Won't be long before we have lots of bud/flower shots.
Started using bloom boosters today in the main bloom room.

The Alphakronik Cheshire Kush pheno hunt going well.
8 females out of ten seeds. Really glad I picked up this pack.

Cheshire Kush is Las Vegas Purple Kush x Gobstopper

This is the "Clone Only" Las Vegas Purple Kush

Gobbstopper.. an Alphakronik creation.. is Urkle x Sin City Kush
Sin City Kush is Las Vegas Purple Kush x Snowdawg BX
Snowdawg BX is Snowdawg (old chemdawg strain x Spacedawg)
Spacedawg is Snowdawg x Spacequeen

The genetics of the Cheshire Kush are predominantly.. about 65% LVPK... 35% mix of urkle/chem/spacequeen.

I expect phenos to be similar to the older Jackpot Royale from Alphakronik.
LVPK is described as being much like a fruity bubba kush.

Completely off topic..

and nothing at all to do with the grow...

But I am extremely enjoying Halo 5 on the Xbox One.. especially on my Klipsch/Onkyo THX 7.1 Dolby Digital Audio System.

I am not a big gamer by any means.. at all.

But this game.. perfection.

60fps High Def performance looks amazing on my high end Panasonic Plasma. Visually the graphics are stunning. Some people don't know what they are missing with all these cheap LCD and sub $1000 LED junk panels I call them. A good HDTV with high refresh rate and good contrast ration makes all the difference with gaming. I plan on getting a new Samsung Curved 4K SUHD TV set in 2016 but for now this $3k 60" Panasonic Plasma is just fine. This is the one I want so bad here.. LINK ---> UN65JS9500

It's $3500 now, was MSRP $5999.. before Christmas.. I predict it will drop between $2500-$2800 around Christmas. I used to be in the TV/Home Theater business.. so usually I can predict these things. That pricing really isn't too bad. It's one of the only Curved 4K TVs that's screen has both the Nano Crystal Screen aka Quantum Dot Technology.. the tech itself is amazing and impresses the hell out of me. Here is a short video on the tech they implement in these new SUHD TV's

The Audio...

The Audio in Halo 5 is equally as impressive as the graphics too.. it's sonically perfect for a video game. Immersed in sound, you really get lost in the game while playing. So much action, I can play and forget there's a whole real world that exists outside of this room. Good speakers like my Klipsch Reference System really push some air.. you feel the action. When there's bullets flying or grenades being tossed.. you don't just see them on the screen.. you feel them.

Unfortunately without a proper system.. something that decodes the digital signal, a full blown home theater receiver would be required.. as well as some really nice speakers that can re-produce sound frequencies in the lower range.. most gamers won't be able to experience how rich and lifelike the audio really is. Most people never get to hear or play a game in an environment like the one Halo 5 creates on a nice system and because of that,, so many people never buy a system. They literally don;t know what they are missing.

Me myself.. I like Klipsch speakers. Klipsch is an American audio company based in Indianapolis, they've been in the speaker business for 70 years. Klipsch speakers use their unique and well known horn-loaded tweeters and also what they call cerametallic aluminum cone woofers that accurately reproduce both soft and loud sounds. They are incredibly efficient.. which means it takes very little power to drive them.

Klipsch is well known for making Home Theater, Stereo, and Commercial Cinema products,, but what they do best,, and sound best for.. is making a really fucking good sounding loud speaker for Rock Music. You play some music and crank these bitches up.. you feel like you're at the show. Their current model LINK--> RF-7 II Reference Series Floorstanding Loudspeakers.. are some of the best speakers I've ever heard in my life.

If anyone has any Audio/Video questions. it's kinda my thing.. I don't mind at all if anyone wanted to ask me something.

But Halo 5.. AMAZING!!

Cheshire Kush..pretty sure I found the LVPK dom keeper at day 26... the fan leaves say so anyways.

Hey man glad you are back. I like the looks of that :leaf:

You mentioned TGA Qush (Pre 98 Bubba X Querkle), good stuff. This is a decent Qush I came across, 46 days of 12/12 under 23W 3500K and 4000K COBs, amazing strong flavor, tart grape candy and thumbs up for potency
View attachment 3535683
that is amazing! I can't wait to get a LED board!!

23W boggles my mind.. how many Cobs at 23w? how far apart? and distance from it etc..?
my Qush was exactly like Cotton Candy.. it was amazing weed but low yield, slow veg.

That new Go Time looks like a TGA Kush I can get down with. site says Norton x Jesus OGK..I'm thinking that Norton is probably Northern Lights.

GO TIME!

Hitgirl looks dank as fuck too but I already have the TGA cut of Chernobyl.."The Golden Ticket".. so seems redundant to buy Hitgirl beans. Hitgirl is Bloodwreck x 9lb Hammer.. not released yet however.

Hitgil from the Testers...

another Hitgirl...

the real Hitgirl

The TGA Golden Ticket Cut of Chernobyl

When Chernobyl was created in 2008, it was one of the most exciting and successful hybrids TGA created and offered in seed that year and for awhile there after.

Trinity Trainwreck (legend says it's heritage like a lot of clone onlys, Trinity came from bagseed).. Subs Trinity cut aka Bloodwreck was found as bagseed in a bag of Trinity .. crossed to a JTR male.

Interesting.. yes/no?

From the original Chernobyl Test Thread...
Q. "What up Sub !? We all know you're a picky S.O.B., but what EXACTLY is this cut of TW? "- Scrogger
A. "Smokescreen found this female in a bag of Trainwreck and we believe the seed came from Trinity pollen. When I got involved was when I smoked something that made my eyes cross! So far my tester looks insane even turning Purple. I will pull her out this week and shoot. I had a small cal mag prob as shes a 5 footer in a 4 gallon pot and has been ignored yet she has resin dripping off every bud and there rock hard!"- Subcool

Chernobyl is a Resin Monster

The Golden Ticket Cut..

"It’s been awhile since our release of this controversially named hybrid, we took some heat at first over the name. Thank goodness once people actually started growing it out the quality and potency outshined her slightly distasteful name. I never meant any harm BTW I just trying to conjure up a name that stood for something worse than a Trainwreck and that terrible nuclear accident came to mind. I thought it would be cool to re-visit the strain now that it is often featured in the jars and many dispensaries. I have seen and smoked many amazing Chernobyl samples and over time growers have given here favorite variations names to match the taste like the lime Slurpee cut or the Bloodwreck dominant variety. One such growers favorite that has caught my attention and the attention of the creator of Chernobyl, Dioxide and they call this cutting, “The Golden Ticket”. Not to confuse anyone this is not some new strain but simply a favorite female Chernobyl plant of a grower named Dirty Dan who started calling it that. I first heard about the amazing resin production from this plant last year and Dioxide has not stopped raving about it since. Seems Dan lost the cut and Dioxide had to go to some trouble to re locate her, this added to the legend of The Golden Ticket. I got the opportunity to visit a TGA grower who has been featured on my YouTube show “The Weed Nerd” who now grows and holds this cutting of Chernobyl, and photograph her so everyone could get a look. I was extra excited because this particular grower( Grower X) is testing a new pre packaged Super Soil and base mix that is based on my recipe and if it performs well I may not have to mix soil anymore. Grower X has been using my soil recipe for a few years and there is no one better to tell me how this new packaged soil performs. I did not take stills of his indoor gardens instead choosing to shoot a quick series of clips for "The Weed Nerd" show I mentioned. I did however take some stills of the plant just before harvest at 57 days in flowering and they came out really nice..... The smell of the bud is that of lemon hash and the scent is very strong, you can tell it has Trainwreck in it but it's so much more pungent. I sat down with a clear head and a clean bong to test this crazy looking bud and as soon as I started chopping it up the smell hit me. This is some really pungent weed smelling of limes and lemons but it is so smooth it kind of fools you. I smoked 3 bowls pretty quick and as I was preparing just a bit more it hit me, and hard I almost laughed out loud it came on so quick I actually felt a body rush and then it moved into my head. I was actually giggling for a bit as I did some video commentary on a live smoke test for The Weed Nerd show. It tasted so good I wanted more but I was pretty high so I actually waited for the buzz to develop more before having more. Five small bowls was about my limit and I enjoyed the rest of the afternoon completing this story really high but with what seems like pretty good focus. Jill was next for an afternoon session and sat next to me as I typed giving me her opinion. She liked the flavor thought it was sharp and astringent tasting on the inhale but really smooth on the exhale. She was surprised in fact and for someone who does Not like the lemon taste of JTR she enjoyed this bud and told me the high was very different from her normal daily smoke Vortex. More drug like she said and very strong, I tend to agree and I know why so many people like Chernobyl it is very powerful medicine but also really fun to smoke recreationally as well. While this story is about a special cutting it is not the first time I have seen females this resinated so just like on Willy Wonka there is certainly more than one golden ticket and it can be found in a pack of Chernobyl!"- Subcool

Gold Buds!

anyway.. here's what's really important.. and the reason I went through the trouble to type all this up....

it wasn't easy to get.. being in the Northeast USA especially... but..I know a lot of weednerds.. & as a result.. I have in my possession... one of these...

To me the pheno hunt is more than half the fun.
I have 8 Cheshire Kush females from a single ten pack all in bloom right now.. finally I am able to start to differentiate which of the plants are going to stick around.. in a way, growing from seed has a negative effect on my grow.. consuming floor space that I could be using to fill with heavier yielding, high performing proven genetics. but I really wanted the picture perfect representation of what I believe the Cheshire Kush could bring to the table. Hopefully out of 8 females, I'll have a real winner for future runs. That and I'm a seed addict. I don't think I could stop growing seed plants if I wanted to.
I feel the same way, to use the floor space for nothing but proven genetics would kill the hobby part of the equation and it would become just a part time job. Plus I feel like growing from seeds is like playing the lottery but with better odds, and you never know, you might be the one to create the next gorrilla glue #4, speaking of which, I really gotta get my hands on some GG crosses!!

I wanna apologize to anyone who might have been following this thread from years ago. I had a major health scare. I suffered from a mini stroke and lost control of the muscles on one side of my face.. had a tumor problem and needed brain surgery. That really screwed up my grow.. so I had the surgery and like the doctors usually tell you before any surgery... "There's a 99% chance of success but it's not risk free." Well that all sounded good and all.. but wouldn't you know it I was the 1% that had an issue. I developed an infection almost immediately after surgery. They sent me home with my head all bandaged up.. and I was on strong antibiotics among other things. It wasn't enough however. I blacked out one night but somehow in my haze and confused state I was able to call 911 and make it to the emergencies room. If I didn't make that call I'd surely be dead right now. They said when I arrived my heart was beating 175bpm and I was completely incoherent. I was stuck in that hospital for over 2 months and then to a physical rehabilitation center for 2 more months. I couldn't walk, suffered muscular atrophy. I had broken vertebrae in my spine from the medication I was on that made my bones brittle. It was a nightmare. I'm still to this day not completely recovered and I'll never be the same. But I lived. Not only did I live but I managed to somehow keep my job. I have a great high paying tech job. I'm fortunate for all of that. I did however have to move, which really sucked. I was living in a big three floor townhouse in a great suburb area and I invested a lot of money into putting 240V outlets upstairs and mounted a professional greenhouse lighting controller, and a great carbon exhaust system. It was a sick setup. Oh well.

That was 2015.. here we are 7 years later..

Now I'm living in a much smaller place. Most of my genetics are from 2010 and 2011. I have thousands of seeds that mostly aren't viable anymore. I have a great growing location across town at a buddy's house and we setup several LEC lighting fixtures all 630w in one big air conditioned room.. and T5s in another. We're also using 240v electricity with a greenhouse lighting controller in the bloom room under the LEC fixtures. All Botanicare nutrients, Foxfarm Soil, Smartpots, and excellent genetics. I've been dying to get things started again and.. here we go...

@MonsterDrank How is the led side comparing to the hps?
If I had to do it all over again.. I wouldn't. Those COB LEDs just aren't worth it IMHO.

LEC is the way to go. Ceramic Metal Halide.

I've grown using traditional metal halide, high pressure sodium, and LED.. nothing beats these ceramics that I've seen you can run 3 630w fixtures side by side and get a much bigger footprint than with a 1000w HPS and get excellent canopy penetration and great yields with lower Temps. An air conditioner is absolutely necessary with 3 hoods. We use a 10k BTU window unit and Qty 3 of these Sun System LEC Brand 630 Watt Fixtures. They are amazing lights.

I'm only getting about 8% germination rates on 12 year old seeds. They used to be stored correctly once upon a time ago in a fridge in jarred vials.. but as my hospitalization and life circumstances wrecked my life.. my seed fridge broke and my whole grow was destroyed. My priorities definitely shifted and that seed fridge wasn't one of them.

I've started some of these old seeds and I bought a few packs too. I'll be back soon to update the thread and list all the great genetics we are working with.

One thing I will say however and I'm really stoked about it. I have several of Bodhis Blackberry Lotus that made it and they look really good. Blackberry Lotus!!! That's Super Snow Lotus from Bodhi crossed to Blackberry Kush. I remember when those were listed all those years back.. I jumped on them immediately!!! They'll go great with the Kodama we have going.. thats a Strawberry Milk cross. I'm really stoked about this lineup.

I'll be back.

One investment I recently made.. and for my newly invested interest in my garden again.. is one of these babies..

Nikon-Z7-II-front-angle (1).jpeg
The Nikon Z7II Mirrorless camera and a few of these new Z-Mount lenses. I've got over $6K tied up in this camera. I hope to take some Amazing photos when the bloom cycle comes around. The Z7II has a 45.7MP full-frame BSI sensor, but it's now backed up by dual processors. The camera body itself with no lens costs about $3K USD. It also does beautiful 4K 60fps video.

You too bro. It's been years!! Good to see you.

I'm amazed at the plethora of quality genetics out there. It was sad to hear of Subcool's passing. Glad to see Mz Jill is still putting out seeds and I'm looking forward to getting some Agent Orange if she releases it again. Also I'm stoked to see Bodhi cranking out all these packs. I've tried his Kodama already and absolutely love that strain. I still have yet to try any of these gelato, cake, cookie crosses. Went to Vegas a couple of times actually not long ago and I was tempted to pick something up at a dispensary but just never got around to it.

I hope everything is well with you. I miss the life that's for sure. I'm a New Yorker and we just got recreational legalization. Still no dispensary's here up and running yet but I guess that's coming. I'm curious how indoor cultivation laws will play out but in the meantime I realize the importance of good carbon filters. I also love how it's now easy to aquire quality seeds from Seedbanks located within the United States.. back when I was growing all there was in the US was Holistic Nursery and they had a weird sketchy way of doing business by posting photos of packs and wanting cash payments. Things now are much better.

There is still Original Agent O stock through @Genetic Supply . It’s the last of them but I just got my hands on some AO too. Good too see you back in action MD/BMS.

Most all of the original TGA stock is still available through them in “producers overstock”. Some of them you just have to ask about bc they’re not listed for sale. Also ask her to send you the original TGA poster and Subs old biz card if your interested.

Got Jesus OG on deck right now and popping the Agent O after. Thinking about F2 both of them to look through and keep genetics around, but still undecided.
