We offer a stand alone unit (not in duct cooled housing) that we are offering for 699.00 until the expo then it goes up to retail of 799.00

Always wanted to make a lamp in under 10 Mins. Thought i could do it with Pre-Drilled Pin heatsinks but it takes a lot longer.
Assembled this in 9 mins. May be someone can assemble in under 5.
Used a screw driver, 2 zip ties and wire stripper
Could have spent a few more minutes to shorten the driver cables and to improve wiring.

45-95 Watts
What about thermal compound between the board and the heatsink?

Stephen - a few more questions please.

1. Will the fixture run about the same temp as our friends' with the creepy golden desk mask or about 72 to 74 deg F?

2. Will the cooler temp or lack of heat radiation on the canopy possibly be a negative? Or will being able to get the fixture closer offset that?

3. By dropping two or three cobs in the middle - will it come close to a DE or is that an exercise in folly?

There will be 12 pcs 90W Kits available this Thursday-Friday.
There will be 60-75 Boards available this Thursday-Friday.
We have very few Board heatsinks left. 10-15 pcs. Will be available by Friday.

I will post here as soon as they are available. However if you guys hate to wait and want to pre-order just boards or 90W Kits. Let us know and i will add a few online for per-orders.
We cannot accept pre order on Board Heatsinks as quantity is too low and we dont know how many we have left.

More QB304 boards are on order and will be available 3rd week of Jan. There are limited 4000K boards too. If someone wants 5000K then let us know asap

We have 2 suppliers making heatsinks and so heatsinks will be restocked soon. 3rd week of Jan.
We are also designing a new heatsink that can hold 3 boards. Like a 3x of Slate 1
We are also designing a new version of heatsink for single board that will be around $20 and can handle more power.

A cheap diy 2 or 4 board enclosure would be very nice. Sort of like the cob version that's on the site. Maybe it could be more cost effective with a 2, 3 or 4 board solution.

Just something that covers the wiring and has a lens. Maybe even a heatsink coverplate.

Fast to protect solid state devices. Inrush may blow it though. You need it large enough not to blow (around 75% of fuse rating for overhead) but if the inrush at turn on blows a fuse (due to a motor or other large inrush device) a slow blow will be used. If running at .8 amps per module a one would work. The picofuse will push in to the panel hole. You can also use a fuse holder with a different style fuse. They shouldn't blow unless you have a failure so you shouldn't have to change them. 1 amp at 120 vdc will be ~120 watts.
I do like the idea of a fuse holder better. Easier to replace and probably a screw-down vs solder. Not a big deal soldering but kind of a pain if they blow for protection. Does only the positive leg need the fuse or both positive and negative?

Watts are watts. It will run cooler than a 600 HPS but similar to a 400 HPS/MH. The best thing to do is use a thermostat control on your fan. 82° is good for LEDs with an RH of 50% if the the is lower run a little cooler. Also the cobs could be added but I think I would go with some mono reds if I was looking for a little extra kick. Some of those stars from cutter could be mounted straight to the plate.

To be honest the heat sink makes the fixture, if you route the drivers outside of the grow space not only does this save in heat but cleaner light/less wires. Your literally hanging the ratchets to the heat sink you cant get cleaner than that. Anyone who doesn't have a Quantam board lit up needs to understand that there no thermal paste or active cooling needed if you have some air flow. These things are cool or luke warm to the touch using the predrilled heat sinks.

@MMJ Dreaming 99 and others thinking about adding COBs to a QB setup I say try the QB's first. The QB's themselves give a very even light spread without the need for optics "at least in my reflective walled tent". If you think about it they saved us a lot of hassle with these. No soldering, no thermal paste, no active cooling "normal use", no extravagant DIY fabrication of light frame and I'm sure I'm missing a few more. I'm glad I jumped in and got mine =0)
