Its' like watching a school bus on fire.
There's no question 'Ebonics' is not proper English. Everyone should be expected to use proper English when writing business mail/emails or interviewing for (a) job(s), etc.Awwwww, you implied I was smart. You're getting sweet on me.
You said poor communication was an indicator or poor intelligence. I point out blacks communicate poorly. You backtrack. Typical.
Linguistics categorizes language, much like a biologist does life. You can think of English as the order. Specie is the region, like the UK or United States. Ebonics would therefore be a sub specie phenotype. Whereas a Minesotean knows, "doncha know," is dialect and not part of standard English, unless you're Leroy.i couldn't speak ebonics properly without a fair amount of study first, same as any other 'language'.
you just hate black people is all.
and language is something you learn, not having much if anything to do with innate intelligence.
every person who will ever need legal representation at any time in their lives would breathe a collective sigh of relief if they heard your story.
Once again Leroy was asked to do a simple homework assignment. Still befuddled by the whole school thing, Leroy is a trooper. He was given another set of vocabulary words to use in sentences. Here's what he handed in:

Buck...the fact that you recruit men who are massively insecure in their heterosexuality to be alone on aboat with you is pretty damn funny.
but maybe that's just me.
Actually, all that is what you said.the purpose of language is indeed communication.
on a meta level, how you communicate is also a form of communication.
if someone's work is riddled with spelling errors, or constant ellipsis abuse, or just reeks of general inability to even operate a computer to post on a v-bulletin forum (looking at you, coolman), then that also communicates a message above and beyond whatever that person is trying to say.
the message from the text is that the person is dumb. so dumb. so very, very dumb.
Innate intelligence?i couldn't speak ebonics properly without a fair amount of study first, same as any other 'language'.
you just hate black people is all.

You don't think some people are naturally intelligent? Intelligence =/= knowledge.Innate intelligence?
The two words used together as a phrase and the context in which you used it, seemed contradicting to me.
So I looked up "innate intelligence" what I found was, it's a term coined and used in chiropractics.
Innate means inborn/inherent, where intelligence means the ability to acquire and apply knowledge.
Obviously, it's clearly a contradiction when used together and most certainly refutes your claim.
The use of language and having intelligence are both something you acquire and are not born with.
In other words, another UncleBuck pseudo intellect FAIL.
Of course I do, but intelligent and intelligence are two different words with two different meanings. You don't think some people are naturally intelligent? Intelligence =/= knowledge.
This is counterintuitive to me. Link?Of course I do, but intelligent and intelligence are two different words with two different meanings.
Having intelligence is the ability to acquire knowledge, being intelligent is displaying it.
in·tel·li·gentThis is counterintuitive to me. Link?
I always wondered when Ward took June from behind if he held on to the pearls.I wonder the Beaver's mom learned to speak "Jive" so well?
language is something you learn, not having much if anything to do with innate intelligence.
Just curious, does UncleBuck's statement above sound counterintuitve to you? This is counterintuitive to me. Link?
There us a specific time period in a child's life when their mind is most receptive to learning languages. I think it was 2-5 years old, or something along those lines. I'm not sure if I'd call the loss of that ability a change in intelligence or not.... hard to say.Just curious, does UncleBuck's statement above sound counterintuitve to you?
I believe I'd call it an inability, therefore lacking in intelligence, I think. There us a specific time period in a child's life when their mind is most receptive to learning languages. I think it was 2-5 years old, or something along those lines. I'm not sure if I'd call the loss of that ability a change in intelligence or not.... hard to say.
Everybody's handle gets abused on RIU. One under recognized talent, IMO, is the ability to choose a handle that is difficult to pun on. Your handle is pretty good in that regard; I would have to think a while before a good, insulting twist came to me.Skylard, lol...

Only joke on my handle was freedom works calling me "obombur" because of his delusion that I support Obama. "Desert dud" isnt exactly a stroke of genius, but I guess you work with what you have..Everybody's handle gets abused on RIU.
