Dialing In Closet Ventilation

I have been cutting corners on air exchange for as long as I could get away with it & im looking for help and opinions on the most efficient way to exhaust my space.

19 in deep x 36 inches wide x 7 for tall 36 cubic feet.

it seems like I have two options;
Cut whole in ceiling ( I’m not sure what’s above & would hate to vent into a trapped space no attic )
Cut whole in top of closet door and exhaust air into the room the closet is in which is roughly 600 cubic feet.
Windows in room are off limits.

I have my inkbird temp and humid controller. Everything is dialed except air exchange and I need to get it rights before I bring in new led.
Right now under T5 temps 79-70 humidity 48-52%

My opinion is if you don’t know what’s above then vent to the room. A few plants hopefully won’t deplete co2 especially if you can open the window now and then. Watch your humidity doesn’t get too high and dehumidify as needed.
6” Ac infinity and a can lite filter would be a nice combo for that space.

Thanks for the help and insight.
I’m unsure how to handle it and venting back in the room is not my first choice and will definitely force my hand on some cooking I believe.

I wonder what could be on the top of my closet on the other side of drywall if there’s no large vent space say I run into just the wall channel I wonder if venting into that would be acceptable. We’re talking about 120-180 cfm

Your asking for mold just blasting it into an unknown area. Most houses the only options are windows, chimneys, dryer style vents or an attic that has ample ridge venting to release humid air.

Right on thank you this is very helpful. i guess my only option right now is to vent into the room the closet is in and if need be either cool the room with window air or with a/c .
im trying to get this closet environment on autopilot with the only need to be in there for waterings and maintenance and it’s turning into a serious challenge.

I only have 15 hours a week max to spend on upkeep. Any suggestions on overall environmental control would be helpful.

I have inkbirddual controller controlling humidifier and heater so things are very dialed all but the air exchange. Maybe I’ll just duct out into the hall way.

I really realized the exchange I had now wasn’t cutting it when my plants went into some vigor and started transpiring more now the nighttime hum spikes need to be addressed

I recommend getting a smart controller or digital thermostat to control the exhaust fans. SMS Smart Controller link

You wouldn’t happen to have an atttic

there’s no attic in my duplex so not much space to exhaust interms of going up and out I’m learning I may have to vent through the closet door into the room the closets in or best case scenario out into the hall I suppose ?If there’s a way to go up and out that would be ideal I just need to get an idea of what’s above closet before I punch any wholes into dead ends sorta speak. There is aback flow vent to hvac on wall above closet but I’m thinking it may be a bad idea for the houses hvac to put added pressure on that intake?
Thanks for your insight it’s much appreciated
