See that in the constitution anywhere? Before you start, I do not believe that a gun owner should have to present ID in order to have his firearm either, nor should have have to present ID to any government official in order to purchase one.
The biggest problem is that each state now has differing rules for what is "proper", and "another form of ID" doesn't cut it. Beyond that I said that this would be acceptable if it were not sprung upon the population, a year or even less is not enough time to accomodate the estimated 5 million who do not have ID.

Pappy, while I agree with you, in effect we have voted, Elected officials enstated these rules and SCOTUS has ruled that it is not an undue burden. Of course what was not determined is if the burden placed on the population of a single state is unfailr timed.

I found this one humorous.... I believe you need to log some hours studying that great document which shapes and governs our nation. Just because you are perfectly willing to give away your constitutionally granted rights and freedoms does not mean that the rest of us desire to nor will we let them fall idly away. People have died for these rights, and it is un-american not to demand them.
