sounds like ya gettin sorted m8! yellow is normaly a nitrogen def, but it can be expected late flower in some strains.

I'm in uk and I get free stuff here m8, it is world wide dont know how good in your part of the world though.

I have got loads of free "grow" stuff and its green :-)
cool ill keep checking it out. most of it here is about recycling. Austin is kind of a hippy town. which is nice. but its also a hipster town so alot of shit on craigslist is way over price. I thought this would be great to convert. but check the price http://austin.craigslist.org/fuo/1743136406.html !!! WTF its all busted and needs paint. people are crazy.

i built this veg cabinet for only $14, lights, box, splitters, everything. threw in a couple extra 80mm fans i had for exhaust with a passive intake.
you definitely get points for simplicity. I really like your grow too. my apartment isnt very big so anything thats not stealth would kind of stick out. I would probably have to reinforce a box and then get some sort of cover to go over it to look like a nightstand or an endtable. The size is almost perfect though. Im afraid because I dont do hydro though that im gonna run out of room with the pots in there. something the same dimensions as your wardrobe box is what im looking for i guess

yeah thanks, better stick with a dresser/night stand i guess, and cardboard is good for soil, but hydro could get messy, LoL.

and is that guy crazy, $185, WTF???

I saw you mention fox farm nutes a little ways back. I tried them but didn't have a pH tester so I gave them up. I just kept burning them. Now I make compost tea with composted cow manure, bat guano, and sucunat. I don't worry about pH testing and haven't had any real problems yet. Plus it is more natural. The fox farm nutes are only 80% organic, which in my book makes it 100% not organic. Think of it like steroids. A baseball player may be able to break the home run record by taking them, but he still ends up with wild mood swings, acne, and a small penis. Use all synthetic nutes and you may end up with a beast of a plant, but the quality will suffer.

i bought the FF nutes thinking they were organic. I guess only the big bloom is organic though. It seems pretty legit though, just added vitamins and minerals. my old lady is a nutritionist so she wanted these to be all organic and I fucked that up, but I cant let these nutes go to waste either so when theyre all out, I hope to go full organic. There are a few places here that mix organic soil and fertilizer that I plan on looking into. I burned mine at first too and then backed off. I havent checked my pH in a while. I know that FF is low pH to preserve shelf life and last I checked my water was a bit high around 7. so I figure after running it through the brita and letting it sit over night that when the nutes are added its about right. But I plan on getting a proper pH kit to find out. soil pH kits are crazy expensive for good ones.
:leaf::leaf:
I decided to wait to add the Grow Big to my water until tomorrow. I also plan on going to walmart tomorrow and looking for the molasses bc agave doesnt seem to be doing a whole lot.
Also seeing a lot less gnats since I soaked the top of the soil in pyrethrin. take that ya bastards!
I have noticed alot of weight getting on my untopped plant. alot more crystals. rotated her so the other side gets some light. I am still worried about the topped plant as its progressing very slowly. I hope that the lower temps in there help out. I gave her 1.3 times the nutes as the other. maybe that does something. the leaves are really green and healthy just not seeing any bud growth for a while.

i think the topped plant may be fattening up a little. if so then its two weeks behind my untopped plant. the untopped is the one that has the curved main stem and a couple smaller shoots poking up. I have to go out of town for a month on the tenth so I have decided to chop these on june 5th no matter what. hopefully I get some good smoke out of it.

good news is that I plan on building a better box while I am visiting my family. I have some very handy relatives with shops.

went and picked up some black strap molasses. added about a teaspoon to my half gallon of water and watered.

I think I saw a spider mite in my sink. I killed it without thinking. jesus tits. I thought it wasnt a problem since im inside? it was super tiny looked like a spider and was red. I dont even know if we get the red kind in texas.

it also looks like I got my wish on the stink. I came home and my apartment had the faint smell of a skunk. quickly turned off my extraction fan in the bathroom and sprayed some febreze. Thankfully my room mate is asleep. you guys think If I got a square of carbon and taped it over my bathroom fan that it would be enough? or perhaps I should get some ONA?

I opened a bottle of ona in my room 4 ten min. yesterday and it smells like it's still open the next morning. I would do both the carbon and ona.

yeah thats what ive decided to go with. a sheet of carbon is like $20 bucks at the only hardware store that stocks it. but I will be able to reuse it I think.

Hey Johnny your girls have turned out real nice man.
Congrats!
thanks dude. I only wish they were three times as fat and stank twice as much. :p

went and bought a canister of ONA and a sheet of carbon filter. cut it down and taped it over my exhaust and AC. temps have risen quite a bit because of that. id say atleast 5 degrees. hopefully not too much to stop growth. my thermo says 81 and its about 6 inches above the lights so probably a good 5 degrees higher at the canopy.

dam, looks like a good deal, other than maybe heat issues, sounds great.
I was thinking the same thing. maybe in a larger area it might be ok but probably not in a small box. so I found this http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=36344&highlight=hps+wiring . the light theyre talking about is about $32 and its a security light I think. you just rewire it so the balast is outside the box. I found a piece of glass that goes around a candle at goodwill that is about 4" around and has an opening on both ends that I could make my own cooltube out of. worth a shot anyway.

only problem is I drive a little car and my cabinet that I have now doesnt fit in it. So its probably going to get scrapped. shitty.

anyway. I am pretty sure my topped plant wont be done by the fifth but its getting chopped anyway... aw. didnt plan ahead that I would be travelling over the summer. add that to my list of shit i learned this grow.

I cant get my microscope to be steady enough to take a good look. I think most are starting to go cloudy. I spotted maybe 1% of the upper ones that looked amber. This is on my untopped plant. still not a lot of crystals forming on my topped plant. but she has just at two weeks before shes chopped. I plan on watering with kind of heavy nutes for the next week with a hefty dose of molasses to try and push them hard. Then do a flush of about one gallon per plant, wait a couple days then flush two gallons and then they go dry til the fifth. That seem proper?

check the pics let me know whats up. trying to get em as big as possible. my camera is only 7mp so its not a great view to begin with.

still curious what you guys think about my plan. going to do one more round of nutes tomorrow. then water with molasses for the next three days. then a flush. wait two then a flush and dry for a couple days. then another bigger flush. then dry til the 4th. I have to leave on the 6th.

theyre getting very stinky. wish i had a finished box right now. I think for my next go I will stick with CFLs. They 150w that i posted is a little steep for me right now. maybe I can find a used one or a neglected one while I am out of town.

IMO Your so close to the end you should take it a bit easy on the nutes so you dont over do it. Better to be safe then sorry...lol
Please let me know how the molasses does, I have some waiting to be used.

I have a 70w hps and it doesnt get very hot, some good exhaust and a fan blowing across it really keeps it cool, but in your area you already have
high daytime temps, so maybe a used AC unit would help you out?

I removed the photo cell in my HPS and it was really easy to do. The light was cheap, and it acts as a good supplement for the cfls, IMO in your
application (small box) it would be great.

70 w hps in a box is great for me at least. I have two but it hits 86 with both on so I supplemented with cfls and turned one hps off. 81 now. How much was the 150 hps u posted cuz my local hydro store has them for 89. not bad if shipping is to much. I got my 70's at home depot on sale for 25 bucks a piece.
