You just aren’t using it to your best interest
You seem dead set on using a heater and lowering cost
Those two are contrary
As far as seedlings you can stick a cheap fluorescent bulb or any cheap led bulb at two inches and they will thrive
There is no one size fits all grow
If you just accept you don’t have a dialed in room without environmental controls heat and ac you can at least work around it till you do

I never once said there was bad information here
Of course I want to use a heater and lower the costs, I spent nearly 1,000 dollars on a led light that I want to use
I know it's expensive to run electric heaters but surely it shouldn't cost 100 dollars a week?
They are too far gone to be put under CFL bulbs, they are two weeks old with little signs of growth. A CFL won't fix it at this point.
And yes I accept I don't have it dialed in and I am willing to try and fix it

As people have said, it seems to come down to the amount you are being charged per kw of electricity.

Hanging a HPS with the extra infared will most likely keep your leaf surface temps at an acceptable level while the air temp is cooler

Harry, if you can sealing the lung room helps. To it circulates in the room and builds up heat.

I also ran my tent in my room at night, so with it being sealed up it still got the co2 it needed and then some. My house is regularly 65f in the winter and i was able to keep my lung room 78f and tent 85f.

I also put my exhaust at the bottom of my tent, hoping the hot air would collect in the top. This is what helped me no heaters wish you the best.

At one point someone said throw an incadesent light in there, i had a filiment 100w and it really helped spike the heat and ir in there low watts.

I'm sorry, but I just have a real hard time believing that it's that difficult to remove the LED light and replace it with the HPS. Several people have given you the correct suggestion, but you are insistent on the heater. Why even ask for advice to just do whatever you are going to do anyway?

A couple of 17W seedling heat mats powered thru the inkbird temp controller is all you need to warm up your seedlings, which we have not seen yet.

Damn,,, this thread keeps popping up like a bad penny. It keeps blowing everything up. So if I can't get out of it I will ask the questions once again.

Exhaust fan
Humidifier
Circ Fans
Controls
Lung Room Temp&RH
Tent Target Temp&RH

We know your heater is killing you,,,, We know you can change lighting out,,, But you may not have to. You don't need to run your exhaust fan 24/7. Just a few adjustments and setup changes you maybe in great shape and saving your seedlings and electric bill. But without the mental picture of your grow setup everybody is playing a game of blind mans bluff or pin the tale on the donkey and just poking and guessing as your grow crashes and your power usage sores.

I switched it out for a 500 watt heater and now it's only using 5 dollars a day in electric. Compared to 10 - 15 dollars a day. I think they have heating elements inside them, similar to a kettle, so even if the 1,500watt heater is only heating the room up slightly, it's still pulling over 1kw from the mains, similar to a kettle. :bigjoint:
