you could also consider getting a hepa filter
Instead of exchanging the air.. clean it bongsmilie

germ guardians are very cheap but I e never used one.. I have a dyson fan.

I think the only thing I can do with not being able to go up is go out

drill 6 inch exhaust whole top of closet door
Run ducting out top into hallway as to not recycle in the room itself

If I ran hepa filter I wouldn’t need co2 exchange?
maybe co2 exchange is not as crucial in such a small space?
I was wondering when I started this if I could get away with an air purifier

I’ll try to dig up some facts but you dont need co2 exchange in such a small set up.. well techincally you do, but your ac in your duplex will do the job for you... can you not even open the windows for a minute a day?

I’m in the northeast so outdoor temps are cold and dry but I could absolutely “burp” the windows once a day.
i ended up drilling through top of door and laying my 6 inch160 cfm fan blowing out for nice negative pressure recirculatinf from the room.
myhas got to be running 3 times as efficient as it was my temps dropped 3-5 degrees f and held... now I have to solve that problem by either heating the room it’s in or be content with the way my closet is now.

My heater in the closet kicks on at 75degrees and off at 77 my humidifier kicks on at 48 percent and off at 52%

hopefully with the new efficient air exchange my nighttime lights out humidity spike will be with in acceptable range.

Now the only thing I should have to worry about in theory is cooling once I bring in my new fixture but it shouldn’t be a problem my fan controller is dialed down as slow as possible right now so I have room to play with more exhaust in the near future.

My plan sound logical?

thanks for your time ✔

Sounds good man,
Check out @Renfro ’s post on lights out humidity spikes.. I’ll try to dig up the link.
best of luck:eyesmoke:

I have been pretty successful controlling humidity based on tent temp. Lower temps, result in lower humidity or transpiration.
I need one of those humidity controllers for my lights off times. Definately get spikes at lights out. In a similar sized space as yours

Try to take pics w lights off
I will post pics tonight with lights off.
I’m having a temp issue at my containers after changing exhaust so I’m gunna have to make some tweaks and I deffinately need advice on this one. Canopy temps 77-79 day time and my temp at my containers matches these canopy temps!
root zonehygrometer telling me 78 degrees at root zone.
Has to be something to do with the way I’m heating or my exhaust any insight would be appreciated.
I’ll post photos lights out tonight

Ink bird controller is the shit for likes out or any environmental control under 1500 watt draw I believe.
I’m having issues with my new exhaust my temps at soil height are now mirroring my canopy temp every since I put the good exhaust in?
many insight would be appreciated.
So far I’m going to Possibly implement shade in form of cardboard over my containers to try and bring that temp down
Also going to deffinately start experimenting with my heating and fans
But honestly I’m scratching my head and a bit worried
78 degrees at my containers is scaring me

Not any higher than my undercanopy temps though, and hasnt givin me any problems. I keep my thermostat below canopy set at 78, and canopy temps according to my shitty digital thermometer are somewhere between 82 to 84. Before i put insulation under the pots i had slower growth, so the higher soil temps seem to have helped speed things up.
If you have a good circulating fan in there temps should be relatively even top to bottom.

Right on!
it does make me feel better knowing your running around the same temps at least soil wise and having success.
that’s the thing right there is ever since I put in a proper exhaust and added a couple fans inside the closet temps have been even through out.
If anything it means my exhaust is efficiently evacuating my closet.
I’m going to try shading out the canopy with tinfoil or cardboard and enginuity until my canopy fills in and I’m going to mess around with my fan set up and really just try and think outside the box.
At the end of the day 77-78 degrees at the soil is outside my ocd range lmao
May just have to live with it
& it may absolutely benefit root and plant development.

guess we got an experiment on it hands.

thanks for your insight if you think of any other info feel free to blast it this way I will try and throw a photo upafter transplant

Droopy shot last night post aloe-silica foliar

this morning 3 photos.

not perfect by any means but transplanting into 4 gals in a couple days right around the sametime my *electric sky 300 should be showing up.
I’m almost considering building a small raised bed for this closet that way I can have more constant active biology and always be re amending and “building “ my soil.
then again I also want to do coco or bubble buckets.

I have a full time job in a 50k watt medical facility so I’m just happy I’m pulling this offall while only opening the closet dooor max 7hours a week

insight on finishing touches for closet grow would be always appreciated I’ll be flipping in 2-3 weeks.
Im thinking only 2 plants will be finishing due to lack of space anyway
Cheers and aloha

I started in my closet at first. I cut 2 holes in the wall leading into the closet. On the left side out of the picture is my intake with a fan right by it to push the air to the other side. I then have my exhaust on the right side so it also helps pull air from the left side.

First off thanks for stopping in and giving up some time to help.

secondly, sick set up and your plants look happy

what are your canopy temps and what are you ambient temps nearbottom of containers?
How big is your closet?
You say you have exhaust up high intake down low which makes sense I have the same set up with exhaust whole and 185 cfm put through I don’t have an intake whole as my fan is over rated for my space and I’m relying on negative pressure to draw air in.... maybe an intake will help me?

mom done worrying about my soil temps right now it’s agood detail to pay attention to but I feel once my canopy fills in it will be more shaded and cooler down there.

just order els 300 led last night........

many insight on my airflow set up would be helpful.
I have my inkbird set to kick on at 73 degrees and it brings the canopy up to 79 then drops to 73 then repeats process all day. The heater is in the room outside the closet.
one thing I’ve been cheating is exhausting right into the room the closet is in perhaps I’ll have better luck venting that air out of the room?
Cheers.

sick set up
