I think a man that don't like to be called a queer is pretty normal, right up there with calling some dudes mom a bitch/whore. When in the company of men, that you aren't very familiar with, you dont insult thir wife or mom, and you don't insinuate that they or their fathers are gay.

It's about honor, I wouldn't expect you to understand.

I lol at you and some of the thing you consider insults. The really funny part is you misuse elipses often as well. So do I. Sometimes I just think I ought to put them in for aesthetics.

But you seem to think grammar perfection is more important than the content within the body of text. The purpose of language is to communicate, so long as someone can get their point across, that's all that really matters, to me.

Leave grammar enforcement to the academics and their work products.

if someone called me gay, i would laugh at them.

apparently, some people (especially the ones nitro brings on his boat to spend a lot of time alone with) are so insecure in their heterosexuality, that they would assault someone for asking if they are gay.

that's not about honor, that's about insecurity.

and as studies indicate, those least assured of their persuasion are the first to lash out at others for theirs.

the purpose of language is indeed communication.

on a meta level, how you communicate is also a form of communication.

if someone's work is riddled with spelling errors, or constant ellipsis abuse, or just reeks of general inability to even operate a computer to post on a v-bulletin forum (looking at you, coolman), then that also communicates a message above and beyond whatever that person is trying to say.

the message from the text is that the person is dumb. so dumb. so very, very dumb.

i couldn't speak ebonics properly without a fair amount of study first, same as any other 'language'.

you just hate black people is all.

and language is something you learn, not having much if anything to do with innate intelligence.

every person who will ever need legal representation at any time in their lives would breathe a collective sigh of relief if they heard your story.

Ebonics isn't a language, at beet it is a dialect of English, like scots.

In reality, it's just piss poor black folks speaking English. Undoubtedly a liberal linguist professor was attempting to explain why when black folks are speaking to one another it is nearly impossible to understand their gibberish.

Ebonics might not have been the proper term, although in the vernacular Ebonics can be used to describe African American English, it has other meanings also not relevant to the point I was making.

Black people speak with an abundance of double negatives, they fuck up verb tenses, and make up vocabulary. Crunk?

After affirmative action, and big money college sports, black folks could finally go to college. When asked to write a paper, the professor had two options, fail them for horrid grammar, or let it slide.

So it slid all the way to Ebonics.

It is in no way a creole language. It is not proper English.

i was pretty much unable to understand anything brad pitt said in the move snatch, but i wouldn't call a group of people less intelligent because they speak a specific dialect, as you do.

as i've said, language is learned, and intelligence is innate. the most intelligent white person ever could grow up speaking ebonics, and the least intelligent black person ever could grow up speaking proper english, it is not an indicator of intelligence in any way, shape or form.

and for the record, you are giving away their* playbook. they* probably don't like that you are making clear what they mean when they say certain things.
