I love that part.. that confirms my latest observations in my room.. the temps have dropped really low in there during the night cycle and the buds stretched a bit and got realllllll frosty.. especailly the lower buds.. My RH is 50... 60 after watering.. Hard to get that lower with a cement box in the winter..

If anything, THC will be reduced regarding production AND, this is the most important consideration, THC may be degraded into crap cannabanoids like CBN. I look at potency as a bell shaped curve with the good cannabanoids aka THC being produced from say....week 2 until the optimum window for harvest, which lasts about 2 weeks indoors. As time goes by, these goodies are degraded into "inferior" or "lesser" cannabanoids over time. Mel Frank has several graphs which show % via a timeline of this transition due to exposure to light, air, heat, and time, how those environmental factors chemically degrade certain cannabanoids, main one being affected are THC, as opposed to exposure under ideal conditions - cool/cold temps, absence of air, no light, etc. which tends to maintain the integrity of the goodies.

Hey now.. I agree with almost everything you say.. BUT.. CBN is not a crappy cannabinoid.. I believe it has anti-inflamatory effects..and it's responsible for the stupify, sleepy, pain relief. What's your take on this??? And it's the mix that gives the best high.. It also comes down to personal preference..

Drr, welcome to the debate.... good posts... but all cannabinoids are not crap,,, some are very useful in pain relief.... but thanks to misdirected government poilicy we have spent the last 70 plus years in the marijuana dark ages.... while every other facet of human endeavour has accerlerated and benefited from technological advances... all the MJ community gets is spew about how devastatingly bad weed is.... Lol. This thread was quite entertaining. Yeah uh, the leaves are kind of important in the bud production since you know, photosynthesis takes place in the leaves and the energy needed for the whole plant and bud growth is in photosynthesis.
I mean there were tests done for the dark period and not much if any increase. And in a few days, it wont produce much if anything.
However, I do have a question regarding curing. Right after you harvest and hang the up to cure, do you cure in a lighted room/closet or in a dark room/closet? or doesn't it really matter?

Light and heat degrade THC on harvested cannabis. Hang it in the dark (at a cooler temperature than in the grow room) until it's dry enough to jar up.
The slower the dry and the longer the cure the smoother the smoke.

Yeah, my opinion is that all these little last minute gimmicks people have come up with to increase potentcy are just that, gimmicks and just excuses for people to fret about things that don't really need to be fretted about.
Come on, the plant has grown for 4 or 5 months and it is what it is. There's no little last minute wazoo trick that's going to turn poorly grown weed into super-ganja.
From my reading (and sorting thru the bs) it seems there might be a little something to harvesting at the end of a dark period (but just a 12 hour one). I've picked at all different times during the light cycle and I can't see where any of it made a bit of difference one way or the other.
Any more I just try to harvest first thing in the morning before lights on by unplugging the light the night before the day I decide I'm going to harvest.

If your buds aren't producing trichomes by the 4th week of flowering, something's wrong. My buds on the lowest branches did not puff up unless their leaves were exposed to light and the plant was given a normal regiment of plant care.

That's the problem with people on here. That guy knows what he's talkin about he's not being a jerk he is telling u that just keep it simple and simple is the way of life. The more changes u make the more fuckin crazy shit will believe. I sure dint know why people think that If they r doing something new that they r GOD. Remember it's just a weed and when it ready for harvest, harvest it. Screw the dark shit I have never done this and I keep a simple program and I hear from everyone that my smoke is the best they ever had. KEEP IT SIMPLE
