Dwc vs Soil

I have a question about coco coir. I've used it once before and didn't know much about it. I know it has a couple special unique factors but for some reason I can't imagine using only coco coir. I mixed mine with dirt instead of using perlite. I had a shitty grow bc all the othe factors were not right. Has anyone had success using only coco coir?

Yip. Personally I don't think you should mix it with soil. If you want to use soil, use soil. Coco and soil like slightly different ph ranges, probably what caused you issues.

Either use it straight or better to mix with something like perlite.

Three weeks old! The ones in soil are actually two days older than what the hydro are.

Glad your liking the DWC. i have been growing RDWC for a long time. your gardens about to get huge man i hope your ready. this is my system at 3 weeks

and this is it at 4 weeks

are you ready for that? lol

had just about every problem under the sun over the years.

my advice is to find a really good quality base nutrient. i Use House and Garden but there are plenty of them that are good.
then just stick with the base nutrient and bloom boosters if you must.

the important thing is DO NOT add anything organic, if its brown or sticky do not put it in your DWC, if it has any sugars or carbs do not put it in your DWC, if your not sure if its organic or has sugars do not put it in your DWC. just stick with salt based nutes and you will have unlimited DWC fun. Root rot is not fun

on a side note. comparing your DWC to that soil isnt really a fair comparison. the soil your using doesnt really look very good. i am transitioning away from RDWC into fully organic garden beds and i can honestly say that really dialled in organic soil grows plants fast.

Cheers for the tips. Totally ready. I'm vegging for another 4 ish weeks and then I flower vert :)

Monsters on the wall its going to be.

That soil is the best you can buy down here. I added in some perlite however.

well im going to have to keep checking in on that. it will be epic if you can pull it off.

Yeah bro. She's happening, I wish id started the seeds maybe a week or two later but haha, I've basically got 4 weeks before my flower tent is free.

I'll basically grow them till there half the tent height, then its topping time and when I flower I just kind of scrog them up and around the tent, if that makes sense, so in the end I basically have 3.5 walls of 4x4x7 full of bud. The .5 is because Ill leave some room to get in the front to work.

Either way. I'll be documenting it :)

I'll be watching!

I'll accept all the blame for this. No one will believe you when you tell them how much you get out of your tent every run!

Totally. I'd been having a few low yield runs and my first vert run last time boosted it back up to the lb mark, but I made a few mistakes, even the run I have going now in vert will yield more again, but I'm really looking forward to see these rdwc ones go, as they are going to be mucho bigger going into flower. It's quite exciting.
