Will we be able to grow our medicine in jail, or will we have to have a caregiver bringing it to us. I'm just thinking how much commissary money I need to put away?
No need, you'll have all the 'currency' (used loosely) you need.. as long as they have a monopoly game in the rec area... and no, not for the monopoly money itself. The wheelbarrow piece handle spacing unlocks most of the wall panels in the kitchen - is how MCTC in Maryland had a guy working in the kitchen on 'good behavior' and he was whippin' up LSD behind the wall. They caught him on random inventory and noticed hundreds of pounds of sugar missing.

I saw a jail show where the women made hooch in their cooch. A bottle of fruitrinds stuff in a bottle stuffed up their cunts for heated fermentation and also fir a good hiding spot. Bet the crevasses of that bottle hate life.

Go back in your lab, and do whatever you do in there. What kind of lab is it by the way. I think I have an idea.

Am sure that any answer you could provide as to the lab type would be a lame attempt at an insult - don't bother. :D

So is it now illegal for a caregiver to provide for a patient other than the 5 patients that that caregiver may have?

We don't need to add another made up classification like 'bud tender'.
What about MMJ Doctors? Those arn't in the law and are certainly made up doctors whose only interests are pure profits!!

I wish I could answer that. But the issue of a Civil case over a Criminal one is one of distinction as Mr Rocklin pointed out in his Opine of the ruling. But, I will Say what I have always have said, the only thing that has changed, are some of the rules (since the law was first enacted). IE Cannabis has not been legalized Medically or otherwise in Mi. We have an Exception (Protection if you will) from Prosecution, and if you DO end up in trial, thanks to the 1st MC Ruling, you have the opportunity to submit your actions were "Medically Related" to a Jury. So long as you have a Dr Recommendation prior to Arrest under a section 8.

I have also always said, Dispensaries are not "authorized" via the Act. I understand, and see the need for them, but the fact remains, The Mi Voters said a CG/PT Connection is authorized. Personally it is my opine that we are all on the Same Registery, thus we are all under the same Policy or Contract if you will. This is Not how the MS Just ruled, and how that changes things on the Criminal Case level is likely yet to be really seen or understood, which is why I completely agree with the decent of Justice Cavenaugh. But the fact remains, they (MSC) did exactly what I knew they would. Absolutely kill any option of a Brick and Mortar, as they are not authorized under the ACT, though I did think they would uphold the CG to "A" Patient portion, they did not do that. The Kink created here now is the Assigned CG issue, which is why Justice Cavenaughs's decent is, imo, right on point.

And, as I have also always held to, the best way is the way our Law provides, for a lateral connection between Patients and Cargegivers. IE every CG has atleast one PT who is also a CG.

THE Main issue now is the SC just upheld the only monetary exchange that is "Authorized" per the MMM Act is via a PT to his Assigned CG. The Hurdle though is as a PT, regardless of where you ACQUIRE, so long as you acquire below your "ALLOWED" Quantity (ie 12 plants 2.5oz as a Pt) is Protected as a Sec 4) Defense, But the party you acquire from is NOT protected via a Sec 4 (IE no arrest) but again, due to the 1st MC Ruling, that dispensing party has a right to submit a sec 8) defense infront of a Jury.
It is a Two edged sword, and that has never changed.

So In my Personal Opinion, the only thing that has changed with these last 2 MS Cases/Rulings so far, You can only get it from a CG were BOTH are SAFE From arrest so long as BOTH have a Dr Rec and are on the MI Registry Program and are working at or under the noted limits. Other than that, you can be and probably will be arrested If/When that scenario arises. Otherwise the person receiving the remuneration (ie, non assigned CG or other Party) will have to prove in a court it was Medically Acceptable Actions.

Bottom line? get your Dr recommendation and put a lawyer on retainer if you are going to do anything beyond your connected Pt or CG.

I dont agree with it, but it is what I expected. BRICK AND MORTARS are now, and Will ALWAYS Be Demonized until Big Pharma and the Perverted Uncle Chester can put their greedly little paws into it. Then and ONLY THEN, we see legalized Cannabis, STRICTLY FOR INDUSTRIAL, LARGE CORPORATIONS, it will still be illegal for you and I if we let these Fucks continue without Speaking the Fuck up.

It is time to start the Full out Legalization and Decriminalization of Cannabis on ALL LEVELS. FUCK Wa, and Colorado (No offense to you out there, you did a great thing, but imo, you are trying to stuff a round peg into a square hole, when you actually need to just remove the fucking game altogether).

I have made no bones about my position. I must stand by the Right thing to do, and IMO, that is to Carry the Flag of Jack Herer. IT IS A FUCKING HERB. Grass, Catnip, Crabgrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, ect ect ect. The only way to fix this mess it to remove the gameboard they are playing on. Therefore I am calling on everyone to put in the effort to put on your County 2014 Ballot, Language to allow for all out Legalization, any amount, any need, any reason for use. Fuel, Paper, Medicine, Home Construction Block and Concrete, Clothing, Food, Ect ect ect. It is time to RE Educate our Farmers on the benefits of growing hemp/cannabis. We need to allow the PEOPLE of Michigan to make a REAL VOTE.

I will be starting to work on getting a proposal together, to allow for any county in the State of Mi to use (adopt and fill in correct information for you county) to put for a Ballot Initiative on the local level, for the all out legalization. No one ounce limit, No limits at all, No medical use required. Only requirement is you be an Adult.

Michigan needs to put on its big boys and girls pants, and do exactly what we did to end the Prohibition of Alcohol. JUST OUTRIGHT LEGALIZE it on a State Level.

Question is, who else is going to put in the time and effort in each of their counties to get the required signatures to put this on the ballot in your county?

I dont know about you all, but I Fully Grasp the Severity of this Issue, and completely understand the endeavor this proposition is. My Home County is Bill SchuItte's Home County, SO For me, I would see it as a Major Community and Personal success to get a full out Decriminalization and Legalization Initiative to pass by his own HOMETOWN PRIDE!
I agree with a lot of this but full legalization stops folks from going to jail and decrim doesn't.... I've been charged with mj possession more than once. It aint no fun going to jail for anything but it's worse when doing it for weed.

5 or 6 years ago we were all for legalization but now lots of folks are making a living from medical marijuana and don't want that to change. Thing is, it just did for many of us. I saw it coming too. Have to admit I was hoping the SC would accept dispensaries but.....

I do agree with you about legalization and would be interested in helping to put together a petition for legalization. I've thought this out for a while. It takes a lot of work to write a petition, get it approved and collect donations and signatures. If we were to try and fix or amend the med mj law to allow patient to patient transfer and/or dispensaries we would probably fail to get enough support from the folks outside of the med mj community. Hate to see another huge effort all for nothing. Legalization on the other hand has an excellent chance of going through. We just saw 2 states pull it off and you know more are to come soon. A few cities in Michigan already voted for legalization just like they did before the state voted in medical marijuana. I say lets get our licks in while we can. If we lay down or play our hand wrong again they are sure to win. The time has come to shit or get off the pot! (no pun intended)

Legalization is a very welcome idea to many folks who are outside of the med mj community. Most of those people aren't troubled by the fact that Phillip Morris might be growing their weed someday. Collecting signatures for that last legalization petition was like taking candy from babies. I had most of my problems getting folks to sign who are involved with med mj, especially CG's and growers. They are threatened by the potential competition of big industry. I can relate to that way of thinking but i also realize that legalization is the right thing to do. Get busted for weed in small town Michigan and you'll find out it aint no joke..... They need cash and weed offenders pay their bills and give them a paycheck. It's time to quit making pot smokers pay the bill through the legal system and incarceration. It's also time to make marijuana readily available to everybody over 21. Alcohol was considered medicine before and during prohibition. You could actually get a permit to drink booze for medicinal purposes like we can with medical mj in many states.

Now that booze is legal again we can make our own beer and wine and we can even get a permit to make it on a large scale. Look at all the micro brewries..... I see the same thing happening to marijuana in the future. Yes the bottom will fall out and you will have to grow quite a bit to make a living but those who have a real love for growing will be the folks doing it.

I think lots of folks aren't quite as passionate as they like to think they are. There are lots of people suffering because their loved one is in jail or prison because of some f'd up marijuana laws. The pain and suffering doesn't only belong to people with medical conditions. I think lots of folks are putting their wallets in front of all that in the name of compassion.

Aspirin is medicine. it's more dangerous than marijuana but I can buy some at the gas station. Marijuana should be available at the gas station too. It should also be available at boutiques, coffee shops etc. In those places you'd find premo connisuer and med grade marijuana. Phillip Morris probably aint gonna start mass producing marijuana indoors, they are going to do that outdoors. It would be like wine, you'd get boones farm at the gas station and Dom Perignon at a specialty shop that only deals with high end products. I believe there would still be plenty of room for the small guy and lots of jobs would be instantly created for those who can't afford to set up their own shop. There is also the possibility of teaming up and creating llc's etc. The internet would be a great tool for that also.

Maybe we should start a new thread for those interested in legalization. Post the old petition and change the wording to be far less vague. Figure out how they worded it in Colorado and Washington and what probably worked. Keep away from special interest groups. We could write a new petition right here on Roll It Up or another forum if need be. If we are going to do this for the 2014 election we better get a move on. We have lots of organizing to do.

By the way I'm not a NORML member and never have been. I like to stand neutral to the organization and always have.

Little effect? It shut down nearly every 'dispensary' in the state. A few brave souls in friendly areas stayed open, but prob 80% were gone in about 48 hours. Some reopened but in my area all closed until Danny opened one up across from the courthouse a couple of weeks ago. Cops answered when you knocked on the closed doors to that one today. Or so I am told.

Dr. Bob
The majority of them that closed their doors ended up reopening a short time later as well as many many new dispensaries opening. For the last year I've had more dispensaries within 20 miles of my house then I can count on my hands and toes. In the grand scheme of things I would say that ruling had a little effect...

Get em the fuck out of my garden... Period fuckin dot.

Go to jail for my beliefs? Nope rather go to hell. Where ever I go I will do everything in my power to cost as much $$$$$ to the courts and state as I can.

Dr Bob? This ruling was not about the 'act'. It was about public nuisance. Zoning. Anyone no zoning no problem.

As far as not liking new terms that are not spelled out in the act? Really ? Now all of our acceptable words are to be defined by 'the act'?

As far as Jesus thinkin your magic number of 12 does not make u a criminal? Really really? "don't be stupid while you are doing somethin stupid "...You are an admitted felon with 12 plants.

Sure just be sure you are right up in their face. Make them close you, get a headline about 'police force pot shop to close' while you are at it. Be sure to get that last little bit of money before you are 'forced to close'. That makes us all look really good. Be arrogant to the bitter end.

Listen to the ruling and shut down like a law abiding business.

Dr. Bob
thats sound advice for the person giving it but a terrible attitude for activism (unless the first part wasn't sarcastic....which I think it probably was) Nobody would have medical if we didn't have Jack Herer and many others out there breaking laws getting in the face of the public and catching headlines to keep the general public in a state of angered contempt for the pigs that make and enforce laws the people don't agree with. Love you doc but you tend to play it too safe for my taste. Old growth forests don't get saved in congress they get saved when hippies chain themselves naked to the trees and get press.

The "closed" ones in jackson turned off the open sign and took the flag down and locked the door....but if you walk up to the door.....well that's different *smirk*

Come on people , its time to look to our creator to straighten out this mess , do you really think a bunch of pot heads are behind this Medical Marijuana Movement , face the truth this is a battle between good and evil and good will prevail . Farmers markets , dispensary's , and compassion clubs are not the answer , its as simple a listening to our creator . the evil assholes have the power to shut down the dispensary's , let us see if they have the power to shut down Gods word .

How could God have said it any clearer , we need a meeting place that is open 24/7 , these meeting places need to be spread across all of MI and the oil of this plant needs to be available to everyone in need , God has given us the recipe , yes its called Holy Oil

GENESIS 1: 29 ---And God said , behold I have given you every herb bearing seed , which is upon the face of all the earth , and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed ; to you it shall be for meat .

HomeLess its clear that you are a leader , look not for a farmers market location , but instead a “ home of the oil “ the time has come for the people that see truth of the marijuana plant to stop hiding in the basements and closets and unite into a group that proudly professes that God said it and that’s good enough for me .

AGS would be a good name for the locations ( AND GOD SAID )
