Lmfao bro stop being a music elitist. Elvis took it further than anyone at the time. Thee is a difference between an originator and a king. That's like saying all the bluesmen posted in this thread stole their ideas from robert johnson. It's not theft is all I'm saying.

Yea theft is a choice word, i dunno what to call it. I think its lame when musicians drop anything unoriginal but sometimes it just works. I think mariahs version of open arms killlled journeys. she got permissions so its not theft. But bitch that wasnt yo song! Lol

Hard to say. If you look waaaaay back before cultures started to travel and meet each other, a lot of them had similar ideas about how things worked.

I think the trick is in the musicianship, if they can't play any improv then it's likely a cinch.

If they did snag their work in that way the question is whether or not they did it for money, or, for the art (imo).

Pretty much any time you can play on guitar somebody else has already played it maybe a little slower or faster but someone else has played the tune I've noticed it with a few bands. Also I took guitar lessons as a kid and the teacher said the same thing.

What is really theft is hip hop, pop and rap none of them fools even use a real instrument.

CCR had some talent though rocking out with the washboard and all. Lol

And of course Slipknot is doing some shit got them big ass drums and kegs.

You know back in the day before everyone was a jaded little egocentric bitch you could make homages to other artists with out being called a thief. All the bluesmen were playing each others songs and borrowing riffs and everyone had a good time. Like this is some goofy ass shit.
Big difference; the old bluesmen gave credit and if they didn't and were called on it, they did give credit. Fuckin' Jimmy Page says he first heard Taurus on the internet 2 years ago. Total bullshit as Zeppelin opened for Spirit early in their careers and heard Taurus way back then. Could have avoided this by giving some writing credit and maybe a small royalty.
