My point is that this is not a (you get what you pay for) scenario. They are cheap because there is not the demand for these now as there used to be.

While I did not look to see if there were pictures of the system mentioned heat may or may not be a problem depending on the design of both the lighting system and a person’s grow room. I used magnetic ballasts for years and never had a heat problem and that was because the ballast was not part of the light/hood and the cord running to the ballast was long enough that I did not keep the ballasts in the grow room itself and instead just ran the lines into the room. If someone can do the same there is no reason to be concerned about the heat that magnetic ballasts produce. If they cannot do like I did then yes the additional heat will cause a need for additional ventilation capacity/capability.

people are retarded, Thats a good deal, and just needs a little modification. I think you are right smoke and I have done the same thing before with these with great success and not a whole lot of effort. You could aways put it in any other hood in the future.

I'm using similar lighting. I do electrical work, and as that's a good deal, it is not too good to be true. The mod is easy but people, make sure you know what you are doing with electrical wiring and never bypass necessary grounding. It is the primary safety feature, and you could end up burning your house, your crop, or losing your life or freedom. Don't let that deter you, just make sure you understand the directions and ask ask ask, if there are ANY doubts. Good find, Smoke. bongsmilie

Is anyone still using this light. I have been using 2 of them year round for about 13 to 14 years since I purchased them. I ended up with 4 of them total. I remember 1 of them I won the bid and paid 9 bucks for it.

With the advancement in LED lighting
You can save about 30% on your electric bill without the need for bulb replacement
Dinosaur technology still works but I wish I had switched hundreds of hours ago
