Good bleech scrub down or h2o2 mix should work good.

Hey I'm gonna try to make this tea in the morning . But in his first recipe of how to make it what does he mean by using 1/2 to 1/4 a scoop of the ZHO powder ? I don't want to not put enough or to much in. I guess u can eyeball it as to how much to use .i was thinking maybe a scoop of your hand was what he meant

so i used the tea after a resi change but not a resi maintenance.. and my ph dropped about 0.8 in 24 hours. anything to worry about?

can I use a small fish pump instead of air stones?

Wow, what a thread! I've really just started getting into it. I'm glad that you are still involved Heisenberg. I found this thread while doing a search for a remedy to my current problem. Does my problem look like "slime algae" to you?

https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/500690-white-mucousy-slime-clone-stems.html

I am going to buy a few oz's of Mycogrow and was even thinking about Actinovate (I haven't gotten far enough into the thread to know whether this is mentioned).
I am assuming that the Mycogrow (or Mycogrow tea) won't clog aero cloner sprayers right?
If I were to also use the Mycogrow tea in an aeroponic system, does it need to be reapplied at each rez change, or is once or twice enough for the bennies to "take hold" and begin multiplying on their own?

Thanks for this thread Heisenberg and I apologize if this territory has been covered...I just finished another 180 page thread and don't have the energy to get all the way through this one tonight :)

i have seen mention of ebb and flow many times as an alternative to dwc with tea. If slime is always lurking, why risk your grow. Why do dwc instead of ebb and flow?

Dammit, I tried to DWC and got what I thought was root rot. Turns out it could have just been root slime :( I will give DWC another go after reading this!

Because slime is easily controlled with the tea, Dwc is an awesome system to run.. rapid root growth and hardly any start up costs.

Hey hiesinberg was wondering if you have seen the vortex brewing station? Aside from the price! Whats your take on this system?

So after I treated my dwc w/the tea it seems as if it has gotten worse. In one unit, there is now an increased layer of clear gunk/snotty material on the roots where before it was just brown. What has me even more curious is that in another unit which I poured the tea in, there was very minimal slime and it has gotten much worse. I'm preparing to totally clean out each reservoir with bleach and trying again. Also, the hydroton and some of the rockwool now has some sort of moldy blue/green material growing on it.

When adding tea for the first time in a res with a outbreak of slime, it will apear to get worse before
It gets better, give it a week

When I made the tea I got white floating stuff in it. Also it smelt only if I put my nose to it. Does this sound normal?

I use 50ml Aquashield, 4teaspoons zho powder and 4 handfulls of Ancient forest for 4 gallons of tea

In 156 pages, does anyone mention alternative products which do that same thing? I cant find any of the products listed in the first post and I really need this tea! lol.

What are the bennies eating? are you using sweet or molasses?
4 handfuls might be a bit much, try 2.5 or 3 next time.

Hello NZgrowah....

I couldn't get the products for making the tea awhile back.....I had root rot and I was able to fix it with 29% h202...and some bennys....I filled my buckets with 20ml per gallon of the h202...let it bubble for 3 hrs....pump it out and do it again for another 3 hrs....then I washed out and scrubed my buckets the best I could....added bennys..I used actinovate for bennys...when I mixed up the bennys I put 4 teaspoons into 2 gallons and let it bubble for a while....then split it up between my six buckets....then added fresh nutes....after about 3 days we had new root growth and the plants have been happy ever sence...

Hope this helps...........nitro

Thanks. My plan thus far is that there is so much debris and dead roots floating around that I plan on just doing a complete sterilization and clean out. This includes the roots themselves. What do you guys think about using diluted 29% h202 to spray on the roots and the surrounding hydroton, flushing it out, getting rid of any dead stuff, and them retreating it to the tea. Thoughts?
