQ. Her moral character is non existent and many who vote for her would classify her as an ugly slut, they not being the most sensitive folks on the planet...

I just call her white trash with cash.

Look at it this way, she is the best and brightest from her district and you should refer to all of them that way, it's time voters took some responsibility for imposing these fucking idiots, psychos and assholes on America.

They want to elect these people and have the rest of America think they are normal? Acceptable? What is their fucking point? The real one not the bullshit? So they want to elect MTG and not have the rest of America think her district full of racists, idiots and suckers? Idiots elect idiots, it's that simple.

https://thehill.com/homenews/sunday-talk-shows/3824481-manchin-doesnt-rule-out-running-for-president-or-senate-reelection-under-different-party/

why am i not surprised in the least? manchin has the loyalty of a rat on a sinking ship...he would gnaw a hole in a baby to get on a lifeboat...
he might even get elected, the people of West Virginia aren't that well educated, they elected a money grubbing coal industry slave as a democrat, i see no problem for them to elect the same money grubbing coal leach as a republican...but what he will get is shut the fuck down by every democrat in the senate. if he tries to pass one thing, if he gets the house to pass anything he wants passed, it will get shit on and shoved back in his face in the senate. with any luck, one of the minuscule number of republicans with any morals or ethics will run against him and beat him so badly he'll never set foot in DC again.

https://thehill.com/homenews/sunday-talk-shows/3824344-mccaul-says-biden-trump-guilty-of-the-same-sin-in-documents-scandal/

McCaul said on Sunday that there are a lot of “unanswered” questions regarding Biden’s documents, and that the Director of National Intelligence won’t answer questions about the issue. He said he won’t know what the political fallout will be until he sees what documents were uncovered.
“This broke a week before the midterm elections, and they swept it under the rug,” McCaul said. “Now we’re just finding out.”
“Watergate started as a very small burglary,” McCaul added. “It led to the president of the United States resigning, so I don’t know what’s there until we see the documents if there are national security documents relating to foreign nation adversaries, particularly China.”

If there are a lot of unanswered questions, and he won't know the "political fallout" until those questions are answered, why is mccaul making so many accusations, implying so much?

“This broke a week before the midterm elections, and they swept it under the rug,” McCaul said. “Now we’re just finding out.”

Please point out to me where it says the public has to be alerted to any of this? Are the public alerted to every criminal and civil case that exists?
I will admit that timing was surely an issue, but if you really want to go there, we can start hauling out the links to THOUSANDS...no fucking shit THOUSANDS of cases of the republicans doing the same or worse...so go ahead and go there...

We're seriously going to compare this to watergate?
“It led to the president of the United States resigning, so I don’t know what’s there until we see the documents if there are national security documents relating to foreign nation adversaries, particularly China.”
what the fuck? we go from unanswered questions to "i don't know what's there but CHINA CHINA CHINA!!!!"...
just another attention whore republican, lynching people before they even have a kangaroo court
