dispensaries

There is a group in Traverse City sponsored by a group who works with Licensing Physicians to get a class-action Lawsuit against the State of Michigan for "The sale of fraudulent goods".
You can not charge someone $100 a month for a license to use/obtain/grow cannabis and then (1) allow the police to arrest people for growing (and take all their shit) AND (2) close dispensaries/compassion Clubs AND (3) add-on new legislation making patient to patient transfers illegal! They basically take your money and then say "sorry that card is worthless"!

IF they get this off the ground (are trying to get more than one Lawyer with some clout on this) I for one am definitely IN!

Who got raided, can you say?
I would rather not I'm sure you could figure it out with a few phone calls though. They might not want their name attached to that drama and I don't speak for them so I'll let you guys figure the rest out for yourselves. Sorry. Really, I just wanted to see who all got hit.

Were considering similar action in the Jackson area, Bill S. being the target of the suit.

It's unfortunate that Rick Snyder and his minion Bill Schuette are putting so much of our tax money to work to fight medical marijuana dispensaries. I'm from Ann Arbor originally and even though I'm not a republican, and did not vote for Rick Snyder, i was hopeful that all of his practical "business experience" retortic he spun in the campaign would actually be used to uplift Michigan. Instead hes just hurting the people in our state even more.

If Snyder was as business savvy as he claims, then he would see the revenue potential for Medical Marijuana. However, he is a fucken square and somehow in his sheltered mind refuses to acknowledge that this Medical Marijuana movement is here to stay.

I myself concede that the original Michigan Medical Marijuana law was flawed/short sighted because it should have explicitly allowed dispensaries so there wasn't any ambiguity or question about it. Instead there is no mention of dispensaries in the statute which has led to this wild wild west/grey area period we are in now and is per se illegal. Yes, Schuette and Snyder could have backed off and let this grey area keep rolling and allow dispensaries to stay open even though the law doesn't say anything about it one way or the other. (That would have been the cool/smart/ business savvy thing to do.)

Now, instead of living in fear and griping on the internet, we need to amend the statute to allow dispensaries to exist in areas that are approved by the local municipalities where they want to exist. If Cities/Towns/Unincorporated areas established "Zones" where dispensaries would be permissible then this BS "Not in my backyard" argument vanishes and it would also be 100% legal on the books (like strip clubs, sex toy stores etc and any other type of business that they dub a "nuisance".) With some proper forethought and planning we can make this happen!!!! Its a win for the state because of the revenue generated from 1. licensing of the LLC's for the dispensaries and the tax revenue they generate.
