Dehumidifier question please help

Is the heat from a dehumidifier going to raise the heat in my grow tent that much to the point where I need to buy an air conditioner and cool it? My temperature is perfect right now so I can't buy an air conditioner to solve the humidity problem because that'll drop the temperature too low. So if I'm understanding this correctly I have to buy a Damn dehumidifier plus I have to buy a damn AC unit is this correct? I'm watching videos on YouTube of grow tents use this flower and drums and now we're inside the grow tent do I see a dehumidifier so how are these guys doing that? I'm confused

Sorry my auto-correct screwed that up. I watch videos on YouTube of Growers with grow tents
Relative humidity changes with temperature.
AC units are also dehumidifiers.
What is your average RH?
Average RH is 51%

I use a 5X5 and my RH is usually 50 - 60% which is fine for veg and most of flower. Ideally, I would drop it to 40% for late flower but I don't worry about it. My plants finish fine but buds tend to shrink a bit. Lower humidity reduces shrinkage during dry & cure.

You could duct the dehu from outside of your grow if you're worried about heat, although you would need the additional floor space for it.

AC will dehu somewhat but I wouldn't rely on it for dehumidification as AC typically doesn't run during lights-off and thats when you most need dehu in action.

how does this work?

Have the dehu unit outside your grow space, whatever the setup is, then duct the intake into your space, just like a fan or scrubber. This will pull the atmos through the duct, through the dehu and have the advantage of dumping that excess heat in whatever space you put it in. If you're in a tent this would simply run the heat into the rest of your room.

Depends on the model of dehu you choose, of course: I would imagine not all intakes are duct-able.

im running a frigidaire 70pint in mine. max temps lights on at 82 with leds, but im sure the dehumiddy is putting out a few extra degrees. would ducting lower the efficiency though? doesnt the dehumidy suck in all the moisture in the air and spit out dry air? this would mean 2 ducts?

A 70p dehu will raise the temp about 10 degrees over ambient. I wouldnt run the a/c at the same time it will just work its ass off and not make a difference.

If you have 51% rh with lights off your good. If thats with lights on just run the dehu with lights off.

yea my lights off is around 60 with the dehumidy set at 60. its my basement and outside the tent the humidity is like 58, but inside the tent is higher with the plants. is there a way to run the dehumiddy for those 12 hours or do i need a timer?

Yea get you a humidity controller. I got one on amazon think it was around $30-40. You can set it to come on at say 50 shut off at 45 or come on at 60 shut off at 50 or whatever you want. Pic below is the one i have so far so good.

my frigidaire has that control built in, but the fan still runs 24/7 even after the compressor shuts off when it hits the desired level

I have an a/c / heater with dehu built in. It has adjustments for the a/c heat but no the dehu. I dunno about the fan running but that controller kills the power when it turns off.

So in order to use the dehumidifier you have to accept the fact that the temperature in your tent is going to go up about 10 degrees and there's nothing that can be done about it? Because if I'm understanding you guys correctly you can't use a air condition because it overworks the AC. My temperature is 74 degrees right now without a dehumidifier. So I have to just let my tent sit at 85 Degrees while I'm running the dehumidifier? Do I run the dehumidifier only at night or do I just run it whenever it needs it on a timer? Thanks

Yes sir thats how the dehu works. Removes the cooler damp air and replaces it with dry hotter air.

You can try the dehu, the ac, ac lights on, dehu lights off etc. You have to dial it in to what you want it to be and what your room needs.
