Think you left it way to late to top it the 2nd time duchie. Top it once the seedling gets it's first true set of leaves then top it again after the next set of leaves. It's how i top anyhow and i've got some pretty bushy babies as u know. Wats that white powder on the fan leaf? Gnat powder??

Anyways bro, Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing the children grow up...hope they make they're parents proud

Hey Sytha, good to see you man. I was just thinking about having to get those topping pics of the 2 WWmax and 2 TP's up, I have side by sides a week or so apart so I have some sorting and arranging to do and I'll get them up for sure. I only have topped once when I top, so far. Your way is new to me. So you top twice and your first one is when it's still a small seedling? If so, I haven't been that daring yet, but I will always do something if it does what I want and I see that it works. Also if so, I have 4, right now, that I could try that with. Give me a bit and I'll have some pics up.

So, these were all shot this morning. Sytha, let me know about topping the seedlings in the last pic, I'm game at trying it no problem. I'm gonna go check your plants out again to have a better look. Oh and the powder is pollen. The shot is of one of the males that made a mess all over the place. They're gone now...(moment of silence)...but they did not live and die in vain.

WWMax feminists gaurding the vulnerable.

WW left, topped above the 3rd. She has stretched but seems to have evened up the canopy and I'm hoping the nodes tighten up more. I'm able to get the light about 10 inches above the canopy and hold at around 27C or around 79.

WW right, topped above the 2nd. Other than the stretch, I think this is a good top for 4 colas. All shoots were really strong and even when I topped and the lower nodes terminal end has caught up to the upper. I'm pretty happy with it. So these have been vegging 21 days now. Do you think they can do much better? Anyone?

These are The Purps I'm not happy with. They are the same age as the WW's. The one on left eventually started showing nice shoots, but the other is ill. Didn't want to use the word sick cause that has a different meaning these days.

Jackhammers. Vegged 31 days, in 12/12 only a few. First is the green pheno and then the purple.

New WW and TP's, 2 each. Better TP,s here. Strange weedy looking leaves but stronger seedling and real purple stems and then into the veins on top of the leaves. They've been vegging 13 days now.

OK there it is. Hope I didn't forget something but I always do.

I've circles where you should have cut the 2nd time round. You continue that topping pattern till your happy with how many main stems you u. You can keep repeating this process over and over till you end up with the bushiest plant you've ever seen. You need to tie down your plants alot early also. You also have to keep training them so that the bud sites (blue circle) grow up level with the main cola. Every time the main stem or any other stems get to high you train them back down level. It's like growing scrog but without the screen. If you look closely at mine your see that the stems have all grown up level from the bottom stems to the top. The red circles in the 2nd picture are the main stems and the blue circles are the off branches from the main stems. The off branches would normally not grow so long or thick like a main cola without the constant training. After about the 3 week of flower you'll find you wont have to train them so much anymore, only to allow light to some lower bud sites if you see the need.

Thanks for stopping by again Sytha. My garden went through a bad nute burn, or lockout or something and they all went very pale, including the small seedlings. I've be doing some doctoring and stuff, as well as harvesting and drying my males and collecting some nice pollen. In the meantime I did a vid today that will give a good idea of what's going on.

And you tube muted my audio for copyright, sorry bout that.

Ya looks like nute lockout for sure. It's the problem with soil compared to hydro...much easier to deal with lockouts and nute burn. Soil has its benefits too I'm sure but i've never grown it in soil other than outdoors gorilla style when i was a younger. You need to learn to LST. Tie down all the main branches so that they stay at a even height or you could sog or scrog. My grow box's make it easier for me just to tie down. Hope the ladies come good bro! Happy Growing

Topping imo is really only beneficial if you lst or scrog your plants. I've read that some strains dont respond well to topping but i've never come across one.

Actually I just did today, with a Jackhammer female I finally got. This thread is so out of date but I shot some vid and some pics and plan on updating within the next day or two. Maybe tonight when everyones asleep. I actually harvested the bagseed bitch and planted a couple of her seeds. One's up and the other I'm waiting to show itself. I'm sure one or more of the Jackhammer males is the daddy. So right now I have to update on;

1 Jackhammer
4 White Widow Max
3 The Purps
1 Cheesberry Haze
4 Extrema
1 WYDJ (Whooz yur daddy Jackie) LOL my bagseed bitch seed.

Waiting to come up
2 Jackhammer
1Cheeseberry Haze
1WYDJ

So yes, lot's to update. I will do it soon, I promise. I'm doing the vids today and hope to upload by the end of the day.

Thanks for popping by bc

OK, it's done! I'm excited about the release of my latest video, "The Top, episode 1". Hope you all enjoy. I'll be back later with some behind the scenes snapshots and all the inside scoop on the performers.

A special thanks to the fairy, for their part in this film.

Sytha how's it going? Yup I agree with you about LST or scrog when topping and I have LST'd and not in a permanent enough place to scrog yet, mind you Las fingerez has a great portable scrog he does, But these one's were a bit different. The Jackhammer I wanted to grow kinda natural so I just topped. One of the widows had one of the two main branches snap 90% off so I had to untie and repair and leave it, hence it's height. I am finding my TP's are not responding to topping well. What I notice of them so far is they're all stalk, stem and leaves. Meaning, that the buds are slow to show at the nodes and I've found, so far, that the better developed the bud sites are when topping, the better the top. Also the more even the buds are at each node, the better the results. All my opinion, but what do you think? ......hold on...bongsmiliebongsmiliebongsmilie......:eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke: Ooooh, that was a good one. Anyway, I have these two WW's that stretched real crazy so I did some radical LSTing on it. I'm still chuckling about how they turned out. I'll work on getting pics of them all up next

Lol, i saw the your vid on the 600, came over here to talk, and you already explained yourself, was gonna say those WW are some stretchy ass bitches, lol. Mine was the same way when i flipped the switch, went from 6" to 2 ft just in flowering, thats a 4X stretch, talk about crazy. Everything in the vid is looking good, I am loving the JH that you have in there she looks so elegant. Too bad you had to destroy her beauty pageant dreams by impregnating her, lol.

Yup, that's what happened with these girls too, and I even had them elevated to match the canopy. I just trained them again today, they're a hoot! You know though, it really leaves a great opening for light to get in though, I'm curious to see how all those other buds produce now that the bigger ones are all bent over. I love the Jackhammer too, I worked hard to get her. Three failed germs and 4 males later. I'm waiting for the last two to pop as we speak. She was intended to be impregnated before she ever broke ground, but only a couple of small lower buds. Don't have much respect for beauty contestants anyway, it's all over rated. I'll take a real woman thanks.

I'll get to work on those pics after it settles down here.

That's a hell of alot of variety in one tent mate. Your topping and LST seems to be improving. Still need to get them tied them down alot more though imo. Nearly everyday I jump in the tent and tie down, and re-tie down branches. After you've tied down a branch and it starts curling upwards again you should tie it down once more so it's laying flat horizontal until you have enough under branches level with the main cola branch, also tie down your under branches level with the lowest branches. I'm sure you'll just get better and better till you pass my level of experience. I'm yet to try scrog, It's to hard to access all areas of my tent from the outside since it barely fits in the sun room so scrog wouldnt be a option til i move in the next few months to a big joint. My tent is 2m x 2m x 2m. Looking forward to seeing how WYDJ turns out. Will pop in again soon bro...been a long few days and i need sleep

That's wicked man. I'm gonna send ya a PM now about them. Tell me something though, I've never asked how many times you can reuse these and/or smartpots? Not that it matters, I'm definitely looking forward to getting my hands on these. I'd like to get my new stuff into them which starts in about 2 or 3 weeks.

I have reused the first ones I made about 4 times now, they still hold up in the washing machine, and come out looking like new again. I guess you could use them until they fall apart ;)

Can't wait to see you grow some monsters in one of these!!!
