Collodial Dunking

His name was Paul Karason and he died a few months ago.
Of a un-realated issue

'' The man who turned a Smurf-like blue after taking colloidal silver for dermatitis has died, though not from his self-administered medical regimen.
Paul Karason, who changed color over the course of 15 years while using the preparation of silver particles suspended in liquid, died on September 24 in Washington state. He had suffered a heart attack, contracted pneumonia and had a stroke, his estranged wife, Jo Anna Karason, told Today. The 62-year-old was a heavy smoker with heart problems, the New York Daily News reported, and had had a triple-bypass five years ago. ''

I have done some research about CS, and I am planning to use it on my plants this week.
I do not want to ruin a whole plant, so I am planning to apply it with a brush to the nodes of a single branch of a plant. I have a few plants with good traits, but unsure which are females, so I will be painting CS on one branch of each plant I like, taking care not to get any of it on other parts of the plants.

Glad to hear the dunk worked, although from what I read, the CS only needs to be applied on the budding sites, and not the leaves. I figure a saturated paintbrush will be able to apply CS to the areas without wasting as much.

Just make sure you saturate the area thoroughly.

I just saw the first signs of a male on a Sugar Black Rose that I've been treating twice a day with an 80ppm mix for about 6 weeks. This plant took forever. It doesn't like to be cloned either, but once rooted does well. As far as the smoke goes, ...why aren't you growing one?

I got a bottle of 30ppm. Which I have read is sufficient to do this. I was planning to do 1 application a day, but now that you mention dual treatments, I might do that.
I got 10 plants growing now, so I should have plenty to smoke. What I was trying to say is I will apply the CS to one branch of only 4 or 5 of my plants. (the best looking ones)

Can you tell me when did you begin dunking?
was it as soon as you flipped to 12s? during veg? or after you saw blooms?
Also..
Did you make your 80ppm, or did you buy it?
I got mine from a health store, and 30ppm was the highest they had.
5ppm, and 10ppm was also available.

I start silver the day I flip to 12/12. I've noticed that it works better if you spray the underside of the leaves also, but don't treat every leaf when doing this to a clone, the spray tends to make the plant look like chit. I think it might block light or stomata, I'm guessing.

I started Jan 18. It takes a while, the plant has to grow the bud, then it can change to a hermie.

I made my own silver. I have bought some, but it didn't work.

Do you have a TDS? A freind gave me a bottle of silver, said it was 250ppm. It tested at 19ppm!.

I was asking because you said it took 6 weeks to work. From what I have been reading, It is supposed to work in 2 weeks, when you see the first signs of male flowers you can stop applying it.
And NO, I don't have a ppm tester. Maybe I will flower out a branch of my best male, too? In case this dont work.

Never tried this on a male before. I know it was supposed to work in 2 weeks, I'm still puzzled, just really wanted the pollen so I refused to give up. I figured if the silver didn't make her hermie, old age would, or it would die on the vine trying.

I think he was saying that he may let one of his male plants produce pollen as a backup if the CS doesn't work. Spraying a male with CS will not produce feminized pollen.

Yes Ducky, that is what I meant. Silver Surfer is a Silver Skunk x Hawaiian Kush breed, and I would like to have a seed stock, preferably feminized, but if this dont work, I'll take normal seed. I have been painting C.S. on the bud sites for a week now, unfortunately, the site goes down, so I can not post journal entries about it, yet. I will be looking forward to that part coming back online.

The fumes CS gives off when burned is toxic. I wouldn't even risk using buds that got overspray on them.
How does one "burn" silver? Iv heated silver to over 900°C and it liquefied, with a nominal amount becoming silver oxide.

Do you think your lighter can do better?

And silver is non toxic unless you're talking about one of its salts, which collidial silver is not.

Yea, you are right. I heated a silver coin with my lighter and it didn't burn or give off fumes. I ate the coin afterwords and I don't feel sick.

Hello. Just thought I would let everyone know I have a little side by side grow going. No rules or anything, all in fun, wish I could give out prizes to the winner, but its against forum rules. Anyways I would like if everyone could join. I also added a side bonus. Lets see who can get those 3 ounce monster cola's or more ;) 3 ounce contest thread -> https://www.rollitup.org/p/10396937/

What I do is start off with a lower ppm reading such as 30 to 50 %. Then I just gradually increase the ppms until the females I am spraying start showing male sex . If it doesn't show, don't worry. I have had some take up to 3 weeks to even start showing. Also they will react to being sprayed, they act as if they are wilting, and may even change colors. They should bounce back after they get use to being sprayed.

I have been painting for a week and a half now on 4 of my plants. They are not showing sex yet.. but I would like to post that I have noticed the branch that I have been painting the CS on is not growing as fast as the rest of the plant. This is happening on all the plants I am painting, and the one branch that I have selected, (which was the same length of the opposite node branch) is quite noticeably smaller than the branches not being treated.
Just posting this unique observation. (I wish the journals were up.. lol)

Yeah they will do that buddy. They may even change colors on you a tad so if it happens its all good. Just thought I would give you a heads up. I have had a few of mine go 3 weeks and not show sex. ;)

Thanks for the heads up.
The rest of my crop are beginning to show sex, some have some tiny hairs showing, and I think I see a couple balls starting to pop. Unfortunately My best plant may be a male. *sad face* I will give it a few more days to be be sure though.

I have a colloidal / ionic silver generator that I use for health benefits. I can make either. One is suspended silver ions (ionic) and the other is suspended silver particles(colloidal). Does anyone know which is better for this purpose?
